How does it run on iPhone 3G? (Because I know most people here use iPod Touch 2G and a few use iPhone 3GS).
One think I'm thankful for is smooth operation on my 1st Gen iTouch. I was a bit scared at first seeing as how some games don't operate as smooth on the older models, but I'm happy to see that Touch KO runs very smoothly.
well i picked this game up a couple minutes ago and i really like it so far. i made sure to turn my ipod on and off after i DL'ed it, but 10 minutes in i found myself back at the springboard. also, i don't like the lag i get when i start to throw combo's together. hopefully this will be remediated with an update. aside from those minor setbacks i think this is a solid boxing game. i agree with the lack of difficulty so far (15 minutes in) but i hope it gets harder. the easy fighters havent gotten out of the first round with me yet. anyone else get this lag?? i havent sifted through the rest of the thread yet. ill check it out after dinner. but for now. i say pick it up! with updates, this game will be worth the intro price! tkd
Wow, congrats to the devs on a great game. Yeah, the ai isn't amazing or anything (at least in the beginning) , but it's a beautiful game and more importantly fun. This game totally reminds me of the EA Fight Night Series and I would like to see some more contextual punches like Haymakers or something. Also the ability to create your own playlists and how they are displayed in-game is a very nice touch. Great game and a steal at only $2.99
Im a pro now and so far its really great. I personally think the AI is good enough. When you go up against hard boxers they block a lot and there punches are really strong. I went to the 5th round every time i went up against a hard boxer. it might be just me. I think this game is great, i cant put it down.
I just beat my first pro fighter! It's a fun game, but really not that hard... Yet. To anyone having problems with the lag, restart your device and they should be gone/
I still think the AI needs some tweaking but I found that the game does get more fun and challenging if you give it a chance and stick with it through the pro level. It's a fun game that I think will be very solid with some updates!
so, I'm at champion level. My record is 24-2-0 Have definitely gotten my groove, and find the matches very fun to play -- but I do have a technique that now allows me to TKO people in the first round. I'm not sure if the AI gets smart enough to adapt. requests: pause button, skip replays arn
This is not a bad game, but its just not what it could've been. Maybe some updates can change things for the better. One problem that was hard to overlook was that the gameplay almost seems as if its in slow motion. In fact, after you knock someone out it shows you the replay in slow motion, and its about the same speed as the regular gameplay! Please Chillingo, make the arm movement(punches) a little faster! Another key thing that would make this game go from average to great is the addition of online multiplayer. This game is still worth $3 to me even in its current state, but improvement updates are a must.
the gameplay is not that slow. I added some agility to my character in career and his punches got faster.
So, once you beat the championship match you can still fight people. But you don't progress past being "champion" in terms of tiers (I guess, obviously) arn
1 i hate rap, but i can deal 2 kinda easy... 3 can we turn off the instant replay for petes sake? 4 wheres the ref? what is keeping my guy from biting ears off? 5 no upper/lower punch? what if i want to work the guys mid section then follow up with an uppercut? game is ok, however i can see this getting old... just a first impression, however
The game is very good .very addicting as well! However I feel there are some necessary improvements: 1. Change the way the fighters fall. Right now they look like a Ragdoll . 2. Put an option to turn the replay off. It is very annoying . 3. I am running on iPhone 3Gs (OS 3.0) and I do think that is smooth enough, no lag, but some frame rate issues. I think the fighter could also be more polished .. 4. Put an in-game pause 5. Add an option to touch instead of tilt to avoid being punched 6. Add another type of punch (Stomach for instance) 7. The game is too easy .AI must be improved 8. There is a bug, I could equip my fighter with the one of the $30,000 glove without paying, it was free of charge, that happened right after I won the Amateur title 9. Add some online matchup 10. Use the Baseball Slugger formula for matchup online games
so I've played about 20 or so matches now and it feels like the subtleties of the game progress, well, subtlely. but I've really enjoyed it so far... the pro fighters at least start behaving a little more smartly and you can actually start doing some fakes and wear them down then pummel them when you get an opening... it's all fairly exciting I think... I'm not sure about replayability at this pointbut this is a really well made game. after throwing my headphones on though, I have a bit of a complaint....the sound in this is really pretty terrible.. there are some odd left/right fades with audience noise... sort of a really bad attempt at stereo effects and the volume levels really need work... the bell is a tad jarring and the music is about 3 times louder than the rest of the sounds! and why such a long load time to connect to some mysterious server? it takes longer for that than actually loading the game and the interface for it is ug-ly. still.... great game!
