I'll be the first to admit I haven't had an IOS device that long but here is my top 5 from the games I've bought. 1: Galaxy of Fire 2 2: Real Racing 3: Game Dev Story 4: Defender Chronicles 5: Space Miner lots of other good ones but at a push I'd say that's my top 5 I do have a lot of others that I like though.

It's not me but you that quote it. Yes, "they aren't anywhere near as good", if that doesn't make you feel them very tedious it's because you are an extreme fan of fps. If you wasn't that extreme fps fan you would have preferred iphone games in another genre that are brilliant even when compared to other PC games in same genre. But yes that's fine, it's just a bit strange to put in a "Top 5 best iphone games ever" such game which "isn't anywhere near as good as modern PC games". There isn't a top 5 as there are so many excellent ones...but my current favorite 5 that have been a constant on my device since install: -Modern Combat 2 -Words With Friends -Chaos Rings -Homerun Battle 3D -NFS Shift (better than Hot Pursuit IMHO) Modern Combat 2 is a definite hall-of-famer
The title of the thread says top 5 iphone games ever. It does not say, only games you can't compare to games on a pc or console so they look like crap. Modern combat 2 does a lot for advancing fps on the iPhone and is a great stand alone title. Plus the multiplayer is fun. I am pretty adamant about the FPS I play, as I played them at a high level for a long time. I see in no way how Modern Combat 2 detracts from that on the iPhone. My top 5 - Game Dev Story (GotY in my Opinion. I actually made a game in Game Dev Story, called Game Dev Story, that won GotY. Mind = Blown) - Space miner (This is what solidified for me, that the iPhone could be an amazing game platform. I loved it so much) - Modern Combat 2 (Heads and shoulders above every other fps on the iphone, and the multiplayer is a blast.) - Doodle God/Doodle Devil (I can't explain it, and I don't question it, it's just fun, and I always get excited for the next patch.) - Chaos Rings (Proving once again what an awesome platform the iphone can be for gaming.)

Tilt to Live (Can't believe how intense this game gets... in a matter of seconds) 4. Babylonian Twins (I had almost given up on platformers on iPod touch till I played this. It's got brilliant concept and controls)

In no particular order: Prince of Persia: Warrior Within (A whole console game on a portable iDevice.) Tilt to Live (Awesome use of the accelerometer) Revolt (Best DSS) Jet Car Stunts (Just awesome.) Run! (Fun running game) Well it's really hard to squeeze all of my favorite games into only 5 but there we go.
