Where's Duet Game? Seems like a game genre you would love. I think it is the best game this week. And this is one of the strongest weeks in a very very long time. Will modify my vote since there seems to be a tie. Duet Game Rakoo's Adventure (to help EP out, though duet game is far better, though rakoo is a must buy too.) Type:rider - awesome game Cavorite 3 - fun game like Archibald EFD - nice graphics
Cavorite 3 (third time lucky) Duet (two to tango) Kami (paper view) Rakoo's Adventure (pretty kool) Dragon's Lair (when a game looks this good the game doesn't always have to be good)
Admittedly, I haven't gotten Duet yet, but hope you and E-P also check(ed) out Rollabear. It's going to be a tough choice for me between Rollabear (probably the most fun of this week's releases), Type:Rider (fantastically designed platformer/work of art) and Monster Adventures (great blend of genres).
Yeah, I got too many games this week. Rollabear, Costume Quest, The Mansion, Monster's Adventures, Random Runners, headless hd, adventchewers, 10, and some others get honorable mentions from me. But duet game, rakoo, and typerider were my favorites, of course with duet game #1. Efd has nice graphics, and cavorite 3 is cool too. First week ever, where I could actually nominate over 10 games and feel good about it. Never happened before. But it is hard to even play all the games, cause there are so many good ones this week, so my impressions might change a bit playing some further.
I'm in the opposite position. I WANTED to buy like 10 games this week, but really trying to reign in spending to some degree. And I have plenty of games to keep me going for years, but I keep getting more anyway. Four this week alone.
Forgot the mansion and headless hd to games I played, so that is 13 games this week, that I would have no problem voting for. Plus these 5 that I didn't play seem good - ring run circus, kami, drift mania, steampunk tower, and dragon's lair. So that's probably 18 games that I could nominate. That is crazy, most weeks, it is hard finding 5, this week, it is hard finding which of the 18 to pick. But for me, the top 3 is easy. Duet game, typerider, then rakoo's. i know in this day and age of fast price drops and early adopter blues, it is hard to try all of these on launch cause none are buck games, but hopefully at some point, all of these will get some recognition as some really awesome games, especially duet game.
Thanks to all who gave additional nominations, the outcome is more robust now. Increased participation in GOTW nominations sometimes makes significant different in outcomes (pushing Cavorite 3 from no chance to placing in the poll, Rakoo's Adventure increased several places, etc). Here are the final nomination results: Duet...............................10 nominations Monster Adventures...........9 Rollabear..........................9 Type:Rider........................9 Rakoo’s Adventure..............5 Costume Quest..................4 Cavorite...........................3 Kingturn Underworld............3 Kami................................3 ------------------Top 9------------------ Advenchewers...................2 Empire..............................2 Random Runners.................2 Spellcaster: Forgotten Spell..2 Warlord Revival...................1 [all others got 1 vote] Headless 10 The Mansion: A Puzzle of Rooms Spellbinding Dragon's Lair Escape From Doom
Woohoo! My 3 favorite games (Duet Game, Typerider, and Racoo's adventure) made it! Now the tough part, hope Duet Game beats Monster Adventure like it deserves. This will be a tough one.
Duet got my vote, it might have been type rider but it would have felt like cheating voting for something that I've been unable to play past the first levels due to crashing.
I voted for Rollabear, because they worked three years on that game, and Duet Game didn't take that long to make I think, but I wanted to vote for Duet Game because it's awesome, Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh I feel guilty now.
