Thanks i was getting my ios's confused! Never mind, I have the psone and ps2 versions so will have to make do.
This is literally the game that introduced me to video games! All I need is some money in my account and this baby is mine!
I still can't figure out how to make it work with iCade. Nothing in the controls settings. The menu layout is horrible.
having recently beaten the latest TR game, was eager to roll back the years and see how it all started again. seemed to remember firing it up on an old pc and hating it but age can change things ... or not. horrible controls, just like I remember, and no auto save meant a good 20 mins of ploughing through a level again due to my ineptitude nah not for me, though hardcore TR fans will rejoice I guess.
Try going to settings for your device. Find the game on the left and from there you can make the change.
I find myself liking it with the hd textures and filtering off because it looks more like the PS1 version, but also some of the higher def stuff looks weird.
Looks like I am the only person who cannot make the iCade to work (yes, I have selected in the menu at Settings app)
I just switched it on from my device settings (and remembered to turn on my Bluetooth as I forgot the first time ) then it works, the menus and everything work with the icade.
My previous message says I did have it selected... And the whole world seems to miss my even earlier message: I am using an iCade-compatible stuff but I run Stealth Inc. using it just fine with all the button working. (Not to mention Kinetic Damage) Off-topic: does iCade Mobile from ION works without connecting to a device? I use iPhone 5 and can only find 30-pin version.
thanks for explaining the manual save options. I guess only the automatic save is unreliable then. I can play now
Any time! To clarify, the "Save when Minimize" is on by default and you can find it at the Settings app and "Tomb Raider" section.
I'm surprised this came out. I recall not really liking it. It was an early 3d platformer and compared to Mario was not overly impressive. For $.99 I'll give it another go. TR2 was my favourite in the series, I hope it comes out eventually. Even if I don't keep this around more than a day, I'll count it as a vote for the next one coming out.
Get an iCade 8-bitty. It's a stand alone Bluetooth controller in the style of an old NES controller, but with the layout of a SNES controller (4 face buttons with 2 bumpers, start and select). They are about $30 and work on ALL iOS devices (.........even........wait for it.........IPAD!). That's the best solution I've found so far.
ThinkGeek is out of stock and the shipping cost to my place is almost as costly as the device itself... ION's iCade mobile is on sale here but I am wondering if it works without a device attached to it (well, I am aware it looks very odd and oversized this way)
I was going to get one but I've read the button mapping is bad. A lot of what I've read people mention that a lot of the games you end up using the shoulder buttons.
I cannot help but thinking the implementation is very poor. Most iCade-supported games do retain the touch screen control even when iCade is enabled. The only shiny example of iCade implementation I come across so far is Kinetic Damage, which actually allows one to customize to button layout on iCade device. Hats off!
Yes/no. The engine in Anniversary lost some of the fluidity that existed in the original games movement and indeed some of Lara's moves.
Speaking of control schemes, can we have support for Keyboard via Camera Adapter kit? I played the original game with Keys and that's what feels most natural to me
