So you will give a app that has reached #1 in the charts, because you can't play your music?? Wow. It's a great app, and if you can't tolerate going 10 minutes or less without hearing your favorite song, that there's a problem.
sorry guy, that is a problem. this isnt a psp or a DS. its a multi-functional device. if im playing a game and want to listen to my music, i should be able to. if i get a call, id like the game to resume where i left it. its 2011, these things are easily implemented and developers choose to leave it out, only to get bashed and have to add it in future updates. 1 minute, 10 minutes or an hour...its all the same. and just so you know, being number 1 in the app store doesnt mean its perfect for everyone. it means people like it for the time being. his personal opinion and lack of being able to play his own music during gameplay is why he took off a star.
Yesss!!!! got all the accomplishments woot i can now just play it every day and hope and wait for more achievements
Maybe they should make it so that you can unlock the ability to play your own music, even pretty easily, like the second set of goals or something unlocks it. That way the dev gets you listen to the built-in music at least for a bit. Myself, I think the music is integral to this game, and it's not like I play this game for hours on end. It's not that type of game, so being able to play my own music is an utter non-issue. But if it is an issue, make it an unlockable.
At 20x, finding the 10 slides on the first island difficult. Still havent been beyond island 6, but pretty sure I've been very close.
I'm having trouble with the 10 slides, pretty sure I have gotten 8 or 9 a bunch of times. 5th island with no fever is rather easy though, you just have to watch the bonus points for a perfect slide and count them - fine to get 2 in a row, but just dont allow yourself to get 3.
Should be pretty easy avoid getting to high and dive after clearing a hill. keep speed low and should be fine.
No, no problem at all. The APIs are already there, all a dev has to do is implement them. If they don't, either because of laziness or because they're arrogant enough to believe I shouldn't have the choice, that's at best a B effort in its grade no matter else what it gets right. I don't slam devs for not having retina support unless it actually impacts the visuals noticeably. I don't slam them in any way for lack or inclusion of achievements, game center, open feint, etc.. But I do judge a game on how well it embraces the platform (games that don't support fast switching unless they at least autosave also get downgraded). As someone who is listening to hours of podcasts, audiobooks, and music while otherwise engaged in a busy schedule I simply don't have the inclination to waste devotion to a single task that is a game, and a very casual game at that. I really like the game, don't get me wrong, but it will be played a lot less with its mandatory game soundtrack than it would be otherwise. It simply makes no sense to not implement the choice. Users who like game music can keep it on. People like me can listen to their own audio. No one misses out on anything. Not supporting iPod audio in a game is just turning off a significant number of people because you were either too lazy or too arrogant. I don't know which category the TB dev falls into, but it is a mark against an otherwise nearly flawless mobile game.
Wow... a dev is either too lazy or too arrogant when not supporting iPod music in a game? Interesting perspective. I would have thought there were other possibilities That aside, its always good to have features that we expect to be available by default, because like you said, the platform sort of necessitates it.
Hey everybody - I've been reading this thread a little bit and the option to play your own music comes up a often. Well, on my 2nd Gen Touch, if music is already playing and I launch Tiny Wings, the game will automatically mute itself, my music will play and the bird sounds are over everything a bit louder. Even if I double click the home button for the music pop-up and hit pause, getting back to Tiny will keep its real music off and I only get the bird/sliding sounds. So if it's a weird glitch on iphones, then I'm guessing he can "un-glitch" it in an upcoming update?
I'm sure the dev is keeping track of various bugs (if he's actually reading feedbacks and not still in shock) and working on updates. Welcome to TA Danmar, not a bad first post!
Well, either he knew he could have put it in but chose not to because it would have taken extra time, i.e. laziness, or he knew he could have implemented it but didn't believe anyone should be able to play the game without his carefully constructed game music (that oddly reminds me of some Lady GaGa song), i.e. arrogance. I suppose there is the third possibility: ignorance, in that the dev just couldn't figure out how, but the rest of the game is polished enough I figure he must know his way around the iOS SDK well enough to handle audio stream selection properly People can quibble with whether my terms are too negative all day long, but, really, it's an OS meant to support multimedia smartphones and (mini) tablet devices. You can't just ignore that if you expect to get perfect marks.
Thats just the stupidest thing I've ever heard not to mention an insult to the dev. Once again the selfishness of some iOS gamers rears its ugly head. Sad, truly, sad.
how is it selfish to want full functionality from your device? do you realize how ignorant you sound? also you failed to point out how im insulting the dev.
The developer said that earlier in the thread that was how to do that the ppl who are moaning should just read the thread first . A lot of games do it that way in my experience but thanks for bringing it too there attention again as I was abou to do the same
Straight from the devs mouth about the music. I wouldn't call that lazy or arrogant. Sounds like an honest mistake. That was comment #201 where he made that.
