Much like TRB4 I'm out, but for a different reason. I dropped my iPad at work and the screen shattered, the funny thing is I had my previous iPad for three years and nothing happened so when I bought the iPad air I declined the insurance. Needless to say I'm out 300 bucks if I want to get it fixed. Since all I do is play games and surf the net I may say the hell with it and buy the cheapest android tablet I can find.
If you do get an Android tablet, TTV is available on the Google Play store as well, and you can re-sync it with the game you were playing on your iPad. I have the same tower available on both my iPad and my Android phone.
Sorry to hear you are out, you always offered a lot of analysis and glad you'll still be around. This has got to be the longest I've stuck with a game and still consistently playing a lot. Just saved enough coins to build 5 floors to get to 47. My plan is to build 5 at a time so I always have the extra floor being the casino. I'll earn enough bux to immediately upgrade all coin foors to 7 and suites to 10. I see your point though of the constant grind. It will prob take about 10 days to get enough coins for my next 5 floors to get me to 52. And so could be over a month before I get to 60 so who knows if I can't stick it out that long. Plus my elevator is only 5.5 and would like to get it to 7 which is going to cost a ton of bux. It's just one of those games that's so easy to play while your doing other things
The lag is getting really bad on my 5s, is this going to be resolved anytime? I've loved this game and don't understand what the problem is with today's phone capabilities... Has anyone else noticed performance issues?
Depends on which lag you mean. I'm running on the iPhone6 and the lift stutters on and off for no apparent reason. Most likely some kink of the unity engine that was never fully ironed out. But if you're over 50+ floors and the whole thing is sluggish - I was given the stock response of we'll pass that on to our programmers when I asked Nimblebit support on a previous 70+ floor game on a 4S. I'm only coming up to 40 floors now, so I can't speak on whether raw horsepower is the only real solution here without optimising the code further. (No offense to @eeen )
I'm at 49 floors, so it could be hitting that wall. It's mostly using the lift, and going from the top to the bottom of the tower quickly by using the shortcuts that whoosh the whole tower by. I was getting bad stuttering all around though when I posted before, seems to have disappeared now though. I really like nimblebit but I'm a bit surprised by this and the lack of resolving these issues quickly if other people are experiencing the same things too. I'm not about to quit yet but it's definitely a drag (literally!!)
I'm at 53 levels and currently not really experiencing any lag on an iphone5. My lift is 8FPS and I wouldn't say it's as smooth as it was when it was say 4FPS, but I wouldn't say it stutters too much either. Skipping from the top to the bottom is reasonably quick and doesn't stutter very much. If it makes any difference i'm still on iOS 7.1, could it be an iOS 8 issue?
It could be! I'm up to date with iOS and even tried to reinstall, but no luck hopefully an update soon can fix it!
Sad to see you go because I, personally, learned a great deal from your posts. Thanks so much for your strategies. In a post quite a while ago, I said I wondered how many people would actually finish this game, given that it became so time-consuming/grindy so quickly. I loved TT & remembered feeling a real sense of accomplishment because I WAS accomplishing something at a steady, reasonable pace. Devs learn from the mistakes they make & in TTV, among other things, making the upgrading of floors more virtually expensive was a big mistake, IMO. That & the seemingly petty but equally expensive upgrading of the elevator. It's truly a shame for I essentially like this game & it's outstanding in other ways I've mentioned before (graphics, sound effects, animation, game within a game [gambling], etc.) but I'm finding that I play less & less. Would it be unfair to change the rules back to what they once were? Not in my opinion. After all, the beta testers & users in Canada, as well as other early adopters, had a distinct advantage for they played under different rules. If it were up to me to make suggestions, I'd also change the number of chips for finding bitizens/objects to every 10 floors, not every 20 (<--simply too overwhelming). The latter reason is why I've stopped building at 42 floors. If I want the fun of seeing new floors or playing different casino games, I can visit others. What I'm missing out on is new characters & new missions. Not a big deal. I said early on that I couldn't see myself finishing this game & that is still true; the thought of building all those floors, updating them, & then doing missions is beyond my ability to comprehend in terms of time, mathematics or no mathematics, TRB4. When I actually stop playing, I'll let all of you know so you won't be wasting your chips. I admire all of you here who have the stamina, patience, & time to continue to build/update. And I wish NB well in all their future ventures.
has anyone elses game started crapping out when viewing ad videos? It keeps crashing once i hit 'free chips' button
Yes, i had that happen a lot. Is your iphone/ipad low on physical memory? I have the suspicion that when the ios-internal cleanup process is run, some cache files get messed up. Re-installing solves the problem. Be careful, when the crash happens you lose around 3-5 min progress.
According to the NB site, this is a "known issue." This is what NB support wrote: "Video Ads Crashing: We apologize for the delay on this issue. We are working with the video ad developer to resolve the crashing and will have it fixed asap. Reinstalling the app may resolve the issue. Please be sure your game is backed up before reinstalling. See our FAQ on backups and syncing for more info here."
Changes in Latest TTV Update Given the unexpected & unwanted changes in the last update, I'm hesitant to update my iDevice until I get some feedback on what changed with this version. The downside is I can only gift those who haven't yet updated (about half of my friends so far); those I've been gifting all along will not see any gifts from me until I do update. Does anyone have any feedback/opinion about the latest update?
I was a little leery also, but updated today and don't really see much of a change. Prices did not increase. I track my take on gaming and have been doing better than usual but that is probably a coincidence, but it doesn't looked they made game returns any worse. I average about 23 a chip on slots and a little less on BJ. I don't play poker much bc returns are bad but did hit a 10 bet full house today for 3K after updating The double chips exploit with watching ads on iPad is still there. I haven't gotten a BJ yet to see if the hitting stand exploit still pays you twice but I'd imagine it's still there. I don't see anything that should keep you from updating
According to the reviews for this version, they didn't fix the Halloween lobby. Just great. It was the only Halloween item I changed. not updating
Hmm the fireworks appear to be buggy for me. During the weekend, noticed the firework popping up during the day, on sunday my counter resetted was on about 76 before that I believe Today I notice i haven't received notification of any fireworks at all :| The free games are there, just no fireworks available. On a hunch, I just force closed my TTV, upon reopening theres the fireworks. edit: Just noticed a new xmas themed lobby available (as well as the classic lobby from TT) Notice that endgame (1PN4V) also has a matching xmas themed lift. I don't see the lift available to purchase though. Can anyone shed some light on this?
