My gut feel is that the tipping bug extends further than just empty tips, I am getting the impression that some tips are not received at all.

Also I am finding that my friends list now resets itself at almost random times.
In the past, I would ensure eveyrone on the list is dark, and will clear itself after midnight.

These last few days, I notice that in the morning my list will still entirely be dark, and then at some stage during the day, the list will 'lighten' up again. Unsure of what this would mean, but it's clear that my game thinks i've tipped already when I hadn't since the day before.

My list resets at 5PM PST everyday for some reason.

Which would be 10am (or 9am with daylight savings, i think) over here in Melbourne, Aussieland.

Wouldn't be too far off from what i've experienced the last few days, but definitely not the midnight that I had in the past.
I guess this would imply that the friends list resets at midnight UTC. Makes sense I guess.

It's strange though, as my fireworks/free games still kick in at midnight, my local time. Although there was a period where it was kicking in only at 1am.

    edit:

Now that I think of it, the plot thickens.
Say someone over in the USA plays the game and tips me during the day at say 2pm PST (i'd be happily sleeping away)
Then they tip me again after their list resets at 5pm PST (i've just gotten to work)

If i log into TTV after that, I don't expect that i'd be receiving 2 tips from the same person, at most just the 1, and the other one disappears into the ether. Despite the fact that both parties are playing and tipping daily.

My fireworks and free plays also reset at midnight my local time.

I have on multiple occasions received 2 tips from the same person while collecting my tips. So I doubt any tips are lost to the ether. In fact I am pretty sure that you could technically tip someone as many times as you want to by simply removing and re-adding them to your friends list over and over again. Since it seems that whenever you add someone to the list they start out not tipped. I haven't tested this yet, but it seems like it might work. But even if it does, it is far too tedious and time consuming to abuse.

Is that recently since the update or before that? I use to never have any issues receiving tips but now I barely receive anything.

Assuming it still works like that and that I can receive multiples from a person then people either aren't tipping me or I just miss out on a lot of tips. Received only 1 accountable tip yesterday, and a handful of empty boxes.

Currently have everyone on my list darkened, including yourself and lisianne but am unsure if people are receiving my tips.

I expect that my list will fresh itself in a bit over an hour (or 10 mins if my time converting is flawed) and I guess i'll try retipping everyone again

Rest assured that I am still receiving your tips. But I am still running version 1.0.1 so I don't suffer from the glitched empty tips.

I've had the same issue (iPhone 6) and it's quite annoying as you can't watch any videos for chips now.

I was curious if it was better to bet 1 chip or 10 chips so I did 100 bets at 1 chip playing BJ and slots and tracked it in increments of 10. Here is BJ

    1 chip 10 chip avg/chip
    1 $165 $1,650 $16.50
    2 $185 $1,850 $18.50
    3 $155 $1,550 $15.50
    4 $315 $3,150 $31.50
    5 $265 $2,650 $26.50
    6 $170 $1,700 $17.00
    7 $310 $3,100 $31.00
    8 $135 $1,350 $13.50
    9 $390 $3,900 $39.00
    10 $90 $900 $9.00
    total $2,180 $21,800 $21.80

so out of 100 bets, I won $2,180 or $21.80 per chip, not too bad. I then looked at the amounts I would have won if I had bet 10 per chip. 4 out of the 6 times, I would have won more betting 10 chips than I did overall with the 1 chip bet. I was able to take advantage of the double BJ 3 times so that really boosts the return.

Here it is for farm slots:

    1 chip 10 chip avg/chip
    1 $60 $600 $6.00
    2 $155 $1,550 $15.50
    3 $565 $5,650 $56.50
    4 $170 $1,700 $17.00
    5 $120 $1,200 $12.00
    6 $140 $1,400 $14.00
    7 $40 $400 $4.00
    8 $130 $1,300 $13.00
    9 $170 $1,700 $17.00
    10 $315 $3,150 $31.50
    total $1,865 $18,650 $18.65

so out of 100 bets, I won $1,865 or $18.65 per chip. Again not too bad, but only 2 times out of 10 would I have won more chips betting 10 chips per than just playing 1 chip 100 times.

I am not really sure what is better, I guess if you have a lot of chips, betting 10 per and trying to maximize your returns is probably the way to go, especially on BJ, on slots, probably doesn't really pay. I didn't do this for poker, but I imagine the returns are probably worse.

