Right but I wasn't sure if that meant you could completely set them on the bottom of the screen as there are other assets there at the moment. Adding my vote for customizable controls.
Hey guys, We released Towelfight 2 : The Soundtrack of Destiny a few moments ago. If you really like the chiptune-esque music definitely go buy it. All of the money goes directly to our music guy, Joe Fraioli, who was a pleasure to work with and is an amazing composer. ALRIGHT I'LL LEAVE YOU TO YOUR STRATEGIES.
Really like this one, a lot! Only complaint is the controls , my sausage fingers always migrate off the pads... Any chance you can do a floating . Semi floating or realities touch dss config?
You'll get to poke around with some new control options next patch: And yeah, those are all hooked up, tested, and fully functional now. AW YISS. Also, OH CRAP WE ACCIDENTALLY DROPPED OUR D-PADS!
Awesome, that looks like exactly what will make this one perfect! I'm amazed how deep this one you guys put a ton of effort into the adding and upgrades, not to mention its funny too, very nice job, worth much for then the $1
Of course there's a CHANCE, although the bosses are laden with all kinds of whacky scripted stuff that would make them pretty weird for the arena. We'd have to to a fair bit of overhauling to make that feasible, but if there's enough demand for it, WE MUST OBLIGE! Since the discussion has turned to the arena, let's talk about the next patch! In patch 1.1 we're doing some overhauling of the arena system, reducing the number of "fixed enemy" challenges to a more sane number (5), and adding two Endless arena modes where you kill as many enemies as possible before being slaughtered. Of course, with the right setup you'd be able to kill enemies forever, right? WRONG. We're adding a new twist to the arena where every [X] enemies you kill, the enemies become stronger (hitting you for more damage). Don't worry, it does cap out at a manageable number. So the longer you last, the more imperative it is that you avoid taking damage. The endless arena isn't timed -- your score is your number of kills. Interestingly, using a "speed" setup like the El Clop might make your arena life much harder, because the more chaos you create, the harder it is to see what's coming to kill you. On the other hand, "the best defense is shooting animals out of your face so fast that nothing can stand in your way," as they say. We're pretty pumped to see what strategies people come up with. AND TO TOP THAT OFF, We've implemented a new NPC named Tim. You can find him out anywhere in the world once you've cleared enough rooms. Tim is an enchanter who has a shitty memory, but once you remind him of his various spells, he'll be able to give you five-minute magic buffs to help you beat the crap out of things via shooting faster, running faster, stealing health, reflecting damage, etc... FOR A PRICE, OF COURSE. We figured all you billionaires needed something to spend your tens of thousands of coins on, so now you've got some consumables to help you in the arena! ... For five minutes. All of the above is already finished; we're in the midst of testing it now. So far, no bugs, so the patch is coming along pretty quickly. And, of course, we have a batch of new control options. We're also looking into Game Center integration so you can post your arena scores online. No promises on that one, but we're working on it!
With how crazy the game is, you could just have their different forms spawn randomly as the current enemies do to simplify the scripting. I'm not looking for a fair fight here This is awesome. I'm not too worried about the chaos of El Clop, and I'll describe why once i respond to the next bit. Will these buffs be removed upon entry to the arena, the way you get a clean slate on everything else when entering, or will these be allowed to affect arena strategy? If the second, it would be nice if he were also available at home, as once I get this last relic, he'll be the only reason for me to venture into the wild--unless, of course, there are going to be new dungeons/relics/content coming out... Speaking of, is the map finite or can I continue going ESNW forever? I've been trying to spiral out between the three worlds for expansion of the map for the purposes of seeing if drop rates are different between the three worlds, so i haven't tried going more than maybe 40 squares past home in any one direction. As to why I'm not worried about the chaos of el clop: I have been playing this on the iPad4, and after the last run I posted tried your setup--I found the bunny and the basilisk to be inefficient in finding the stationary enemies that might hide in a corner, which slowed enemy respawn and in turn slowed building my relic meter up (you did better than I with your team by about ten seconds). So i thought about what seemed to be the best about both teams, and did this. (I didn't take the screencap with the congrats message on top, so here are two for verification). During this time, for the first time since getting it, I noticed my iPad4 experience a touch of lag. It was only for a short second or two, but now I know I can handle all the technical crazy this game and device combination can throw at me. There were two slip ups during this run in fighting a tower and not noticing a filled relic meter for a few seconds that probably could've cut my time to less than 6 minutes. Fake edit: I cant seem to upload two images from my pad on the same post, so consider the reply i make after this part of this post as part of this one. Mods don't hate, please!
See above post for explanation of the image. Typing all of that out made me think of something for everyone griping about the controls, well, that, and something about the screenshot changing from your latest build. I noticed the left control pad said "WASD," and I'm typing this using an apple bluetooth keyboard on my iPad with an Origami workstation. I've only ever used it, gaming wise, to play Frotz scenarios, but is it possible to use this as an external input for gaming in this sense? If so, I think I just found my absolute favorite control scheme!
Tim will indeed move into your home base and settle in the bottom left corner area, opening up shop for you. The buffs will persist into the arena. However, since they only last five minutes, you can't count on them to make you last forever. But they might give you a leg up. Also, the endless arena is free to enter, the enemies drop coins like regular enemies do, and you don't lose coins when you die in there. As we see it, the endless arena is for competing, while the fixed arena will be more for earning cash if you need it. The map is indeed infinite, although there's always the risk that if you uncover a bajillion rooms it might slow your game down (since those rooms have to exist in memory SOMEWHERE). However, each room is represented by a single integer, so it would probably take a REALLY long time before you saw performance problems.
Im tottaly in love with this game. I recommend it to anyone who liked Binding of Isacc. Its not a clone. It's reimagination. Kudos for the developers.
I think in my excitement to play I missed the tip on how to use the relics and now I can't seem to figure it out. I see a yellow bar at the bottom that appears full, but what do I do next? Edit: never mind figured it out, never looked down at the bar while battling.
When you are in combat, just tap the relics and they will activate. You'll notice that an "Activate" button appears on them when you are in combat. In other news, I'm wrapping up Game Center stuff. Who wants to help test version 1.1 this weekend?
That... is an interesting idea. There are plenty of ways to go about it, too. We'll mull that one over.
I can't help but notice how popular the Turtle 'Jectile is in all of the screenshots. I'm gonna have to give him another go. I may have moved on too soon! Good to see that I'm not alone in my love for the Shadowman though.
