The fighting system is far and above the most creative, engaging and thought out I've played for a long time. There are so many combinations and ways you can play, plus it can be balls to the wall, paused to strategize or carefully planned. This is seriously such a great surprise.
Never heard of this either (ducks away with Noen and Lawliet). But I just youtubed some gameplay and damn this looks good. Like the bastion devs decided to one up xcom?!
To be fair there were a few threads in TA about its release... I even took some shots in one of the threads asking for a male character.
I just posted in the Pills4Skills thread "my guts highly doubt a superhammer surprise release"... I remember when this game was anounced to be for ipad only, and although the battles seemed to be turn based (is that right?), the gorgeous art style and atmosphere wanted me to give this genre a last try.
Wow instabought! I'm realy glad to see good premium games to the ios platform. Supporting this all the way!
*pitch forks and torches* after lawliet! Played it on pc is really amazing stuff if u liked bastion you will love this aswell really immersive more tactical play than bastion though but really great with fun rpg elements And everything is topnotch and narrating is done a bit differently but so well Its the same narrator that was in bastion How big is the installed game on iphone? Cuz need to make room it seems
More like Fallout and the VATS system, to be honest. It's an ARPG, but really strategic. Combat in Transistor is played out in either real-time, or in pseudo-turn based combat. In real-time, all of your Functions have a use-time and a cooldown before they can be used again. In Turn(), however, all attacks are accelerated and executed in a very short time, but you can only use so many Functions per turn as dictated by the planning cost of each Function. That's where it is very close to Fallout's VATS. As such, Turn() is a cornerstone of Transistor's combat, and using it effectively can be the difference between victory and defeat. The primary difference between Turn() and real-time is that enemies can move significantly and can attack you in real-time, whereas they are effectively frozen during Turn().
Alllllllllmost ninja release of the year so far. That honor (IMO) goes to Grim Fandango Remastered. That said, similar reactions from me. While Grim was "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!?" in sheer disbelief, this was more like "Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuus~!1!1!1!1!1!1!1!". Game should be free though. 10 bucks? Pffffffffffffft. What, do you think developers should be rewarded for hard work? LOLZ
