I noticed the changes too, and it does make me smile However I've only seen 2 patterns changing back & forth...not sure how many different patterns are there.
The x26 objectives are a giant smack in the face. The game might as well be shouting "get a lot better loser!" Lets see, go from 122k to 175k with about an 8% score multiplier to help, AND get to the 8th island, when I can hardly ever get to the 7th. Well at least I can just play without worrying about objectives.
It changes at midnight daily. I have noticed 3 sets of patterns thus far. One of them had little bumps that are very distracting.
I had a lot of problems with this, too. Until I realized what I was doing wrong. In my case, I was holding down on the screen too long, so instead of speeding up my bird as he dove, I was actually slowing him down as he rounded the bottom of a valley and started up the next hill which artificailly limited the height. I was able to dramatically increase my cloud touches by holding down on the screen for a shorter period of time. The difference was huge! After I adjusted my play style just a little bit, the bird really started jumping off the hills. The first game after I realized my error, I nailed all of the cloud touch objectives in one run. Basically, all you need to do is get your bird pointed down towards the next hill. Let the momentum take care of the rest. I obviously don't know your play style, but I would suggest actively trying to decrease the time you touch the screen. I'm now stuck on the X26 objectives. I can't seem to do any of them. I'm really close, though. I managed to get to the final downslope of island 7, but the darkness caught me before I could gain speed. And, I increased my top score to 158,000 yesterday. I just need to keep at it. I'm hoping that one of these daily background changes gives me the perfect contours to finish off these objectives.
Right on the edge of jumping to island 8, 172k score and having "one last perfect landing after island jump", the night caught up. FML
It looks like there are other people with this problem, but on multiple occasions I have had a perfect landing as the first landing on the island 5 different times, but it has yet to register. Are there any other factors? I assume they don't have to be in a row, or during fever mode, or a stand-alone swoop? Maybe I'm talking gibberish now but I feel cheated out of this objective
Landing a perfect landing onto island 5 does not achieve the objective because at island 5 you've only had the opportunity to land 4 jumps (you start on island 1 ). You need to land the jump onto island 6 as well. Or, if you mess one up, you need to land the jump to island 7. I keep screwing up the landing onto island 4. I have a hard time with those steep curves.
I can't help but wonder if you're referring to the part of the tutorial that specifically tells you not to touch the screen as you slide uphill.
Yeah, that! However, in my defense, I didn't realize that my timing was that far off. I didn't really think that I was holding my finger down too long, but even a minor adjustment made a huge difference in the height I was able to reach.
I'm quite sure it's not registering the objective. I did the following: Perfect slide from Island 1 to 2 Perfect slide from Island 2 to 3 Perfect slide from Island 3 to 4 Perfect slide from Island 4 to 5 Perfect slide from Island 5 to 6 That's 5 perfect slides on island transitions, and no objective completed.
I reached Island 8 accidentally while doing another, earlier objective. I don't suppose it will count once I get the objective to reach the 8th island?
YESS I DID IT!! haha I think I had to get 6 island jumps right to unlock that. Its probably just a bug, thankfully islands 7 and 8 were gentle slopes there
