i shouldnt have said useless... im just saying that your voices (or more accurately the developers voices which had to pay to submit their app to the appstore) should be more directed to apple, not the general populous of TA
Well, you are wrong here. You can do amazing deals on eBay. You just don't have to expect unreasonably good deals, and stick to sellers with solid, immaculate feedbacks.
yeah, but theres no safety net for being a dumbass. thats why infomercials exist and why all that crap proliferates ebay
Totally agree! The thread, the group might not STOP piracy, but it will show the devs that come here that we on Touch Arcade are different from other forums in that we care about them and support them. And in another way we can educate the ignoramouses that piracy is illegal.
do you think smokey the bear really stops forest fires? again, if you want to start a lame group and have a nice little sig then fine. if you want to support the devs get involved with their thread on the subject and contact apple to voice your concern http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?threadid=30771
Well naturally they know what they're pirating. And there's that % of how many people would have bought it. Nothing new. Again, same thing. Don't know what was the point of this. Yup, but then there's that variable again (How many WOULD have), so yeah. ======================================== I read it wrong, I know understand it, I thought you meant 5% of pirates would have paid for it if they couldn't have pirated it. Point taken. Already explained my misread. Already explained my misread.
It's not what I think, it what Appstore has proven already. Are you seriously going to defend that? Why do you think every one and their brothers are coming up with their own AppStore? Having a unified AppStore certainly works better. Look a few posts above for "midnight status"'s post (an iPhone dev in case u don't know). Devs would rather spend their time improving their apps then diverting their time an energy towards DRM. windows mobile apps do get cracked and pirated, sure, but thats up to the developers to integrate a security model into their apps. Huh? Who said anyone is going to have trouble adding their email and a few more info? I seriously can't imagine how you didn't get what I meant. Isn't it more trouble to find an app for your needs without an AppStore. Then you don't have any surety that it'll work. Next is payment. I definitely don't want to be giving away my CC info to some site I don't even know about. AppStore made it easy as hell for anyone to find and buy an app. I used to have winmo phones for a few years and I never bought a single app coz how would I buy it if I didn't even know it exists. What you are suggesting to remove is THE biggest reason iPhone is still selling great. Seriously do you know what you are asking for ?
while i hear what youre saying, im pointing at the fact of with the ease that money is taken out of my checking account when i click my finger on an icon on my phone, and the repetition of said activity, someone is making out. its very easy and it works, BUT dont cry about piracy when you have this scenario. thats all im saying
Yes, so let's ignore theft because Apple has set up an imperfect system. If you think a "lame group" with "cute sigs" won't make a difference, why are you debating us? Go back to pirating apps and justify your bad behavior any way you see fit. Statements matter. Morals matter.
this is why this topic is useless. politics and morals dont blend well on a iphone video gaming forum. and besides, the people that pirate apps arnt going to stand up and actually have anything constructive to say. if you want to support the devs, contact apple and tell them you cant sleep at night cause someone pirated some game you heard about made by some guy you dont even know
"Someone" is making out? How about the developer that spent their time and money on MAKING the game? Not just some random schmoe. Its the random SCHMUCKS that don't get that. You PAY for a product. Plain and simple. If you want to STEAL a product you are a thief. Just because Apple made a "store" does not mean its ok to STEAL from it.
Ok. I think I'm really dumb as I still have no idea why you think a unified AppStore is the reason behind piracy If someone else got What jdigitl meant please do explain it to me.
i dont pirate apps. just beacuse i know how its done dosnt make me a bad person and that you need to get all defensive... i think there should be a more constructive view on this topic, thats why. thats what makes forums what they are. this isnt a debate. it is what it is. im not advocating anything immoral when im asking people to do something more constructive than add a dumb little link to their already overflowing sig. if you think im trying to justify nefarious behavior, you need to go back to school and learn how to read
by someone, i meant apple in this case. it is rather simple. thats the problem. im sorry some of my posts are short and maybe not complete. i work for a living
In the month of October you have exactly 1 post in another thread.. why are you posting in this useless thread now?
because the devs balls are in apples hands. a dev with any sense would have a check built into their app for secuirty and individual licensing. because apple wont allow this, the single point of sale and apples policy = piracy
