No notifications? I just got a new phone. One of my first steps was to download TTV and sync it to my cloud. The game is working just fine, but I'm not getting any notifications. I've changed the in-game setting back and forth and deleted and reinstalled the game. I also don't see TTV listed in the phone's notification settings like I did on my old phone. Any tips? iPhone 6 iOS 8.0.2 TTV 1.1.1
Don't think there is an "etiquette." It's up to the individual, how they feel about tipping. Is it only if YOU have the game, how often they play, a fairness motive, or something else? I tend to be a daily tipper. My motive, aside from fairness, is I enjoy playing the variety of games others have. It costs me nothing & I often gain quite a bit if I win. Every now & again I go through my screenshots of gifts received to eliminate people who don't reciprocate. With the gifting bug only recently fixed, I've been particularly slow to delete people to keep my list manageable. And intermittent special music. And witch as "find" announcer. And some newer missions involving these characters. And an abundance of Hallowe'en themed characters arriving at tower. All nice touches.
I had the same thing happen on re-installing Extreme Bike Trip on my new iPhone 6 (before 8.0.2) - it doesn't show up in the Notification settings list or the standby screen! I'm afraid I have no answer - but I'll give it a look see and see if anything sticks...
Well unfortunately I am literally unable to tip ANYONE who has updated beyond version 1.0.1, so I apologize to everyone who visits me without me returning the favor. Trust me, I TRY to tip back everyone who visits me, but unfortunately NimbleBit has made it so that players can only visit player's that are running their version or LOWER and I have no plans to upgrade until they release an update worth installing. It sounds as though the only things I'll get by updating now are a few new roofs and lobbies, higher floor upgrade prices, and less ads. Sadly it seems that this Halloween content is only available in the new version. As I said, I am still on version 1.0.1 and I have not noticed any new Halloween content However, that is still not enough reason for me to upgrade.
Since it's not a new mechanic, just a skin, you're not missing anything. On another note, I was doing some thinking on Dream Jobs and odds. With 82 floors that are not hotels or the lobby, there is a 1-in-82 chance of a new arrival being a dream jobber for a particular floor. I'm guessing a 1-in-10 chance of that person being a Skill 9 for that job, so a net 1-in-820 chance of getting a gold star for a particular floor. For each new floor, I'm guessing you need about 246 (82*3) arrivals on average to get 3 stars of any skill. My arrivals comes at a pace of 60-75 seconds each, so 4-5ish hours of gameplay to 3-star a new floor. In that time a lot more gold and silver star Bitizens for other floors will arrive. I have 42 floors right now, of which 33 are non-hotels and not the lobby. So 33 out of 82 or roughly a 40% chance of each new arrival having a known dream job (not a "???"). It's interesting to me that the potential chips income from dream job placement rises quickly as the tower grows. But it's worthless basically for me because I like to dress my gold star employees in appropriate attire which costs 25 chips, or somewhat more than the value of the chip. I guess I'm too lazy to do the swap around that others do. Just feel like I can earn that chip doing a few elevator deliveries that I'd miss while doing the swaps. Out of my 33 floors, 18 already have 3 gold stars. I have been surprised how quickly I've gotten to that point. Just my thoughts, I'd love to hear others' experience or approach.
Yeah, C'mon 2B9N! Introduce yourself to the best TouchArcade crew that doesn't have a number tacked on the end. And well done Lorena btw. I'm guessing you've got a lot more chips saved up than I do
I'm finally able to put a name on a face, i've had you on my list for awhile and note that you're a regular tipper. I also have roughly 30 people on my list, made up of people i've added from here, and random visitors (who I just give a name) From time to time I do remove a bunch of non tippers. I've often wondered the same thing, and I behave exactly the same. I dress up all my gold star employees to match the level, (though some levels can be difficult to match) out of my 29 non-hotel levels, 21 have 3 gold stars. Leaving me with about a 1/10 chance of earning a chip from a DJ. IMO if I wasn't so finicky about gold star DJ's and dressing them up, i'd probably be able to make a fair lot of chips, but meh it's a game and we all choose how we interpret to have fun edit : I see there's a few more additions to the TALEAGUE club, I guess a number of people were waiting for the completion of the last round before jumping ship. I've added everyone from the club to my friends list so far but unable to work out who 2B9N is. Oh and I have high noon poker
Initially, I harvested codes from this thread to fill my friend list with 50 players. Every day I would visit each and every one of them, but as we've seen, not everybody returns the favor. But I wasn't too upset about it; they way I looked at it, you have to play casino games anyway to convert chips to bux, so why not try other games in your friends' casinos? If you get the return visit, great! But if not, you haven't really lost anything. It's not like other Nimblebit games where you have to pay for the "privilege" of sending a gift to someone. (WTF was the thinking behind that?!?) But on the other hand, if you do have solid friends who reciprocate by playing in your tower, that becomes a Free Play for both of you. You spend a chip to play in their tower, but you get that chip back when they play in your tower. So there is potential for > 50 free plays every day if you have active friends! So lately I have been taking advantage of the new VISIT SENDER button. Instead of going through ~50 friends on my own list, I have only been visiting friends that have the current event casino plus the handful that I know always play in my tower. But with the new button, I make sure that I always return the favor by playing in. So if any new player (not on my list) gives me a chip, I guarantee that they'll get one back.
I currently have 52 floors, of which 41 need employees. 36 of those have three 9 dream jobs, and 4 have three dream jobs (but not all gold stars). Only the most recent floor has less than 3 dream jobs. I find that in the time that it takes to build a new floor, I can collect three DJs for the most recent one, and I can usually get to three 9s within another 4-6 floors. It feels like it will be easier to get a "complete" tower (with every possible gold star) than it was in the original Tiny Tower, so I like that. At this point in the game, about 50% of the applicants that arrive in the lobby are for floors I already have, so I am fairly sure that this is the biggest chip source for meeven more than the missions that reward 3 chips. I like to keep my 9s (and they are mostly costumed), so I do play the "swap game", but I don't find that to be excessively time consuming. A little bit "grindy", but tolerable.
If I already have gold, silver, and bronze Players Club roofs, is there any real reason to play the event floor other than supporting a certain team?
Lorena, do you have the fullest list for #TALEAGUE? Can i trouble you share a screengrab so i dont have to scour back through this thread please? thanks!
