The winners of last week's Game of the Week poll are in…
First Place: The Wolf Among Us (9 votes)
    Second Place: Continue?9876543210 (8 votes)
Third Place (4x) Tie: Cyro, KingHut, Savant - Ascent, Space Hulk (6 votes each)

    Last week's thread:
    http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=211775

The first part is nomination where every member can vote up to 5 games to be included in the poll. Releases active before Saturday are eligible, weekend releases can be nominated the following poll. 10 games with the most nominations will then be added to the poll on Sunday. Poll will remain open until next Wednesday and whichever game has the max votes, will be Touch Arcade forum's Game of the Week.

    Please note:
    1) Developers, publishing partners, or affiliates cannot vote for their own games. If your game is in the poll, you can't vote. You are free to ask TA forum posters in your game release thread to vote for your game... but please don't post multiple messages about it.
    2) This voting is for TA members with some activity. If you have to ask someone to create a new account to vote, you're doing it wrong.
    3) Suspect votes may be void.
    4) Game updates, no matter how significant are not eligible for GOTW. There are enough new games to nominate that haven't been considered before.

Notice of this poll may be given in the threads of all nominated games.

You can see new games by looking at AppShopper.com and checking the "New" tab.

A lot of heavy hitters this week but I only got one game and it gets my well deserved nomination:

    Starborn Anarkist

That might be iffy since it was technically an update.

At least as much of a new game as GTA.

But GTA: San Andreas was never released on iOS prior to this. I'll leave the call to undeadcow on that one. When Sonic the Hedgehog was revamped and updated (to the same app), I don't believe it was considered.

It's hard because even with huge updates to games that can dramatically change them, I don't really recall any game previously considered in their first incarnation being allowed in future polls.

Doesn't matter to me either way. Just those kind of have been the rules.

I like the idea that if enough people nominate a game then it should count, this will allow the community to decide should there is some controversy. If people nominate something I'll count it for the most part (as long as there's been some progress/release with the app within the week's timeframe).

I agree the idea of counting updates is iffy so wouldn't prefer to automatically count all updates, but potential update eligibility for GOTW is interesting because in some cases updates can be very significant even incorporating sufficient expansion material.
Seeing ports incorporate new technology (like touch screen) can something be revolutionary... I'm not sure GTA is the best example but the play style can become very different with a port. For example, my opinion is WazHack is a lot smoother on touch than keyboard... Alien Shooter is another example.

Makes sense thanks undeadcow & awp69.

I didn't know what the precedent was, just pleased with this week's Sonic 2 release in general and think it deserves lots of attention.

LOL. Glad I'm not the only one bypassing the biggies this week: GTA, Lego Star Wars and The Room 2. And I'll have a big smile on my face if Angry Birds Go doesn't even make the poll :D.

I love GTA:SA... but Starborn Anarkist deserves my vote for providing something new, fun and really interesting. :)

    My Noms:

    The Room 2
    Lego Star Wars
    GTASA
    Ski Safari Adventure Time
    Starborn Anarkist

Havent really played much of GTASA, but it was good enough for me to be part of my noms. The other 3 in my noms list so far are fantastic.

Im really interested in Starborn Anarkist which i skipped because i was thinking it might be similar to that game that came out a few weeks ago with the procedurally generated and adjusting boss ship while you fight it with a dual stick spaceship. Ended up not really liking that one.

Maybe I should get Starborn Anarkist? What's the difference between this and that other one?

EDIT: played Starborn Anarkist, and yeah, it easily deserves to be in my noms list.

You can build your own ship and it's full on laser/missile/bullet hell dual stick mayhem against randomized waves of enemies and bosses. You have a ton of freedom in building your ship and customizing your playstyle, there's a wide range of weapons and parts to use, and this game is true premium. It may have two IAP currency packs, but the game just throws money and new parts at you so IAP is never needed

Read the thread, it's nothing but pages of praise
