As mentioned before a floating d-pad would help so much with running in the wrong direction. Also nice would be if it wasn't "always running". Sometimes I like to walk, especially in towns. Floating d-pad with progressive run speed would be nice to have!
Oh. That's terrifically useful, thanks! On another note, ugh. So I'm on a 6+ and in the last 39 minutes the game has crashed 2 times on me. I'm now constantly on edge. Just waiting. Waiting for that crash. Anyone else running into this issue? I did a restart and that helped with frame rate issues, but man the crashing is infuriating.
iPhone 6+ ( Rollback, a full day ) Played most of the day yesterday and some today. Was level 10 or 11, duel classed with mostly Blue gear thanks to the Centaur boss being easily farmable. I save on every log and logged for lunch today. Logged back in after lunch and I am now level 6 again with no blue gear other than my sword. The unlockes in Game Center still show that I have dual classes etc, but my gear and char are gone. So somehow I rolled back 12 hours or so.
I haven't played the iOS version yet (as long as there are Infinity Engine games left unplayed on my device, there is just not room for another mobile epic isometric RPG in my life and heart). And while I did think the TA review was almost exclusively spot on and very nicely written (in particular the focus on the lack of multiplayer), there is one small passage I took some issue with, and want to add another perspective for those still tottering on the rickety ancient hellenic fence: The setting was definitively always the biggest draw for me in Titan Quest*. But beyond my hellenistic hard-on, Titan Quest also offers very rich, quite complex character progression that - if dived into with min-max abandon and a stomach for wiki perusal, talent calculators and forum gravedigging - certainly humbles Diablo 1/2 and many RPGs of the time (isometrichacknslashaction or otherwise). The physics engine was another notch in Titan Quest's segmented blade**. Hits are crunchier and blows land with more oompfh, magical projectiles offer up their best meteor impressions when they scatter satyrs and make small pockholes in the land, and sickeningly limp ragdolls flop and twitch about the scenery with more gruesomeness than perhaps any other RPG of the time. This engine was notable enough to be highlighted by Crate Entertainment when they licensed the engine for Grim Dawn in 2009, an age of game engines positively unreal, and was often discussed as a strong point over Diablo. Perhaps in part because of those physics, and probably also thanks to other small tweaks in the combat mechanics, Titan Quest always feelt more twitch-y and rewarding and demanding of skill than Diablo/Sacred. Silverfall emulated this feel beautifully, and the Torchlight franchise used similar techniques to bring more action to their action-RPG with success, also adding in more options for swift mobility. But in some ways, Titan Quest physiqued stronger still, and still does (Path of Exile, for all its un-called-for but smart innovation, still lacks that punchiness). So, I'm just sayin', there are reasons beyond platform scarcity and setting to get yer Homeros on. * And even now, I'm itching to get back to the ancient, rolling, golden-brown and sun-flecked fields and richly hued patchwork quilts of gently swaying firs and pines of mythified antiquity... and slug every everything that pops it head out of said woodwork. Perhaps the Sword Coast and Ten-Towns can be put on hold, after all. ** Those dudes seriously didn't realize that extending the blade down through the entire hilt would make it more durable? n00bs!
I had something similar but luckily wasn't far. I had got to level 3.. Saved it on my iPhone 6. So decided to test on iPad mini 2. Once I got in-game realized my character wasn't there on iPad. So loaded it back up on my iPhone and it had my character but level 1 again. Haven't had this issue since but I've only logged in an extra hour or so.
Honestly the physics was the main reason I got this game. I love ragdolls , D3 does it perfectly makes combat feel so rewarding. This game does it quite well and wouldn't have bought the game if it wasn't in. I'm weird like that
Totally agree Ayjona. And you get +1 for mentioning one of my most favourite non iOS games of all time, Torchlight.......(drools)
Yeah for me its not even playable when a game lags a bit i cant play it as why i bought the mini 4 but it doesnt even wirk on it
Uppercut axe to the face on saytrs = one hit kill comedy gold! The body slams into all kinds of stuff. Thanks physics!
Controls are F** broken! They don't work at ALL from time to time; the frame rate is so low when I fight multiple enemies at a time, it feels like a real cheap experience; plus crashing when playing long sessions, so I think I had enough of it rn. Hopefully DotEmu will fix these problems (I've seen others having same problems when playing on iPad Air) This should be the greatest game ever ported to iOS, instead the unresponsive controls, low frame rate and crashes makes it for me just a broken game!
the frame rate is ok, but not smooth and ruins it a bit. Trying to use assign attacks is hideous. I am getting controls freezing in heat of battle and player can't move causing annoying deaths. Cloud save is borked. Game progress is not kept in sync. Battery usage is also very high. Game has potential to be the best, but some critical bugs are crippling it. Ipad air2 and 6s here. Hopefully these issues can get fixed very soon. Good effort dotemu, but should have delayed release until it worked properly.
Yeah I had a level 7 that rolled back to level one. Weird thing is that the first quest with the horse was done, but the next one in helps was not. I just started a new save altogether after giving feedback on dotemu' site. I'm thinking if I save and exit out properly it won't go wrong. I had paused it and saved, and left the game at that in the background. Maybe they had something to do with it? What's your experience?
I'm playing this on both an iPad Air 2 and a 6s Plus. It runs great on the iPad, but I notice my phone heating up immediately. It has occasional stutters on both, but it does that on PC as well so that doesn't bother me much. iCloud doesn't appear to sync either. Clearly it still has some bugs to be ironed out.
OMG I experienced the same! I can't even ask for a ####ing refund for this shit game. I won't play 3-4 hours gain - are u kidding me?
iPad Air for me - I've experienced a few occasions where the commands are not responsive. But I would be really irritated if I lost all my progress. Hopefully Dot Emu sends a patch soon. Not sure if I should play until then.
How do you dual wield? I put points into the mastery but it wont let me equip 2 small weapons with 1 in each hand?
well I finally got iCloud to work. My iPad with my level 1 character transferred to my iPhone level 10 character all that hard work and it is gone ugh.
