The series has never been about espionage. With all due respect, I don't think Jared knows what he's talking about here.
WOW. Looks amazing. All thanks to Gameloft finally abandoning outdated devices. This looks miles better than modern combat.
The enemies in yellow haz-mat suits looks 2D...along with everything else in this game. Gameloft should spent money improving and optimizing their graphics engine before churning out another clone. For a game like Rainbow 6 series, I expected more realistic, darker colors, but instead Gameloft painted it like Puppet War: FPS, all bright and cartoon-ish. The thing with Gameloft is that instead of changing their developing method to fit the series, they try to change the series to fit their developing method, this way they can shit as many games as possible with minimum cost to develop. That's why every Gameloft game feels the same, looks the same. Just my 2 cents.
I kinda like this "cell-shaded like" graphics. More importantly I hope the gameplay is good, fast paced and responsive. And hoping for some good pvp too.
Well said! To be honest, I was a little but disappointed when I saw the screenshots. Gameloft needs to up their graphics engine And congratulations on your 100th post, we're both seniors, woot woot!!
I liked the screens, but as I scrolled down the pics I got to the last picture and cringed. It reminded me of the graphics you would find at an arcade machine shooting game. A mix of realistic and cartoony that usually doesn't work. The other pics were fine though.
This. I was immensely disappointed when I saw the screenshots. The amount of detail/fill rate is fine, but the colors look too un-natural and the character models look like they're from TF2. Not something you'd expect in a modern warfare game. They need better lighting and shadows for sure. Shadows are so low-res.
I agree that the colours look a bit exaggerated, but how do you mean the shadows are low-res? The environment shadows look fine to me. The character shadows are obviously simple, but dynamic shadows are very rare for iOS games.
Maybe it's because of the view of the screenshot, but close up those shadows are very blurry/pixelated. A common issue in all AppStore games. From a distance they look nice, but close up quite crappy. I'd really like to see anti-aliasing for 3rd gen devices. It would give Retina Display level clarity on older devices, but so far only Real Racing 1 and Zen Bound 2 have used it.
