The developer of Pcalc posted on his blog about how you can get the "creation date" of your app to be updated in the AppStore. This is relevant because with the recent changes to how Apple lists apps in the app store, updates to apps don't count and so you can work on a major update to your app and release it, and still be on page 20. The trick he explains will get the creation date to be as recent as the date of your most recent app update, and thus get you back to page 1, which make all the difference in the world.

I haven't been able to understand why Apple made that change in the first place, as it devalues supporting apps and releasing major updates to them, and instead encourages developers to abandon apps and just keep making new ones.

  2. My tip for developers is use this widget to view reviews of an app or game (just punch in id) in all 62 countries app stores. It shows which country, how many stars and the reviews unless too long chops them.
