Nobody knows, but the only free game on the AppStore today is Jenga but nobody wants that.

 

Yeah I DL Jenga, it wasn't so much fun :/

 

So far they have said what game it actually was the day after so tomorrow we might get to know.

 

I think that went free previously before. Didn't PocketGamer mention games that never been on Sale before?

 

I don't think tomorrow will be the firm, it just doesn't fit in with the rest of the awesome picks in my opinion.

 

I think it's going to be "a journey down". It says it's been free for several hours on appticker.

 

If this "never been free before" thing is true, then it won't be that. It went free around the time of the second instalment. Get it if you haven't, by the way. One of my fave new point-and-clickers after Gemini Rue.

 

No way it's A Journey Down. 1) It was released in 2012. So it doesn't meet PG's "Games released in 2014" criteria. And 2) it's been free 5 times before. So it's not a first time freebie, which I don't believe is one of their rules, but based on the first 3 freebies, seems to be what they're going for. But the 2012 release date is the givaway that this isn't a PG givaway. Now maybe Chapter 2 would work....

I think the only criteria is for it to be in the giveaway are it was released into 2014 and it was highly rated by PG. It didn't mention anything about it never being free before. We were just lucky.

 

It's not The Firm. Its description says "it's free today with AppGratis", so that's not PG.

Dang it! I called it, but I didn't want to be right this time.

 

Pocket Gamer's Christmas givaway just got a little stale. This year's best games? Well, maybe 2012's.... No one can blame TA for posting this one first. I am no way knocking the quality of the game, just PG's picking it for the best of 2014. At least admit they're reaching a little.

 

Why not give out episode two, that would fit in the criteria, right?

 

yeap, the "this year's best games" and the "never gone free before" criteria went right out the window. The second part that came out this year would be completely justified.

in my experience, this statement, like other things PG, should be taken with a grain of salt, as they say It's great that they are making stuff free through their site, even if they don't hold true to their own criteria.
