Although I've been reading TouchArcade for a long time, I'm relatively new to the forums (as you can see by my post count). So stop me if you've heard this one before, but I was just wondering: why does TouchArcade use Disqus for commenting on stories, instead of having forum threads associated with news posts like MacRumors does? I feel like the approach MR uses encourages active forum users and on-topic discussion of specific stories. It's also one less account to keep track of (I have no idea if I even have a Disqus account anymore). Any thoughts?
I wish we did this instead. We are heavily integrated into Disqus now with the app. I greatly prefer MacRumors style commenting too.
OK, guess I'm not crazy then. Maybe a transition is possible once TA's future is more secure (i.e. the Patreon hits its goal). Thanks for the reply.
I really disliked using disguis at first but now I enjoy it because every game site I check actually uses it and therefore I don't have to make A new account for each site I visit just stay using the same one because they all use disguis.
