I didn't realise The Silent Age was released late in 2012; like you I played it some time in 2013. Regardless, I'm fairly certain it'll be on my "best indies 2013" list unless anyone objects. Device 6: ditto.
Alright everyone. Let's try to keep this thread peaceful. There are no rules on clones. And as I mentioned at the beginning anyone who feels a game doesn't belong or isn't what you would consider "indie", you will get a chance to object AFTER the top 10 nominations are in. That way we're not nit picking on any one individual's nominations. And if there are any objections, I hope we can discuss things in a civilized manner. Oh, and liking many members old and new alike here, it sounds like I definitely need I steer clear of the Fight Club social club!
I probably need to stop responding to questions and let the end result take care of any issues. But Iesabel is very much an indie game. If I recall, I think it was the work of just one guy! Amazing stuff people can do if they're dedicated.
Yeah I knew what you meant; if we followed the rules to the letter then it wouldn't qualify. I'm sure a slight bending of the rules will be fine in this case, especially seeing as The Silent Age's Touch Arcade thread wasn't created until February 2013.

Hate to keep butting in but for obvious ones, I figured I'd point it out so noms can be changed. I think in this list Rayman Jungle Run (Ubisoft) and Minion Rush (Gameloft) aren't indie for the purposes of this poll. Any of your alternates would work though IMO.

Anyhoo, I've given out my last code for Momonga Pinball Adventures and I hope the recipient enjoys the game. Easily in my top 20 games of this year.

I personally think Ski Safari Adventure Time would count. I wouldn't consider them to be a "big" studio. Looks like they've only released three or four apps. But if it makes the finals and someone objects, the majority can decide. Sure the Ski Safari titles have been very successful but that doesn't make them any less indie IMO. EDIT: Didn't consider the Cartoon Network connection though. I'd say leave it in an see what happens.