So, Disney pulled the plug on Tiny Death Star, without any warning, even to NimbleBros!
    http://www.gamezebo.com/2014/10/03/star-wars-assault-team-tiny-death-star-longer-available/

I liked TDS at first, the art and sound was great even if The IAP were highly priced compared to NB's usual F2P.
Disney had the full control of it, just advertised it as the new Tiny Tower.
You could still do your tower without any IAP so I continued.
Then came an update with really crazy IAP prices and very aggressive anti consumer tweaks. :(
I did quit immediately after that, having finished the initial tower anyway.
    Lesson learned.
Long live NimbleBit, please continue to make us delightful pixel art games with reasonable pricing!
(and maybe update Pocket Planes some day ?) :D

R.I.P. I've never had the displeasure of playing a game which so perverted the concept of "Freemium." Disney's game suffered from overt greed and inability to fix serious problems.

I don't mind being the forum pariah here but hasn't NB changed the implementation of "Freemium" as well, to the detriment of the player?

    1) High initial virtual prices (compare elevators in TT to TTV - world of difference)
    2) Sneaky virtual price increases in increase of floors & updating of floors
    3) "Special" on VIP package which was initial price, not special at all, then indeed doubling the price after the "special"
    4) Most disturbing to me, promise of 2 chips/ad while cutting the ads in more than half (from 0 to 5/day). Calling an "increase" an essential "decrease" - if this isn't dishonesty, I don't know what is.
    5) Introduction of glitch "phantom" gifts they have yet to fix

TDS was money-grubbing from the get-go but NB is well on its way, albeit in a more subtle way, IMO.

    OK, fire at will.

p.s.: Am I still playing? Yes. Do I expect to finish. No. Should I contribute to any game I know I won't finish thus encouraging the devs?

So the 1.1.1 update is out, optimized for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus and fixes gifting bug.

It does NOT fix the chip for advertising crash bug.

On a separate note, I really hope the next contest is for poker... I've been saving up chips for weeks!

My friend code is NKFB if anyone wants to visit!

Not only does it not fix the ad bug, it shrinks the tower down to give a buffer on both sides on the 6, making it as hard to read and hard to find bitizens and objects as it was on the 5. Wish I hadn't updated.

Agreed for 1) and 2), which is the most disturbing imho.
but on 3) they did also have introductory prices in Pocket Trains and NimbleQuest for IAPs and upped them after a few weeks. They have the right to adjust their prices, although it would have been better to be more straightforward with it.
And 4) and 5) I don't think they did that on purpose. 5 ads max a day seems to be the norm for Vungle.

NimbleBit should buy the TDS assets back from Disney and redo the game in a fair way. I guess it's complicated though with the SW licensing.

About #3: I never played PT, just PP & PF. That said, it would have more "straightforward" in TTV, as you said, to have an indication of *some* sort that this offer was temporary from the start. I, for one, was really fooled for I thought it was a mistake on NB's part. It wasn't that I was saving my real $$ to buy it but that it struck me as wrong.

About #4: I don't know about you but I was getting way more than 5 ads/day prior to the update, spaced out during the day. Now, when I get any, they are all received within about an hour.

About #5: Of course NB didn't introduce the "gift" bug on purpose. Inability to fix it in anything like a timely manner, given my other concerns, makes me wonder how swift they'll be to correct more critical mistakes. For the moment I'm skipping this update.

Back to #1 & #2, NO dev should change its "virtual" prices in mid-stream. And without a "heads up!" This is deceitful, unscrupulous. My take-away from this is that NB can/might do this in ANY game in the future (or past). Or in this game still again! Personally I hope some math genius will calculate if the odds of winning any casino game has been altered or anything else for that matter.

The TTV wiki has not been updated in quite a while.

    Silence speaks volumes.

They can change prices on whatever they feel like. Yeah, it sucks that they raised the prices to level up and build floors, but it hasn't ruined the game. As for the VIP package, they are under no obligation to tell people the price will go up. As the consumer, it's up to you to decide whether or not the price is right for you at any given time. If you had the money to buy the package at the introductory price, you should have gotten it. If you were saving up your real life money to afford it, perhaps you should reevaluate what you're spending your cash on as it's clearly hard to come by. The fact of the matter is that they've made the game free to play to your heart's content, and possibly found that they weren't making enough money to cover the development/support costs at the previous IAP price points. That doesn't make them bad people.

Based on other games I've played that are supported with opt-in Vungle ads, it doesn't seem to be up to the game whether or not you get to watch an ad. I'd guess that at certain intervals, the game checks the Vungle server to see if an ad is available. If the server gives the OK, they give you the offer. Yeah, it sucked to go from 5-10 offers a day to 1 offer a day if I was lucky, but again, I don't think that's entirely up to NB.

As for skipping this update, I don't see the point. You are complaining about the gift bug, yet you want to wallow in the version where the bug still exists?

Since the last two updates my game seems to be crashing constantly. Mostly when I start the firework and when I restock my floors too fast. That's pretty annoying. Anyone else having this problem? I reinstalled the game already. Didn't work.
