Yeah no doubt, I am just curious how people are doing things. I eventually want to try balance stuff like that out. I have NO idea what Schopenhauer is doing. You guys are blowing my mind a little bit.
I went with Glitch (who is totally awesome to have) ,the starter pack, and unlocked timers. I felt this gives you the "essentials" in the game without feeling like I'm cheating. It is survival game after all and if I started with all the weapons with ammo it isn't the same. I'm really happy I did that too. If you chose this route you'd have plenty to spare. This is just my opinion though. The survival pack looks like a sweet set up too if you want an easier experience. This is one of the reasons I love this pay model! You can pick and choose your premium experience! Good luck!
Just gotta say, I don't really get the praise. I beat the entire trial (played through to day 20 just to draw it out a bit), built all the weapons, got most of the perks, found the UFO, and maxed out several weapon proficiencies without dying once. In all it took about 3 hours and I didn't spend a cent in real money. This game has little to no replay after that so I deleted it. I do understand the praise for the IAP model. It's well thought out but completely unnecessary. In one of my first scavenges (using the gratis coins for Facebook like) I scored 10,000 gears from some poor soul. Maybe I just got super lucky but if that's a normal occurrence, I can't see why people like this game or would find it at all challenging.
Yeah, scavenging 10000 gears is a MASSIVE deal (or at least I've never done it). That would probably break the experience to an extent for you as well because you didn't unlock the weapons progressively.
my strategy for arena mode: avoid weapons with a high attack speed like the auto shotgun it's too easy to waste ammo with them definitely pick weapons of different ammo types if you choose a shotgun take the 'set zombies on fire' & and the 'find more shotgun ammo' perk or you're gonna run out of ammo soon. but the best configuration i found so far is the revolver & the rifle this way the 'high powered ammunition' perk affects both of your weapons with this you don't need the extra ammo perk & i usually take 'increased walking speed'. when in battle always be on the run for ammo crates steer clear of the four entry points and finally try to allign zombies in a line with the barricade or car in combination with the 'high powered ammo' perk you can take out a number of zombies with a couple of shots (sometimes even with a single shot)
Yeah 10k is huge. Most I ever got was the automatic rifle (worth 2k), which was exactly what I was shooting for - I lucked out. Of course I then ran out of ammo and could never find much after that. The axe is what I've used the most. But if you got 10k in one go, that would definitely smooth things out quite a bit. I thought I wouldn't want to do the campaign again after finishing it, but I've started another. It's just a fun game. And wow, I didn't know there was a UFO!
Well i died on day 14 but killed over the amount of zeds for the horde and it gave me credit for surviving the 14th day but since i di notmake it back to the blue home square i presume i did noe"win" the game correct? And second, inthe bunker how do you get in the room with allthe ammo? Do you need a mellee weapon to knock down awall or something? Have died in there several times trying to get in there. Third exactly howdo you throw these grenades, havent been using them since i never seem to touch the bottons right or aim itwhere i want. Tupid question i know, cant figure out whati amdoing wrong. Thanks for replies in advance,,,
Yes you have to make it home to 'win' and log your score onto the leaderboard. Secondly, Melee weapons and grenades destroy walls. To throw a grenade, tap the grenade icon and a menu of your available grenades comes up. Drag the grenade where you want to throw it within the range that is shown as a white circle. The game pauses as you do this so you can aim. You can also do this with glith's bone if you want to send him somewhere or simply play fetch. Hope that helps!
My complaint was about the quality of the experience. This has nothing to do with whether or not I spent money. I didn't find it challenging an it was way too easy. Most of the time i spent playing was waiting for timers. Now that I know it's a fluke to pull that many gears, I can see how the game could be considered more entertaining than I found it.
Thanks. That's kinda what I thought. My jaw literally dropped when I saw that. "Gee. What should I pick- the single molotov, or the massive pile of cash?" I'm so weak. Maybe I'll give it another go without the trust fund
Yeah. One of the areas in the map had smoke rising from it Spoiler and I checked it out. Tons of supplies and a crashed UFO with an ET hanging out of it.
Yeah I suggest to tweak the massive gear finds like that. I can see how it could ruin the "survival" aspect of it. He might as well skipped and whistled his way through. At the same time though, that probably wouldn't happen too often. As far as adding to the game, I hope we see updates with even more content. I could spend a LOT of time with this game- just as everyone has posted. Hell just look at all the leaderboards! People are spending waaay more than 14 days out in the wild.
I forgot to ask. What are the benefits of staying out in the wild beyond the 14 days? Just a higher spot on the leaderboard? @dev And another content idea: I remember you saying in Upcoming that night is too dangerous to venture out. Well IMO that sounds like the perfect story justification for a co-op or hardcore mode. The levels could be shrouded in darkness and players would need to use flashlights and flares to survive. What do you guys think?
Slight spoilers but not really. Just like the Spoiler bunker stage. Spoiler if you haven't already been there its pitch black with a flashlight.
Yes just like that, but outside. It could be Survive The Night mode or something. I could see it working as either a hardcore mode unlocked after reaching home or as a co-op mode.
I'd like to see more dark interiors, and more location/scene cameos from classic zombie movies/shows/comics, e.g. the barn from TWD.
