Everybody has their opinion :\ But personally, I really dislike how Infinity Blade is getting GotY hype just because of its graphics. Content-wise, other games will run IB out of the park. As for Aralon, it could have been GotY, but it seriously was just released a bit too early.
I think it should be Aralon or RR2. After all it is game of the year, not best graphics of the year...
gave my vote to Aralon. despite all the bugs its still an amazing accomplishment for an iOS game and that's why it gets my vote. I really don't see how Infinity Blade has that many votes. sure it has amazing graphics but as a game its very repetitive and short and in no way deserving of the GOTY title IMO.
um... there are like 10 people voting. if mr. mustard knew about this poll, he'd send one meeelion minions to crush me.
I think that some of these games aren't 2010 games. I mean, Aralon, IB, RR2 and Street fighter IV are games released in November and December, and if I'm right years have 12 monts instead of 2. So, games that have been the whole year or sort of, like Angry birds,Cut the Rope or Plants vs Zombies deserve to win. They have been around longer and they represent better what the 2010 looked like. Then, I think the game of the year is Cut the rope/Angry birds, not the most recent games.
Hey crex, have you thought about eliminating some of the choices eventually? Certain games may not have high votes because many's opinion's are scattered among games with few votes. If you narrowed the choices to exclude games that have only a few votes (I don't think we have enough to do that yet however ), than the final games and eventually the top 2 games' votes would be more accurate and a true representation of our Game of the Year. I have heard many want to change their vote to another game because the one they chose has little chance of winning and the one they think is the true winner amongst the 2nd or 3rd place nominee. Furthermore, consider making another poll for iPad games as well (with nominations). iPad games should be separate from iPhones's pick IMO.
I voted for Infinity Blade, but truth be told Fruit Ninja and World of Goo are my go to games for my iPad
What about gameplay? That should be the deciding factor, or at least it is for me. The amount of content is irrelevant as a game with very little content can be way more enjoyable (and as such a far better game) than one with loads of content. The same can be said for graphics too. I mean if this was only about graphics, why isn't Rage HD in 2nd place? I suggest its because the majority of forum users don't like the gameplay in Rage HD (I do btw).
Whoops, yeah, that's what I meant when I said "content-wise". What I'm trying to say is the experience you get from the game, its quality, and its quantity. I mean, yeah Phoenix Wright has a lot of content in it, but the game isn't fun to me, so I don't like it. So yeah, definitely agree with you.
