Great game! Pure, simple, old-school arcade fun! I really like the tilt controls and how well balanced the cars are. I really hope this game gets more noticed. Interesting how the new two-way mode made me improve my score in the one-way track. Still saving money to try out the truck! Thanks for the update!
Thanks hvianna, yeah.. although the two-way mode is harder, it gives bonus scores when you drive on the opposite lanes.
First post is updated with new trailer and screenshots. BTW, Traffic Racer is again in Top 5 best selling paid games in Turkey and Russia. Thanks all..
I'm glad to hear the game is doing well! I was thinking, it would be nice to be able to see further down the road, especially in the two-way mode. Have you experimented with a lower camera angle? Does it get too easy? Driving in the opposing lanes is pretty much a game of luck for me right now, as I usually can't react fast enough when I see a car coming.
I didn't try lowering the camera but since it's a much anticipated feature I will give it a try. It may be a dynamic camera angle depending on the speed of the car.
Hi again, I'm glad to share two of the three new cars that will be available in the next update. More news to come soon
I have just uploaded the update 1.4 to the App Store. It should be available in a week or so. And here is the third car that will be included in this update. Besides these cars, this update will bring many gameplay improvements like adaptive view distance increments, auto acceleration feature and lowering the difficulty of two-way mode.
Traffic Racer Update 1.4 is now available on the App Store! There are lots of new content, features and bug fixes. Here is the full changelog: NEW FEATURES - Added 3 new cars - Added 1 new rim - Added auto acceleration option GAMEPLAY IMPROVEMENTS - Two-way mode is now easier. - View distance is slightly increased and now depends on speed - Slightly increased cash income - Driving in the opposite direction now gives extra cash - Max overtake bonus now depends on current speed - Slightly decreased sensitivity at higher handling levels - Decreased the traffic's overcrowding rate GRAPHICS IMPROVEMENTS - Added anti-aliasing for newer devices. - Improved texture quality at car selection menu - Improved texture quality on traffic cars - Added high speed and camera shake effects - Slightly polished car selection screen OTHER - Added exhaust flame sounds - Added countdown where the game is resumed - Lots of bug fixes and improvements You can see the adaptive view distance which increases with speed in the second screenshot.
Great update! The game is much more enjoyable now with the dynamic camera angle, especially in the two-way mode! Very recommended!
Thanks hvianna, I'm getting really positive feedbacks with this release. Even, I can't stop playing the two-way mode. I didn't think this will be so much fun when I decided to implement it
Thanks, the latest update enhanced graphics even more with 2X anti-aliasing. Still, the game runs @60FPS on iPad2 and above, and @30FPS at iPod Touch 4th gen.
Seen a few similar looking games to this but i've always been put off by them, i'm glad this one added touch controls so its not just tilt. Bought it, gave it a go, really like it. Must admit i was wrong as i wasnt sure i would enjoy it that much. Reminds me of an old 70's toy my parents gave me which was basically 'left right' avoid the traffic type of game. Not bad at all, very polished, enjoying this
Concern: The only thing I still don't get is: why are there 2 columns of cars in 1 lane? Suspicion: I suppose there should be 4 lanes but some how the lines are omitted. Statement: I am yet to get my hands on this... Surprise: Why isn't Connector here? I see this game shines on TV via 24-feet-HDMI(tm)
