I voted for Lion Pig. It's a great platformer that has consumed me for the entire week. Apart from not finding the last two Green Coins (yet), I have finally finished an iOS game from beginning to end! I have loved replaying each level trying to shave seconds off leaderboard times (1.1 and Andy's 6 second master feat!) and can not wait for the Halloween update...
oops i just voted for my own game, wandered in here half-asleep and thought "ooh i want to see what the votes are". doesn't look like i can remove the vote? so please ignore one of the votes for helix.
This may sound shallow, but the only reason I haven't tried lion pig is watching how slow he climbs the walls. That would drive me bonkers.
Yeah i mentioned that in the thread. The dev seems quite active and i hope this is something which is changed, for a good platformer its just way too slow climbing like you say
I get what you are saying. I got use to that pretty quickly and even though Lion Pig is slow to hit the wall, he kills it on the wall jumps! Plus, how can you deny LP's roar/snort?! Also, there is a Halloween update coming soon...so maybe the wall climbs will be tweaked?
Hey Lazer Kat, This was brought to my attention once before and although it didn't get into the Halloween update it will be in the following. I'll push out another quick update shortly after the Halloween release which will improve this wall climbing change. The only reason there was a delay was to give him a little character and show he struggles to scramble up the tree haha. I can understand from the speed perspective that this might get annoying even though I never initially thought so. I do read every post and will do my best to improve even the littlest issues people have, and this will be sped up 50-75%. The halloween update is a beast though and does include tons of new content, a new control option and lots more. Anyhow, thank you for your feedback.
I voted Lionpig. It was the game I liked most this week. Edit - potential issues of voting deleted. Undead cow will do this
I had early access to the game. Full stop. Period. I wasn't a tester, neither was I given the game early for testing. EDIT: Can we just keep these ****ing Game of the Week threads fun, for ****'s sake? It's posts like the above that ruined the Game of the Year thread a year or two back. The year prior, it got featured on the front-page and whatnot, but last year...because of a thousand and one godamn rules and a shitload of drama, Eli and the gang decided the whole thing turned into garbage and decided not to feature it, despite...whomever....working their asses off.
A few weeks ago, people were worrying about low voter numbers and trying to work out how to encourage more participants. We're not awarding Nobel prizes, so I'm happy to see more votes from newer or less active members. Personally, I'm more interested in the comments than the result anyway.
I do have to agree with metalcasket and mr bez. I still like the fun of game of the week even though I don't get the chance to play as many games as I used to. It used to even make me laugh when Connector voted for games he hadn't played yet. I voted for Helix because it's almost perfect.
As much as I like Helix I gave my vote to Lion Pig. It's a cool little speed running platformer that deserves a little more attention than it's got. The developer is adding more levels in a Halloween content update and I've enjoyed what I've played so far. Cheers, folks. *roar-snort*
