Is it important that there is nothing at all marked in red on either of those graphs?

    Here it is
    [IMG]

Point is if people spend enough time on a game to get into the high score list then it has some value to them and a percentage would have bought it if it was impossible to pirate.

I really question the motivation of someone who continues to post in a forum they are obviously contemptuous of, whom it is painfully obvious is absolutely hated by everyone else, who seems to get enjoyment out of being looked at as an absolute, complete, and utter douche bag. I wonder what a person's life must be like to spend significant time at a place where you have the delusion that you are the only one with intelligence or valid arguments. I imagine it must be a sad, pathetic, self-loathing life that Mr. Spungo leads.

Except that that's the exact assertion which was somewhat strongly disproved by Reflexive's research on Ricochet Infinity, which was also conducted using pirates who were already enjoying the game enough to go online with it.

That's the problem with this debate - only ONE significant piece of actual research has ever been done into the subject, and the figures it came up with annihilate the idea that any significant percentage of pirates would likely have purchased the game if they'd had to pay.

This solid, empirical, real-world finding sits badly with the sort of clueless idiots clogging up this thread, though, so they simply ignore it and loudly insist that a significant percentage of pirates WOULD pay, based entirely on their own groundless opinion. The fact that this opinion flatly and diametrically contradicts the only serious study into the issue isn't something they allow to trouble them.

I really question the motivation of someone who claims to be ignoring my posts, yet can't help reading every one of them and then replying with empty, dull insults. Me, I'm just fighting the good fight. Everyone used to think the world was flat.

My life is absolutely super, btw, but thanks for your concern!

There is no way to prove or disprove what someone would or would not do. It is just common sense that if someone finds a game worth hours of their time they would have spent $3 to play it. Eliminate is free and people will end up spending more money on that game with in app purchases than if it was $9.99 because it is addictive.

Yawn. And on we go again, ignoring the fact - repeatedly stated - that I've bought over 459 apps in five months of owning an iPod, spending hundreds of dollars. Do you imagine that you're proving some kind of point by simply randomly throwing out half-arsed lies? (Apart from that you're an abysmally ignorant idiot, of course.)

Perfectly true, since nobody can as yet read minds or travel backwards through time. However, you can make a pretty well-reasoned and intelligent stab at it, which is what Reflexive did. So why don't you drop them a line and tell them all the flaws in their methodology, and why the answer they came up with when they actually conducted proper and serious research into the subject is so at odds with what your "common sense" tells you?

Reminder - Don't insult people - if you can't keep yourself from insulting others, you don't belong here

Unless the "others" are me, of course, in which case it's not only accepted but encouraged.

If you don't want to be called an idiot, don't be one.

Just to check where we stand - you're okay with developers blatantly plagiarising other people's games, but not with other forms of IP infringement, right?

All Spungo does is insult people. He either does it directly, or else insults our intelligence with his "arguments". He wants to steal with impunity. He doesn't like the group. This was well established. He is incapable of moving on.

Go through the rules again if you didn't understand them yet. Keep your language clean and no insults.

As far as stoneloops case is concerned, you'd know the reason why I support them if you go through the luxor and stoneloops thread. But wait, I only said you'd know. Not understand. So no point in explaining them to you here again. You lack the power to understand simple facts unless there's a big research behind it.

Also, Dave if you're reading this, I request you to lock this thread as soon as spungo makes a post. That way he'll have the last word on the topic. The only reason I can think of why he's just posting pointless post after another pointless post.
