Does anyone have any first impressions yet? I'm pretty much buying it anyway, but if someone's got some playtime in and can confirm that it doesn't control like a supermarket trolley with a wheel missing, I'd be in their debt. Thank you.
- ^ It controls beautifully, to answer your question. It's got stick (virtual) and tap here controls. Also mfi controller support I believe. It's an amazing game def go for it.
MFi controller support works great. I really like how in battles you can either play real time or set a plan and watch it happen.
I'm not too familiar with the game or with bastion. How would you characterize it in regard to existing Rpg genres? And because it's whato enjoy most, could anyone explain to me the character customization in the game -- classes, skill points, gear, etc?
If I had to bet I'd say 99% sure no. Not only because the dev said it doesn't work on a 4S, but also because it doesn't work on an iPad3. I have a 4S and an iPad3, and there are some games (XCom: EW for example), that don't work on the 4S but work on the iPad3. I guess my devices have aged too fast...
Weak Week That was my comment yesterday at "coming tonight games" from TA. Opened TouchArcade app this morning in my iPhone. Saw an app with a girl looking at me. Said to myself nahhh the style of this photo must have been copied by some dev that loves Bastion art. Closed TouchArcade app. Reopened after 3 hours. Saw this girl looking at me again from the top of the list at "hot new games" section. Saw the price. Was like # Saw the dev Was like ######### Bought. Strong Week.
Wow this game is blowing my mind right now. The combat is blissful, tactical, fun. I was only able to play for 10 minutes and haven't had a game make this kind of impression on me.
Regarding subtitles: It's super annoying that only the subtitles of your selected region are downloaded with the app. Now I have english language combined with confusing subtitles in my native language. Really, Supergiant? Why didn't you include subtitles for languages regardless of the selected region? Now how will I be able to play this game with proper english subtitles? Do I have to redownload the whole App again after changing the region of my account? What's the reasoning behind this annoying omitting of subtitles? Text files are not that big...
Bastion and Transistor are not ARPG's in the vein of Diablo, where the character is generic and players express themselves through extensive customization. There are upgrades and skill points, but nothing like what you'll be expecting. That does not mean that they aren't incredible games, but if that's your primary interest, you'll be disappointed. You play a specific character named Red, there are no classes and the skill system is called "Functions" You can read a review of the console version and explore the wiki for gameplay details here: http://www.ign.com/games/transistor/ps4-162852 Here's a list of the Functions and their upgrades: http://transistor.gamepedia.com/Functions
