DevM Thanks for all the great feedback. I'm really glad you tried the game and are enjoying it! We will be updating and adding more content as we go. We will definitely double check the difficulty of Deadwood. I'll also make sure to check the sound bug you reported! Thanks to everyone for coming back here and giving us feedback. Your efforts are going towards making this game better I assure you!
I realized this has not been posted - if anyone is more interested in how the mechanics work we have a great tutorial video of the tutorial level. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Just bought the game, just opened it and orientation is screwed. I have the orientation lock on at all times, and although unlocking it will fix the problem, it does tend to screw itself up again when my phone tilts back to the portrait position. I hope this will be fixed soon...
Hi Travis I'm sorry you experienced this problem. We found this bug today and it has been fixed and forwarded to AppStore certification. It will be out as soon as Apple approves - it should not be longer than 3-4 days. Follow our twitter @eccgames to all the latest updates. We will post here as well when the fix is live.
I just got to add, thanks for sucking up my free time, lol . Game is great and still enjoying every minute of it! As to what DevM posted, I agree the their should be some urgency in your units attacking, other than that no major issues.
The fact that the dev makes images and even animated gifs to announce posts or explain items in this forum just amazes me. Just wanted to say.
Im a huge fan of td games and this game makes it to my top 5 best td games along with kingdom rush/frontiers, fieldrunners 2, bloons td 5 & lastly pirate legends Still not perfect but im lovin every bit of it the only thing i could complain is the how i can be swarmed by enemies at the very start in other td waves usually starts with less enemies so you can upgrade prior to the next wave depending your strategy but i could also take that as a challenge I didnt regret any amount i spent on this game good luck to the devs and more future updates Add some iap but dont price it ridiculously like kr heroes
That was pretty quick work getting the fix approved. I've only had chance to have a little go so far and I'm finding it quite difficult, wondering if there's something I'm missing? I find it difficult to drag a rally point so I just click the building then rally then where I want it, when I kept trying to drag the screen moved instead. Also and more importantly getting my units to target specific units, when I click say my archer then press on another archer enemy it just clicks on him to show his info instead of attacking him and I also find it difficult to drag my archer to enemy archer which is why I try pressing on both.
Instabuy from me too And yes, I love TD games too. I'm a Kingdom Rush (1 and 2) player. Let me try yours Congrats.
Here are some tips: 1. If you have a tower slot next to a support building - build that tower for 50 gold instead of upgrading the existing tower for 200. Both actions give you one unit. 2. Leave your archers off the path - their ranged attack is much greater than their melee attack and they most likely have no armor (depends on the combinations you've got going) 3. Dragging rally points just moves your troops. Clicking an enemy targets that enemy. Your units will only attack that enemy if it is in their attacking range - that means if it is in the firing radius of your bowmen, or if it is in the swinging radius of your sword fella they will target him. 4. You should never have to click your own units - just mark targets if you want someone specific taken out - your men will do the rest. (provided the target is in range) 5. When an enemy archer comes move your sword fellas away, let the enemies approach down the path, then move your sword fellas in for the kill. Blacksmith units have armor which protects them from arrows so they can take quite a few hits.
With that said, folks, if you got the app and like it, please give the devs a 5 star rating in the AppStore. I have no affiliation with them. I'm just impressed with the app and their interaction within this thread.
Thank you guys so much! We're all very happy that you guys are enjoying the game and providing us the feedback we need. I've been passing it on to the team and they peek in here from time to time to see what you guys are writing. Thanks again!
Woah. I was hoping for an 'okay' TD game, but this is something special. Yes, it is definitely in a genre that Kingdom Rush nearly defined all by itself, but this is a very different game. I really, really like the micromanagement. The interface for moving troops around and such is very slick, makes KR feel crude by comparison. This game is fresh, polished to the point where you need sunglasses to play it, and a very worthy contender to upper echelon TD classics. To the Devs... Please make more content. Trickle out level packs for free like KR does, and have a whole other 'chapter' with new characters and stuff as an IAP add-on. I mean in the spare time you have making the sequel... One tidbit this game needs is a few death animations, the odd little enemy groaning and crumbling or slumping or whatever. This game is great fun. It is all about unit control, the tower placement is just one small part of the strategy. It makes Kingdom Rush feel... Almost 'static'.
I have troubles already in the third level, where you first meet flying units. Find it pretty hard to tell my archers to focus on them, any hints?
The flocks of birds (and they are most certainly flocks') are an immediate alarm to get your archers back as far as you can. The flying chicken power-up is critical to dealing with them en masse as well. Beefed up archers knock them out of the sky pretty handily, if given room.
That is what I like with this game, micromanaging. You need to move your way point a lot, and I mean a lot. Here's what I usually do. 1. Kill them with chickens. 2. Lure them with your units. If the archers are on the left, set your WP on the far right. When the archers are in range, set your WP on the archers. Think of it as hit and run. 3. Lure them with your units. Send other units to the archers when they are in range. Tapping on the enemy archers would prioritise target. Hope this helps.
