Criticism of Oblivion only means one thing: You haven't played it yet. : P Aralon looks absolutely gorgeous, and as open-ended and sandboxy as they come on the iOS. The story has to be good (this is Crescent Moon here, not Gameloft) and the hype may not actually come close to meeting how awesome the game itself is. Everything I've heard from the beta-ers has been overwhelmingly positive. Skip this, and are doing yourself a disservice.
Sure have played more than half of it was only a nightmare during sleep. Tedious fighting, awful main story totally lacking of credibility, shiny graphics with zero mood, a gameplay totally designed for taking the player by the hand hence very boring, and much much more.
Those are newer games featured on the App Store. From someone who's been around for a long time in the magical world of apps, here's my cool list: 1. Spider: Secret of Bryce Manor 2. Infinity Blade 3. Eliss 4. Canabalt 5. Zen Bound 2 6. Grand Theft Auto 7. Touchgrind 8. Edge 9. Jet Car Stunts 10. Enviro-Bear 2010 11. Labyrinth 2 12. Beat It! 13. Kometen 14. Super Mega Worm 15. Rolando 16. Samurai 2 17. Game Dev Story 18. Geodefense 19. Call of Duty: Nazi Zombies 20. PHOENIX WRIGHT: ACE ATTORNEY!!!!
Nightmare during sleep? You sleep-played? Or are you perhaps thinking of a different game? Tedious fighting: It could be in first or third person. You could use melee weapons, ranged, spells, or summon creatures to do your bidding for you. You could allow NPCs to engage for you. You could sneak around and engage from the shadows, or use invisibility, or full chameleon. Rarely is there such depth in how to engage enemies. Sorry it wasn't god of war. Square Square Square Circle next... Main story lacking credibility: Whaaaat? The main story was epicly crafted. *****SPOILER ALERT******* Where else can you find a medium where Patrick Stewart dies 3 minutes in? *****End Spoiler***** The side-quests were all beautifully written as well. This isn't WoW's "Go hunt down 20 squirrels" "Why?" "BECAUSE I SAID SO LAKJALKGOAIULO!!!!1111oneoneone" Zero Mood: A living, breathing game where the NPCs walk around and interact with each other - even when you arn't there. Dynamic day/night, an obscene amount of ways to interact with NPCs and the environment, NPC "perma" deaths to really personalize a persistent world, and tons of free-roaming spots for you to discover yourself that have nothing to do with missions. You could spend forever just wandering and enjoying. Gameplay designed to take the player by the hand: This really seems to indicate that you haven't played this game. The level of intricacy and open-endedness of professions, customization and exploration are often TOO MUCH for lesser gamers. A roomate of mine spent 50 hours before he even finished the first part of the main quest. Oblivion was practically an MMORPG without the MO. I decided to make my character specialize in summoning. My roommate went as a warrior. You play however you like. Anyhow, you are entitled to your opinion, and I am entitled to mine. Luckily, though, more people share mine : D in 2007, PC Gamer named it the best PC game OF ALL TIME. GameSpot called it one of the best RPGs of all time. It has won more Editor's choice and Game of the year awards than most games in recent memory. It recently adopted children from a war-torn country. Oblivion donated bone marrow and rescues puppy dogs. You can't hate it. /Back to iOS discussion
It's a good ritual. : D Every month, some new amazing games challenge the contemporary top 10 list. This month looks to be especially dynamic. It's a great time to be a gamer!
1. Drop7 2. Words with Friends 3. Robotmaster 4. Shibuya 5. Plants vs Zombies 6. Any Donut game(Action Buggy,Rat on a skateboard etc) 7. Parachute Ninja 8. Cut the Rope 9. Flick Kick Football 10. Any runner game(Monster Dash, Run like Hell, Mirror's edge, Little Runner, Action Hero, Gravity Runner..)
I believe I can hate whichever games I want! And I DO hate that game. I played it, did the main story, most of the guild lines. HOWEVER, I played Morrowind before playing that game. And Oblivion can't even hold a candle to that masterpiece. The plot was boring, the only parts that were interesting were the assassins guild line. That game can win awards and critical acclaim all it wants, in my eyes its terribad, just like FF7. Yep, that just happened. But on the Aralon topic, when I see it, I see Oblivion's art style, but a more WoW playing style with that skill bar at the bottom.
No particular order 1. Jet Car Stunts 2. Space Miner 3. Sword and Poker 4. Game Dev Story 5. Phoenix Wright 6. Hook Champ 7. Reckless Racing 8. Galaxy on Fire 2 9. Samurai 2 10. Rimelands: Hammer of thor December 16th may change this list. RR2 looks amazing and so does Aralon.

People also like reading sentences that make sense. In no particular order: Phoenix Wright MC2: Black Pegasus Red Conquest! Dinosmash Online GTA: CW COD: WAW: Z Real Racing Nova Infinity Blade Galaxy on Fire 2 Probably isn't my true list, but meh picking 10 out of over 600+ paid apps is a chore. I hate casual games xP. By next week, I think Nova 2 and Aralon will have replaced some of the titles on this list.
Luckily, I am here to relieve you of said belief. You are not actually allowed to hate whichever games you choose to. A perfect example is Tilt to Live - no gamer (casual OR hardcore) is permitted to hate that game. Nor are there slots left in the "Bash-FFVII-to-be-reject-trends-and-appear-edgy" bandwagon. That train left the station long ago. Seriously though - if you hated the Oblivion story depth, you better HOPE Aralon isn't like WoW. The WoW lore is so twisted, convoluted, nonsensical and contradictory to the actual live gameplay experience that you can barely accuse it of HAVING a storyline. Every few months it's just "another evil threatens existence...stay tuned for the next episode of Dragon Bal- er, the World of Warcraft!" And the quests, as befitting a grind-oriented game, often have no collection to the story and just "Collect [arbitrary number] [random object]s."
