Retina may cause it to lose the current watercolor like effects though. And I don't get what is the deal with game center? You will only be missing a couple of achievements right? There's still OF so to me that's not too bad.
It means you have to stay in fever mode (star trails behind you) for 34 seconds in order to get the achievement
There's a trick to that challenge. Once you're in fever mode put the device to sleep( just hit the top button) leave it asleep for a minute or so and go back to the game...objective complete!
I'd call that a cheat rather than a trick, but clever non the less. Glad I didn't know and wasn't tempted - I did get the 34sec achievement
I'm stuck at 10 jumps, too. Thanks for the hints. I assume it has to be 10 jumps in a row, right from the start, right? I get really frustrated and keep re-starting the game after failing at this! I suppose it will come in time, but I'm tired of my wretched old nest.
You are right, what worked for me here is this: jump on the first slope, the third one, fifth, seventh, and so on.... do small jumps without getting to high. release the screen for a second while going down (gaining the right, slow paced speed (if this makes sense) needed) and press quickly after to do small jumps (and trying to to skip one slope each time). hope it helps
mfros, many thanks. I'll take your advice. I really need to learn how to/practice slowing down in order to hit the sweets spots without error. Until now, I've not really understood how to slow down when necessary. Okay, here I go. An Aside: Just want to give props to all of you on the TA boards. I read them regularly, for every game I play, and think they are far superior to any other game-oriented forums I've found. Lots of grown-ups here, intelligent and helpful and this website deserves lots of love, methinks.
It worked, mcros! Very good advice, and now I can stop re-starting the darn game over and over again every 20 seconds, what a relief. Another question: When your guy is in the air, just leaving one island for another (in fever mode or not) is it to your advantage to ground him as soon as possible to get more gold coins on the slope? I've been assuming that's true and that it doesn't slow your momentum. Thanks again.x
This may have been asked before, but the thread is just massive. I've never had any problems with any of the objectives until this one at x24: "Reach the 4th island without any great slides (arrow)". By this point in the game, sliding has already become kind of a reflex and is hard to avoid. And I always seem to be a few seconds too late when I am able to avoid sliding properly. Any advice? I actually don't like this objective much at all because it's not fun to achieve and rewards players for going slow rather than FAST.
I haven't gotten to that yet, but I agree that it doesn't sound fun at all. Bad choice for an objective. Oh well.
Be a land bird. Touch the screen when going uphill so you lose so much momentum you never even go into the air. You'll spend most of the game touching the ground. When you do wind up airborne (as you will when you hit a speedcoin), just aim for any upslope as a landing zone.
