I can confirm that the double 21 still works with the new update as well as the double chips (4) for watching adds on Ipad. Of course that is when the ads actually come up. It seems that with the new update, ads work about 1 out of 3 times. Seems since I updated Ive been getting more ads, but that could be a fluke. And since I miss out on getting the chips on a lot of them, it doesn't really matter. At least the gift icon bug has been fixed and I am now getting a lot more chips again for that. I have Panda 21 - 5BK9
Regarding the ad frequency, my experience has been that I get an influx of new offers when switching wifi points (going home after work). Generally it seems I get less frequent offers at work (maybe lots of phone users on the same network?). As for the total per day, I generally get more than 5. I'm on v1.1 and I didn't see any noticeable change in frequency when updating from the prior version. I split my play time between an Android phone and an iPad. I see slightly higher frequency on the iPad than the Android, but this too is based on casual observation. I'm also more likely to say 'no thanks' on Android and I feel like this delays the next ad longer than watching an ad. There are extended periods on both devices where I don't get ads, but these are limited to 6-8 hours and never a whole day. The only annoying aspect for me is that the ads seems to come when I'm busy with other tasks in-game and then when everything is calm the ads are silent also. If you are having low ad numbers, try switching up your internet source or perhaps even trying changing your ad preferences in Settings (iOS). My settings are set to no tracking and always have been. Don't expect an immediate reaction to either of these -- the ads aren't immediate for me after switching.
Well, I DID say "Fire at will" in one of my last posts. Fair is fair & you are definitely entitled to your opinion(s). I stand by my opinions (everything I said) & gut reaction (essential mistrust) but feel compelled to address a few of your statements. First, you said: "That doesn't make them bad people." Personally, I don't believe in "bad" or "good" people. I believe in good or bad actions. IMO, what NB did erred on the side of bad for I view dishonesty in the form of subterfuge as a "bad" action. In the update notes, it was easy enough to tell players they would get 2 chips/ad, would it have been harder to warn the players that the update would change the calculations they might have made about saving for a floor or a floor update? What if they bought chips or bux to help save for the update? Further, did I say it "ruined" the game? Did I ever say I had stopped playing? Hadn't I said I never intended to buy the VIP package? Didn't I say I was skipping the update for "the moment?" In closing, please don't argue points I never made. Everything I said had to do with the issue of trust. NB clearly still has yours but it has lost mine; you may condone this type of behavior from a dev, I don't.
Remember when Nimblebit did the exact same thing with Tiny Tower and the reduction of bux for placing dream jobbers? They went from 3 to 1 with no warning. Granted that was an unexpected "exploit" (or game mechanic depending on whether you liked it) that NB patched because it turned the game from a freemium to a free game essentially. Point is, however, that they did not announce in the change log the bux reduction then either. It created quite a massive uproar. I was one of the many who refused to update and voiced my displeasure at the unannounced change. They eventually raised the reward to 2 along with other changes and improvements. And, of course, they announced the increase in the change log.
And here is why I still love this game and the developers despite their arguable poor PR move with the update: That's an Arrested Development reference, in case it doesn't ring a bell. And this one reminds me of certain job candidates who I've interviewed before. What a conflicted person doomed to a life of misery:
40FK, also have Panda 21. Experiencing (almost) no problems on iPhone 4S. Only problem is when switching off the phone while the game us running, switching on sometimes crashes the game. About using 1 or 10 chips. This is an interesting question. On a long term it should be the same. You have 10 times less chance to get a prize with using 10 chips at a time, but you get 10x as much. However on a short term, it'sbetter to play only 1 at a time. Why? Let's compare it: you play 10x1, it's quite likely that you will win. Probably not much, but you will. If you play just 1x10, then your chances are 10 times less. Quite likely you won't win anything. However if you do, it's as if you win all 10 one by one. If you have lots of chips, it's ok to play 10 at obe, but otherwise better to only use one at a time. Though question is, what counts as a long term? There is also an interesting problem called Monty Hall: There are 3 rooms, 2 empty, 1 with the prize. You can choose one out of the 3, then the gamemaster will show you out of the remaining 3, which is empty. Then you can decide if you will still go with your original choice or go with the other one unrevealed. Which is best? I will tell the answer, but skip unless you want to think about it. SPOILER!!! You would think, there are 3 rooms, after the gamemaster revealed one empty one, out of the remaining two is one empty, one with the prize. You chose one of those, so it should not matter. The funny thing is, it matters. In the beginning there are 3 rooms, so you have a chance of 1/3. After the third room is taken out, it's only 1/2. So it's better to switch to the other room, your chances increased.
