No, it's more like 'prenominations'. Getting your list together before the real nominations start....
This is harder than it seems. I have a few absolute favourites which deserve a spot in my top ten for sure, but filling in the rest isn't nearly as easy. Luckily there is enough time to think about it some more.
So far for me... Forget-Me-Not Bug Heros Quest Death Rally Mage Gauntlet Jetpack Joyride Muffin Knight Gesundheit! I have a huge backlog of games that im starting to catch up on and I could see some making it to my top ten.
No. Nominations will begin on December 15. Take this time right now to start compiling your list and discuss about your favorites from this year.
Here's my pre-list -League of Evil---my favorite platformer by faaaar. -Bike Baron---awesome bike game, narrowly edged out Flip Riders -Death Rally---awesome top-down racer -Temple Run---my favorite endless runner -Sonic Racing----amazing kart racer -Rocket Riot---just picked it up this week, and i'm really enjoying it a lot. Probly not THE goty, but i feel it earns a nomination for sure. -Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7---assuming it comes out this year, lego harry potter 1-4 is currently one of my favorite games, and i think 5-7 will be even better -SF IV Volt---really awesome fighting game -Modern Combat 3---still behind the times and haven't bought it yet (lol) but if it's any better than MC2 was then it sure as heck deserves a nomination! -Infinity Blade II---should be better than the first one, and a feat to watch! (i did put in a few not out yet, but assuming they are out by the end of the year, they should be amazing)
Final Nominations: King of Dragon Pass Temple Run Jetpack Joyride Dungeon Raid Super Stickman Golf Scribblenauts Remix GTA 3 Sleepy Jack Blueprint 3d Infinity Blade 2
My pre-list will go like this: - Tiny Wings (best one-man work success story which I still play from time to time) - Swords & Sworcery (so relaxing adventure with awesome soundtrack) - Scribblenauts Remix (incredible possibilities of imaginations) - Dead Space (amazing horror experience) - Gesundheit! (cute, polished, fresh, great game) - Sonic&Sega All Stars Racing (best racing game with the perfect balance of fun and furious) - NBA Jam (sport game at its best) - Blueprint 3D (love it, just love it!) - Anomaly Warzone Earth (great twist of TD genre) - Amazing Breaker (totally under radar but it's a brilliant puzzle game) - Jetpack Joyride - Death Rally - Feed Me Oil - Infinity Blade 2 ??? - ...
Pre-list, in no particular order: 1. Modern Combat 3 2. League of Evil 3. Jetpack Joyride 4. Dead Space 5. Death Rally 6. First Touch Soccer 7. Scribblenauts Remix 8. Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing 9. Anomaly Warzone Earth So tough decision... Would've included Ravenmark, but hasn't worked well with my iTouch yet
random list of games that I think might make the poll and I have (haven't played all of em) Dead space MC3 World of Goo Anomaly Superbrothers: sword and sworcery battleheart mission europa (possibly?) SFVI Volt Scribblenauts LEague of Evil Jetpack Joyride Sonic & Sega All Star racing Tiny wings NBA Jam Touchgrind BMX Bug Heroes (when was this released again?) O&C Starfront probably the ones towards the front and a few later on are the ones that will make the list XD
If only Dungeon Raid and World of Goo are not from last year. Both are definitely gorgeous!! January 2011!!!
If I'm correct, the iPhone version WAS 2011, but the original release (ipad) was in 2010. Also, great list btw. Excluding bug heroes, I could see any of those games getting into the poll (nothing against bh, but there's no way I'd say that as a 'goty' at all for me...)
