Has anyone else been having lots of crashes? Especially if there are a lot of characters (quests) in the main building. I'm on an iPad Air and I've been regularly closing apps/restarting my device. I have no problems on my iPhone 5...
Me too! It always happens as I'm about to enter the missions building. After I rebooted several times I'll get a message asking I wanted to play from current saved progress or a backup. I'm on the 5S btw.
What bike should I be upgrading the most? Any other premium starter packs to buy? I got the first one.
I tend to upgrade all of them a little as some tracks require them. I havent seen any premium packs besides the starter one which is what I bought too.
Thanks for your reply. Yes, it is disappointing how they have designed this game. I have progressed to the point where I need to grind for parts or I can't beat the NPC and Robot characters. Its going to be a looooong process. I have to give it to devs. They designed the early stages so well that I had no issues with forking out $4 for the pack. Now the game has ground to a halt and I feel cheated. Oh well, another lesson learned.
Hi guys , really nice forum. Well I'm completely stuck in a level called tree house, I have to beat butch but , believe me, it's almost impossible, I have a silver medal in that track and even with the bike full upgraded I couldn't win. Any help? Maybe a walktrough video...
Okay. I think this game is really great. There's a lot of content and I feel this game will keep me coming back. I really also like the rarified fuel (if you've got to that part), and you can go on any race for 1 hour in real time for free, and don't pay the fuel charge. I'm now getting into the core of the game, and am currently trying to upgrade one of the bikes. How many bikes are there in the game currently? Like I said, I will definitely keep this game on my device and play it now and again. Fun title.
Or a $5-$10 full game unlock. But why do that when crazy people will pay ridiculous amounts of money for ripoff iap's. I am a long time Trials fan and this game is great for 20 minutes at a time but I don't see it as a legitimate game due to all the freemium crap. If you want to really enjoy Trials get it on another platform for a couple bucks and have endless hours of fun.
Just had an awesome lunch break at work because I played till I was out of fuel then I leveled up just as I ran out so it refilled. I pretty much played for an hour that I get for lunch. Kind of sad when you think about it, i was excited to be able to play for an hour straight haha.
That sucks, I usually just stop playing but I was on lunch and I just so happened to level up when I hit empty lol. It was awesome really.
Here's some of my suggestions for this game: Adjust the bike upgrades timer to be more reasonable. I'm getting into 24 hour and 48 hour wait times, which seems excessive. This also discourages players from upgrading their bikes unless it's required to complete a mission. If a player gets a platinum medal on a level, reward them with a small subtraction off the fuel required to play that level. It would help later on when grinding for parts and provide extra incentive to improve their times. Increase the wheel area of third tier parts. Fulfilling the many missions of collecting 6 four-tier parts and 3 five-tier parts can be very grueling. Getting 1 third-tier part at this point in the game isn't as special as the part's wheel area would lead you to believe. You still need 9 of them to make a five-tier part. Given the missions you have to complete, it seems like a natural progression to have the same chance at getting a third-tier part as it was when playing in the second-tier levels to get second-tier parts. I'm not sure why it was felt that the third-tier parts should be more difficult to obtain. It just feels mean-spirited.
Completely agree with you on this. 48 hours is ridiculous. Just got to my first 48 hour timer and I need the upgrade to complete the missions available at this point so there is pretty much no point me playing for the next two days.
I agree that all the changes you suggest would make the game more fun. I will point out though that there seems to be an implicit assumption in your suggestions that the developers intended to design as fun a game as possible, and any things which seem imbalanced must be mistakes, and therefore they'd appreciate suggestions to make it better. I think this assumption is wrong, and that in fact all the things you mentioned are completely intentional, because they're all designed to push players toward buying diamonds and coins to alleviate the frustration you're encountering. It's completely in line with how lots of other freemium games are designed, where the game is initially pretty generous for long enough to get users hooked and get users to leave positive reviews. Then gradually the timers and grinding increase to a point where most people can't enjoy the game anymore without spending money. Some people will quit at that point, others will spend money, and there are always a certain number of people who are willing to grind or wait out the timers to keep playing for free. Sounds like you've reached the point where you have to decide which group you're in.
Thank you. The way people fell for the quick level ups and upgrade times leads me to believe that they have no idea how free to play works. As I said: the last tango upgrades take at least 100 hours each, and that's a tier 1 bike. The higher the tier, the harder the parts to acquire, the higher the amount of coins required to buy, and the longer the wait time for the upgrade.
Well, this actually is the first FTP game that I've played that relies on micro transactions and wait times, so I was understandably surprised by these things as they were revealed. I normally avoid FTP games, but I'm a fan of the Trials series and had to check it out. The dev has posted here that they wanted to hear feedback, particularly what people don't like, and that further balancing is a possibility. I think I made some thoughtful suggestions, I don't expect anything to come of it. I'd mainly like to see the upgrade times reduced, because they can be a hassle even if you put a lot of money into the game. The other points aren't really for me, as I've progressed past that part of the game. But I'm just now realizing those posts I mentioned were made during the soft launch, and that changes are disappointingly unlikely.
I thought game was really generous early but it got really tough later on. Newer bikes are so expensive to upgrade and you still need those high tier parts for quests. Still i put some hours into this one and for a free game you cant complain i guess. Hopefully they'll port another Trials game someday but with paid version instead of this.
Just made this account so I could leave this tip here. When you run out of fuel or need to wait for an upgrade to finish simply go to your settings in your phone change the time to a day later go back into the app and wallah full fuel everything upgraded then go back and change the time to "set automatically" The game uses your phones clock to determine how long you must wait. BOOM no money needs to be spent enjoy
