The outstanding game SILVERFISH is also a one man project and is damn good, also very well polished (by the way try their lite, i recommend it) showing us that is posible to achieve such a great game made by 1 man. And im sure there many excelent games out there made by one man that i dont know of.

If the top grossing charts are any indication of anything then Tiny Wings will likely be sitting in the number 2 spot for awhile. It is the #6 grossing app, behind CoD:Zombies, NBA Jam, 2 freemium games, and, oh yeah, Angry Birds, which is sitting at #1.

Pretty sure just the colors change...I've been playing for 3 days and the shape of the islands haven't changed. Just the colors and plants/rocks etc.

The shapes have changed for me, along with the graphics.

Not sure where 'sob story' comes from re: the developer. He just seemed surprised and flattered by the attention given to the game.

    Behind you!
It actually does seem that occasionally, some of the islands will change shape slightly. It's not dramatic, but islands that I have gotten quite used to have changed slightly, but enough to where I notice the difference. If for some reason I'm wrong, those procedural graphics are dang good at fooling me. He was very smart to implement those, and I really do want to play the game every day just to look at the pretty new colors :D

Logical, thanks for this terrific video. For me, it's still aspirational, but it's fun to see what champs do.

Games great, but i not nearly as much variety as Angry Birds which could hold it back...but as most games that are sudden it's like this it will probably just pass Angry Birds for a day or so then stay in the top 10 for a week and slowly fall down... but this could be different.

I don't think he's playing the sympathy card considering he's getting tons of buzz on the strength of the game alone.

Cute little game actually but I think this game will soon bore me, not really a lot of variety. You gotta be kidding me the only unlockable are those nest? and from the second is almost imposible to get.

This game needs a lot of additions to surpass variety of Angry Birds (game that personally think is overrated)

I would say Tiny Wings is the most successful game that has taken off viral... It's quite amazing really because there has been no marketing involved, it's just been word and mouth.

Cut the Rope had a load of marketing behind it to achieve it's fast climb and Tiny Wings has had non but people spreading the word.

I would say Tiny Wings is the fastest climbing game on the App Store, period!

Impossible? The objectives only starts to get challenging from nest 5 onwards.

Probably only dreaming about that swim now as he's yet to get his hands on the $$. ;)

Well, you get the idea, I haven't played too much actually :p
My point was this game is kinda overrated at this state, but it got lot of potential, love the gameplay.

God knows the app store needs more evidence that it's possible to fly - despite having 'tiny wings' - and we love an honest to goodness success story.

It's all the more impressive and surprising when you consider in the 2 year history of the app store with 50,000+ games no other single game (and there's been some truly great ones) has ever amassed 1000+ all 5 star reviews almost overnight.

    Quite an accomplishment. Congrats Andreas.

Pretty cool game, but not the "next big thing" as some would want you to believe. I really dig the visual style though.
