This game is a must have IMO. I've spent hours and still haven't beaten everything, I would of paid at least 5 dollars for this game. Defiantly pick it up while its free.
yup, can't freak'n wait for #2... this is one of my favorite slingshot/platformer games. =oD If you haven't yet... get this now, and get ready for the sequel!
Any reason in particular you didn't like it? Or was that just sarcasm? I think it's pretty enjoyable (still haven't finished it, unfortunately).
Oh wow, that sucks. No mention of ads in the update description only "bug fixes" Anyway no big deal for me. Never could get into this game. Didn't find the concept fun and hated the "shooting in the dark" aspect. The game is good and polished though.
Everything about the way they did this is disappointing, especially from a (formerly) respectable company like HotGen.
Sneaky and completely disingenuous. Many previously enthusiastic customers supported HotGen and now have their game screen plastered with this fugly, intrusive banner as a result. Guess I'll have to dodge this update until I'm done with this one. That goes for the sequel too, who might very well get "gimped" any time soon.
Yeah, I had lots of respect towards HotGen before, they were very kind on twitter, still are , but what they're doing is just stupid...
I got this for free back in July and yes the 1.9 update also gives me an ugly advert during gameplay. (Good thing I had 1.8 stashed away...) Does anyone who actually paid for it get ads too? If not then it's still a low blow but not quite so low.
Yep, I paid 1,99 for the HD version and get those big banner ads at the bottom while playing the game. Totally baffled why a company would alienate its customers this way. Will not buy from HotGen again.
Yeah I also paid for it, about 3 months before to-Fu 2 was released, and had ads, before I deleted it.
I was a huge fan of this game, and pushed it to all my friends and family, who ran out an bought it after trying mine, so it's especially sad to see such a sneaky, underhanded "update". NO mention of ads, just "OS5 compatibility fixes". Instead, a large banner ad now squishes the screen, makes the To-Fu move jerkily, instead of smoothly, really affecting the game's play, and also crashes my game constantly. HotGen might be playing "nice" on Twitter, but when I posted to their Facebook page last night pointing out that the "free" version they were pushing had been removed from the app store and ads inserted into the paid version instead, and politely asked why existing users weren't grandfathered in with no ads, my post mysteriously disappeared this morning. I've reposted using a little stronger sentiment, but I won't be surprised to see that disappear to, unanswered. I'm saddened by their sudden turning against their loyal fans and really wonder what's behind such a decision? I posted a bug report (about the jerkiness and crashing) to Apple, and rerated the app a 1 in the app store as I can no longer play the game in its existing format.
I didnt know that was possible. makes their decision to force ads on users who have paid all the more dumb.
I own several other games that switched to ad-supported formats and in-app purchases (Gelato Mania and Clowning Around being two that come to mind), and when they did they said as long as you didn't delete the game from from your device, you'd never see an ad or an IAP (for previously freely-available levels), which so far has proved true. So unless something changed with OS5, I'd guess that's still possible. I'd love to know for sure. Any iOS game developers on this forum care to chime in?
