There's some new info out today, mostly in this interview with Chris Sawyer at Gamasutra, in which he puts an end to the Premium vs Freemium speculation. I don't think anyone in this thread will have any complaints about his decision
'don't expect a free-to-play experience. "It's a paid title," Sawyer tells me. "The game doesn't suit the free-to-play revenue model, and I'm also not a great fan of the way free-to-play titles try to make money through in-game purchases or advertising."' YES!! Up yours FREEMIUM!! Way to go Chris, day 1 purchase for me, regardless of price!!
Chris Sawyer, you still remain an awesome man. No freemium and it is still the awesome original style.

Ok the screens are gorgeous!! Glad to know Chris is back in action to begin with....I don't know why but the legends seem to see this platform as something special...Ron Gilbert,Sid Meier and etc..Now C.S is on the loop..Hope he makes more games now..
