It works absolutely great with Moga Controller, you may not trust my words as I work for Square, but it really does (I was surprised myself ).
Enough whining guys, I was 27 when this came out. Old and crotchety. Damn straight, but still playing video games and probably will when I'm 70.
Youngsters, you know. Spoiled and ungrateful. They don't know how good they have it with all these fantastic modern PC's, consoles, handhelds, keyboards, gamepads... they have no clue about all those pains we've suffered for them, so that they can play all this in today's brilliance. Loderunner with a C64-keyboard. My fingers still hurt when I think about that..
This came out on PC in 96... I was a PC Gamer subscribe at the time and got a demo disc. Such good memories. I was 22 and closing in on the end of getting my 4 year degree in computer science.
Omg, a Monster 3D video card! I remember those and me going out and buying the latest and greatest voodoo graphix video card like the week after! Man, I went through video cards like cupcakes during that time period! Ah, the luxury of being a newlywed with no kids and disposable income! How things change! But I played this mostly on the Playstation when it originally came out. I was in the military then and this was a duty day luxury I would afford myself after the workday was done!
Enough whining about how "old" you kids are! If it really came out in '96 (it feels much longer ago), I was 33! So the Trophy of oldfartedness belongs to me and me alone. Muaahahaa Muahaahaaaaa ;-)
Ah, I must be the oldest fart of all, since I was 43 when I played the original Tomb Raider. It is hard to believe, but I was actually blown away by the graphics at the time, after recently having purchased my first Pentium based computer.
While I appreciate this huge flow of nostalgia coming from the thread right now (And I bought a 3DFx card back in the days too), I think it's time to get back on topic
Yeah, but one last note, because you all are wrong with your "I'm the oldest"-contest. We actually have a gaming lady on the forums which is now 68 years old. You n00bs. And stooney just lost the "king"-title to David.
I played the first level last night and saw "game saved" at the end. Fired it up a minute ago - no saved game - nowhere. Pity. Guess i wait for a fix and keep exercising the moves and co.
When this first came out I was just celebrating my 112th birthday, I must admit my reactions are a little slower today
Yes, along with some others here, I did buy a Monster 3D card, and actually bought that card to play Tomb Raider with the best graphics possible at the time. (I also bought that card to play Quake with better graphics)
Hi Bronxsta! The game runs perfect in my phone. If you only care about performance, then buy it. If you care about controls, then you should be OK buying it (there's only one or two minor issues). If you care about your eyes, then you will need to play for short sessions (screen is too small for this game!)
Played this game when i was 17 and finished it on the PC. The puzzles were really awesome. But now, these controls are REEEAAALLLYY annoying and very hard to learn. Even just steering Lara while she's running is a pain since it's like steering a driving game using touch arrows. Even the "look" button has you pressing on the direction buttons to scan the area. This one needs swipe controls BADLY for steering when running and when using the "look" mode. Still at 0.99c it's a steal but after buying, wait for an update to the controls before playing. TLDR: the controls are HORRENDOUS!!!
