    *slaps forehead*

I guess I was expecting to see him walking around like everyone else

Edit: after a few weeks of hoarding chips, i decided to try my luck for a gold roof.
Currently sitting at #20 with just shy of 50k bux. I've used roughly 1,500 since the start of this round.

What's surprised me was that yields from slot machines are surprisingly high, I always assumed that it'd be terrible (like in real life) but at the moment i'm averaging over 30 bux/chip

Good luck Frowny. That's a lot more effort required than earlier on... but given #TA is at 2.2mil and our humble #TALEAGUE is on 74,000, you're certainly messing with the big guns

Thanks corky, currently sitting at #15 with 82k bux. Still have 1.6k chips in reserve, but unfortunately timezone isn't on my side. The round will finish before I wake up, so I'll see how I go in the morning.

Incidentally I've been spending all my bux earned on lift upgrades. Now at 8fps i think I'll leave it there, it's starting to get difficult to read the floor numbers as they blur past.

I got lift up to 12.5 on my previous game - any faster and it'd be off the top of the screen! That was on 4S resolution though; might be you can push it towards 15 on ipads and such... I've seen 20 and it just becomes silly:eek:

Hey GrDawg. Love how you've gone with all astronaut costumes... are you saving bux up for the nasa lobby/roof?

There is a calculation at http://www.tinytowervegaswiki.com/wiki/Casino#Slots that shows the expected payout of slots at 21.3 bux per chip, so you've had a really good run if you are recently averaging 30.

I have a question about the Fireworks Display. I have run them now for 100 days in a row. Is there a top limit capping the returns?

I didn't do the exact math, but I seem to get approximately 400 bux and anywhere from 5-10 chips per day for the display.

Now that I'm in the triple digits for "number of days in a row," I feel like I just cannot miss a day to reset it back to 1..

So yah, is there a formula that will show what I may get when I hit 200 days in a row, or am I likely capped now?

Thanks, I did it for 2 9 dream jobbers per floor to make it easier for the find missions. Even if I get a 3rd DJ 9 on a floor I won't change him to astronaut so I can always swap out that spot for DG. I'd rather get the chip than worry about having 3 9s. I didn't really have any intent on getting the NASA lobby/roof bc I don't like spending bux on that stuff since it costs so much bux to upgrade elevator speed and upgrading floors, but now that you mention it it is a good idea.

When I realised you only had 2 in costume I figured you were swapping out the 3rd one for the chips. It's a strategy I'm sure lots use, but yours is especially good since there doesn't seem to be any astronaut missions… I'll email nimblebit immediately and request they put a new character in with several astronaut themed missions:D haha.

Yikes. I'm already finding that i have to stop my elevator here and there to work out where I am and whether i've gone past my target level. @ 20 FPS i'd imagine a lot of time would be spent trying to not overshoot :|

I did indeed have a very good run at the time hitting triple 7's multiple times, however the tail of it didn't fare as well bringing the overall average down. Final score for me was 82k bux earned from ~3200 chips averaging ~25 bux/chip. Law of averages I guess :)

    welcome to the club :)

    I don't think I like this new game…

I'll take a punt on 10 chips I thought; what could possibly go wrong?

The computer seems to have an ungodly ability to avoid busting. I wouldn't be surprised if it weren't skewed in their favour.

Edit : strange thing just happened

Also decided to try my luck with a couple of 10 chip bets.

Won the first game, 300 bux.

    2nd game delt A K (21), spammed the stand button like i usually would. Computer drew K A (21)
Usually, I would receive 800 bux for the 21 and then 150 for the push.
This time I received 2 push notifications, 150 each time for 300 net.

    What just happened? :S

I guess i'll double check how many bux i received in a few minutes when the player club totals update.

    Edit 2:
Just confirmed I received 600 total. Hope this is a once off freak bug and not indication that nimblebit are onto the 21 trick.

Haha, I did think about what costume to use that would stand out. I was considering the pumpkin also, that would have been really confusing with all the Halloween missions/people

I had the same thing happen yesterday, house got 21 and I got the Push reward for the second bonus payment. But just now I had 21, house got 20 and I got the full double reward, so quirk is only when house also gets 21. What are the odds of both hands being natural 21s?

    Somewhere else
Don't know about the cap or any formula but you're one lucky person! My count has reset twice so far & the first time I was at about 40 days, more or less. The second much less than that but still a loss. A few others have noted the same thing.

You're right, however, in thinking that it's a clever way to keep players logging in at least 1x/day.

As RoboBoto said you only get a double Push if the dealer also has a natural 21. If the dealer gets to 21 with 3 or more cards than you'll get a "21" win and then a Push as the second win. That is the only time when it ISN'T beneficial to try the double 21 trick, but also as RoboBoto mentioned, what are the odds of you AND the dealer both getting a natural 21 in the same hand? Overall I think you'll still come out way ahead by using the double 21 trick even if you very rarely get a double Push instead.

By using the double 21 trick you'll get one of the following results:

If the dealer has ANYTHING EXCEPT a 21 you'll get 2x the 21 win amount (+100% winnings)

If the dealer has 21 with 3 or more cards you get a 21 win and a Push (+18.75% winnings)

If the dealer has a natural 21 (2 cards) you'll get 2x the Push amount (-62.5% winnings)

I'm not sure if my calculations are correct, but by my math the odds of you both getting a natural 21 is as follows:

Odds of you getting an Ace dealt from a freshly shuffled deck 4/52 = 7.69%
Odds of dealer getting an Ace dealt after that 3/51 = 5.88%
Odds of you getting a 10 or Face card after that 16/50 = 32.00%
Odds of dealer getting a 10 or Face card after that 15/49 = 30.61%
    Odds of ALL of those things happening in one hand is 4/52 * 3/51 * 16/50 * 15/49 = 24/54145 or 0.0443%

So you might lose some winnings 1 out of every 2256 hands, but it shouldn't be too detrimental to your overall winnings. Good luck!

Thanks for the analysis, I do agree it's still better to go for the double 21. I was more concerned about it being a sign that the loophole was being closed.

Though from what I can see, it hasn't :)

No problem, actually in the interest of full disclosure, I'm only really here for the math at this point. I haven't played TTV in over a week, and I can't really see myself regaining interest unless they add some sort of significant feature to the game play. So if you would like to unfriend me to make room on your friend's list for someone who actively plays, feel free. I will still be lurking this topic for any fun math or strategy posts, or answering questions for new players, but as for the game itself, I think I'm done. It just became to grindy and repetitive.
