Quick question. Am I better upgrading floors to a certain level or rushing with Bux to build more floors?
I would go with upgrading floors. Get hotel floors to 10, then casinos, then the rest. I would try and have all your floors at level 5 at least, so you won't have to be constantly tending to them. Just my 2 cents.
Elevator I haven't seen anyone post, but did the cost for elevator upgrades increase with the latest update?
Agree completely that they can be annoying after the initial few. If I played day & night or if I were willing to invest big bux in upgrading them to level 10 then I'd feel differently, I'm sure. All I know is the upgrade from 5.25 to 5.50 is the same as on the TT Wiki, 5.513 bux (http://www.tinytowervegaswiki.com/wiki/Elevators). Since the cost of upgrading floors increased, the VIP package (prior to NB's special) doubled, & players getting 2 (rather than 1) chip for viewing ads increased (a user-friendly change), things were altered. That indicated to me, at least, that other aspects of the game might change in the future.
I love the Suites, I have all of mine upgraded to level 10 and they definitely make a huge difference. A single House Keeper VIP earns me 26,250 coins instantly (it takes all of my other floors around 43 minutes to create that income, and only if they're all fully stocked), and since I always try to make sure that all of my Suites are fully booked, every single "Check in 3" mission also earns me a quick 26,250 coins. I am however an admittedly very active player and I spend a good 4-8 hours a day actively playing (while at my desk at work, or home watching TV, or doing other things), so you're millage may vary. All I know though is that my maximum passive income per day is less than 768,672 coins, and yet I end up generating around 2M coins a day. So that means that I am earning around 1.25M coins through Suites, restock bonuses, and running the elevator. Also, as much as I hate pimping my friend code, I do have Snorkel Slots AND I am still on version 1.0 so everyone can still visit me regardless of what version you are running. My friend code is 10TZM.
Well, yeah, if you don't use the elevators, hotel floors are near-useless. There are two types of gameplay in TTV. You generate coins passively by selling stock. You get a constant 12 coins/minute per items, or 36 coins/minute per floor. The level of the floor does not change this rate, but does change the duration. Each 1-coin item is sold every 5 seconds but 3-coin items sell every 15 seconds, so they have an equal 12 coins/minute rate. A level-10 floor with 3 dream job employees will take 100 minutes to stock the 1-coin item, but those 7200 items will take 600 minutes (10 hours) to sell. The 3-coin item takes 300 minutes (5 hours) to stock but takes 90 hours to sell out. That's about as passive as your gameplay can get! The active gameplay has three elements: playing the casino games, completing missions, and running the elevator. And that's where the hotel suites come in. A level-10 hotel will generate 8750 coins per guest for a 150 minute stay, or 58.3 coins per minute. This is almost 5× the rate for restaurant, entertainment, retail and casino floors. But the maximum stay is 2½ hours, so these floors will empty after extended absences, like sleeping. And you need to work to fill themyou need to use the elevator. If you are impatient you can use bux (just as you can use bux to quick-stock a normal floor if you are impatient). But you can see that active gameplay (using the elevator) is essential to reap the benefits of hotel floors. It takes time to "prime the pump" after your floors are empty, and it takes continued work to fill spots as they clear out. But you will also get VIPs during active play time, and the book-a-guest missions are awesome because the combine the effect of an early check-out and instant check-in when those guests hit a full floor. TL;DR: you need to play actively and use the elevators to get the full benefit of hotel floors
Elevator tips? Has anybody "measured" how many coins are generated from elevator tips? It's hard to tell because the coin counter is almost continuously rolling over, but it seems to me like you get 10 coins per floor. For example, deliver someone to floor 30 and get a 300 coin tip. This may sound insignificantespecially when it costs millions of coins for new floorsbut it adds up. My floors currently generate about 1000 coins per minute but if I deliver 3-4 guests a minute, perhaps I'm getting another 400-500 coins per minute. So a 40% increase in coin generation for periods of active gameplay seems pretty substantial!
I am fairly certain that elevator trips are 10 coins per floor traveled. Does anyone know what the coin bonus for fully stocking a floor or checking in the final guest in a Suite is? I know once in a while you'll receive a chip for these bonuses, but the chip is in place of the coins, not in addition to the coins like the random chips you receive from elevator trips.
Fun variant Have to say this is a rather fun variant of the original Tiny Tower. Just out of curiosity, anyone have an idea of how many different mini games there are?
If you're talking about the casino games, then there are only 3 types of games: Slots Poker 21 (simplified Blackjack) If you're asking how many different casinos there are, well there are 7 different Slots casinos, 6 different Poker casinos, and 6 different 21 casinos. So there are 19 casinos in total. Hopefully they will add some new games in future updates. Roulette seems like a no-brainer as far as simple rules and mechanics go. Some one else, a few pages back, proposed some simplified rules for a Craps game that they could implement as well.
The casino games are listed here: http://www.tinytowervegaswiki.com/wiki/Category:Casino_Floors There are also missions which are a kind of mini game listed here: http://www.tinytowervegaswiki.com/wiki/Missions
Elevator trips are 50 coins for delivering to the second floor, and an additional 2 coins for every floor higher than that (52 for floor 3, 54 for floor 4, etc). I think the bonus for full-stocking a suite or a retail floor is a flat percentage of the value of the items (or people, if it's a suite) that are in stock as of the moment of full-stocking (so it varies if you're sending a deliveryman vs. finishing it off via waiting). I think it's 1-2%. I definitely got more for my higher-level suites than my lower-level suites.
Thanks for the clarification on elevator trips. So the most you could earn on an elevator trip would be 254 coins for a delivery to floor 104, a trip that would take the default elevator almost 1 minute 45 seconds to make.
And that's what has been killing these tower games for me. Do you actually find running the elevator fun? Surely they could think of some other activity for is to do while we wait for our stock to deplete.
Well, this game also has find-it missions and of course, the casino mini-games, so there is certainly more to do than run the elevator. But I understand what you are saying. The elevator is a rather mindless activity. I tend to "play" this game in a somewhat disengaged state much of the time. I will be working at my desk or watching TV or reading a book at home and I'll have the game open in front of me. I'll glance down every couple of minutes and "watch" the videos for chips if that icon is available, or deal with a new mission if it's available, or run the elevator once if there's nothing else. With the red heart in the elevator shaft to mark the destination, I find that you don't have to pay close attention to hit the target. It takes a few seconds and then I go back to what I was doing. It would be easy to criticize the game for shallow gameplay, but there are certainly times when I don't mind. That's the definition of a "casual" game, is it not? If I had two wishes for a future release, I would want: 1) the addition of a craps minigame (in real life, craps is the only casino game I would ever play) and, 2) minigames for the missions. I'd like something more substantial than the "find-it" game. There's plenty of opportunity to add small puzzles or arcade-style minigames consistent with the Vegas resort theme. For example, the Rusty Plummer character could ask you to clean the swimming pool or exterminate the rats in the kitchen, and you could envision little minigames to do that. You could have a rhythm game for the DJ Beatz character, a shooting game for Jimmy The Bit, and so on.
Don't have the time to browse through the thread but is there a bug where you cannot see who visited your tower? The icon shows up and when I click nothing happens and it just disappears.
Finally got all my suites to level 10 so upgraded on my ipad and when go to play on iPhone get a message that says your cloud save is from a newer version, upgrade this device to enable cloud sync so this won't work.
