Hi guys, I know that some people have trouble tranferring apps from their iDevice to their PC but I would like to know how to transfer apps from one computer to another. I ask because I'm getting a new laptop and I'd hate having to d/l all the apps on my current computer that aren't on my iPod.

So basically I found a folder in the iTunes folder called 'Mobile Applications' and when I click on it, it shows me a list of all my .ipas that I bought from the app store. I am wondering if once I d/l iTunes on my new computer, am I able to transfer the .ipas into the same folder on the new computer? It's 17.6 GBs (yeah I have a lot of apps) so it'd probably take a while to transfer :(

Yes, this will work. Log into your iTunes account on the new machine first. It will have no problems.

Except, it's you current Library that has the backups... you don't want to loose the backups and game save progress etc. You ideally want to keep backing up as you were but on the new machine/library.

To that end, I suggest backing up your entire iTunes library and settings. On the Mac, this will happen automatically when you transfer your user account to the new computer. If you're on windows you'd have to do it manually. Maybe try File | Library | Backup to disk and span it across a few DVDs?

Alright, thanks guys. Was worried I'd have to re d/l all the apps again. I'm planning to transfer all the .ipas onto a hard drive and then transfer it over to my laptop.

EDIT: Wait so if I just copy and paste them via a hard drive, will the game progress still be there? I'm not worried about the music and movies because I know a program that allows me to transfer them.

Yeah, i did this from my PC - Mac and it wasn't that hard.

I actually did it twice, but that was because my mac confused me.

And 17gb of Apps! thats about the same amount as I have music, how big is your iPod?

It's a 32GB :D I have like 14GBs worth of apps in my iPod, don't have much music but the majority is filled with movies, I only have like 1.5GBs left of space and at one point I had no space to put my photos in :p Call me an App Store junkie if you must.