I updated to 1.1.1 yesterday, I figure it couldn't be worse than 1.1 I seem to be receiving tips ok, which is good. And the game stays open when i'm not playing it, which was an issue I was having (game constantly closed whenevr I didn't play it for more than a couple of minutes) Edit: On the side, am I the only one who struggles with the delivery man vip? As in i usually don't know what to do with them, as I like having my retail levels levels (non gaming) synchronised, and using the delivery man would ruin the synchronisation :S
I didn't say you said it ruined the game. I said it. But declaring that you were skipping the update, however momentarily, and when the release notes say the gift bug was fixed, is silly when you're clearly upset with the version you have/had. I love those missions. My favorite is when you have to find popcorn for the maintenance guy's Ernest marathon.
I use them almost exclusively for casino floors. If the lobby is getting close to full, I'll use them immediately on the casino floor that has the lowest stock, even if it's still hours away from any item reaching zero. If I am close to finishing a floor (or soon after), I will also use a delivery VIP to stock the empty floor to capacity (after upgrading to level 10). That gives me 5 hours to find the first dream jobber and 45 hours to get all 3, which never seems to be a problem.
The Housekeeper by far is the worst VIP. I rarely, if ever have a full suite, and even if I do, emptying it isn't going to help me much. The only way this VIP could possibly by valuable is if it comes with two Travel Agents. Then I could fill a suite, empty it, and fill it again.
At the risk of drawing this discussion out, I do hope this helps: My message was posted in the morning on the 4th. Getting my info about this game exclusively from this forum, I was not yet aware of any update, if indeed it had even been released prior to that. The post after mine, mentioning the update, was written in the evening by jlgolson.
I have quite the opposite experience. All 4 of my suites are usually full within the first 10-15 minutes of active playing. Thus Travel Agents are usually worthless to me when I get them and I am hoping for Housekeepers to show up. Also you claim that emptying a suite isn't going to help you much, so I can only assume that you aren't upgrading your suites, as my level 10 suites when fully occupied produce around 26K coins when the Housekeeper cleans them out.
I upgrade all of my suites. It's really the combination of the rarity of the Housekeeper, and the rarity of getting a suite full, PLUS being able to fill that suite up again right after that make it useless. Even if I have a full suite (which is usually only when there's one of those missions) all I'm doing is getting the check-out coins a little sooner.
What the heck is this bitizen's problem?! I hire him for his dream job and then he complains about it on Bitbook. Sheesh!
I usually don't get a full suite until 2-3 hours of solid gameplay. That's at 35+ floors, so I'm in the Housekeeper is pointless camp as well. You're going to get the coins when they checkout regardless. Even after 3 straight hours of play, it's rare for me to deliver a guest to a full suite outside of a check-in mission.
I wish we could pick what type of floor we are building. Didn't the other versions have that option? I've got 4 hotel floors and I really don't want anymore. I've got a sinking feeling that the floor under construction right now is another stupid hotel floor though.
Glad to be playing a pure NimbleBit title, love the slots, thanks for all the pro tips toucharcaders.
My 37th floor is coming soon and I am still only getting 2 chips for the find missions. I've read in this thread that floor 37 is when the 3 chips kicks in, does that not happen until the floor is completed or is it not floor 37? Thanks (5BK9)
