If you head over to the official site and check out the gallery page, you'll see a few nice bits and bobs! First up are the Macro Screenshots they've released of three scenarios - they're enormous, and also enormously cool. Then there's the goodies page - get the original and remixed Transport Tycoon theme tune for your mobile, or download the game's logo to 3D print! Way cool!
Give them a break! I am pretty certain that that they are just giving us these things to keep us happy while they are working hard on the next update (not sure about sandbox mode though). They should add a sandbox mode soon, since there are a lot of people requesting for it.
No. I got the impression that sandbox mode was out of the question. That was why it was irritating to see that post announcing the time and resources that could have been spent for sandbox mode, wasted on tunes and logos...
I am certain that those resources had been there since the release of the game. They are just letting us know now to keep us happy while waiting for the next update. I need to check with them about the sandbox mode though; they are trying to avoid answering any question about that topic.
Wait, I just suddenly noticed you can't build tunnels in the game. Really? I have to send trains up an incline, or circle round rather than digging a nice straight hole through that mountain? Awwwww...
Yeah that's a shame and is #2 on my most wanted list next to being able to take over opponents companies.
You can absolutely build tunnels: what you need is a vertical cliff face of sufficient height, either natural or terraformed. Then just build your road or track straight into it and it'll automatically form a tunnel. There's a new update out today, here are the patch notes: http://www.transporttycoon.com/forum/forum/main-category/main-forum/806-ios-update-patch-notes-1st-november-2013
The only problem is that whenever I restart the app all the achievements that I have unlocked flash and make my game lag really badly.
Is there a way to increase production on a grain farm? If I remove some of the trees around it will it automatically expand the crops over the newly available area? (I mean, supposing there is a way to chop down trees without running them over while building roads or train tracks )
My game also goes through every GC achievement I've unlocked, every time I open the app. Ipad 3 ios 7.02 Great game though - so pleased Transport Tycoon is on iOS.
Players can't affect farm production positively, unfortunately (though as you may know building over too much farm land will reduce production). The bulldozer/demolish tool under Terraforming will let you clear trees without building roads or tracks.
I would probably never have discovered that by accident, but I'm delighted it is actually in the game. Thanks for being so active here, appreciate your hard work.
Another update hit over the weekend, notably including the new "Replace Vehicle" button. This cuts down the number of steps needed to replace or upgrade your vehicles - a massive time saver if you've got a big fleet operating

Anybody has a guide or tips for building the railroads? I really like the management part but to building just keeps getting in the way. Budgeting is a big part of the game and laying out some easy to build but profitable routes at the start can fund more ambitious projects later. It's tempting to rush at the start, especially as the lite version has a time limit, but a lot of these scenarios are designed to be played for 100+ game years, which gives you plenty of time to build up a nest egg big enough to inflict all sorts of environmental horrors on the world.
