I'm just glad that others might benefit from my obsessive over analyses of the games mechanics. When I find a game that I like I go all in 150%. You can see more of my over analyses on the Pixel People and Master of Craft threads (although I have stopped playing both of those games by now.) I too expect this to be a "limited time" opportunity as I assume a patch is probably already in the works to fix it. Once this exploit is removed I will probably just switch to playing Slots exclusively as I expect my Blackjack chips to bux average to drop dramatically. It looks like you'll need another 23,960 bux to get all of your floors up to level 10. I still need another 34,800 to get all of my floors to level 10. I am still holding off on construction until I have the coins to build directly from 23-39, I still need another 23.73M coins, but I am earning around 2M coins a day so I should have enough coins in less than 2 weeks from now. In that time I hope to earn the 100,300 bux I'll need to upgrade all of those floors to level 10. Then I can start working on getting my elevator up to 9.5 FPS to maintain my 0.25 FPS per tower floor speed. I will need 183,813 bux to get my elevator to that speed. So that's my current list of short term goals. 34,800 bux to upgrade current floors 100,300 bux to upgrade new floors 183,813 bux for elevator upgrades I need 318,913 bux total. My current average is 7,911 bux a day. So it should take me about 40 days to reach my goal. However, it will only take me around 12 days to earn enough coins to construct my new floors, and once I begin construction I will begin earning 3 chips per Find missions, so I expect to increase my bux per day average. So hopefully with a very active and diligent play style i can achieve these goals within a month or so. I am also hoping that within that 1 month period I am able to fill my tower with level 9 dream jobs that I will dress as Troopers. Then all shall know the true power of the Dark Side.
Update on No Cash Play Here's an update on my progress...I'm at Day 18 and I haven't purchased any IAPs. I now have 34 Floors including the lobby. I have managed to get them all to level 10 and in fact I have the bux ready to upgrade my next floor to level 10, which I'll be able to buy in an hour or so. I have taken the "build as soon as it's ready" approach. I have seen interesting ideas on how to save up at a certain floor to gain most chips, etc. While I agree that chips are necessary, I do not prescribe to the idea that waiting helps. In the end you have to have gold and you're missing out on hours and days of gold production during the waiting period. To be honest, there is no wrong way. Yea I just said I don't like the other way, but the key is to play the game. You have to do missions, add Dream Jobs, and skillfully place VIPs to get the most out of the game and to add floors efficiently. Whether you wait or build as the floors become available, you have to have chips. It comes down to patience. You have to be willing to build up chips before playing in casinos. The most frustrating way to play is to bottom out with no chips. I strongly recommend that you keep a chip and bux buffer. Don't spend it all. It feels like an insurmountable mountain to climb when you start from zero. I love this advice, however, I rarely follow it and at times I just want to quit when I'm at zero. So hang in there...set a goal. One day I set a goal of saving up 500 chips. No matter what happened I would only play a chip to finish a mission. I built it up over a few hours and then to my surprise I didn't want to spend any chips...I ended up saving over 650 chips before the dam broke and I started playing in the casinos. I'll bet I won 15,000 bux or so. I raised a lot of floors to from level 9 to level 10 that day. Right now I'm cruising with a 200 chip buffer, but one bad trip to the casino will blow it all. I think my bux count is up around 210,000 or so. All of that is free play. So just find a casino game you like, get a good feel for how to play and collect your bux. I think investing in floor levels to 10 is a great way to play. The last 3 days I've been in classified meetings with no access to my device. My floors generated a ton of money with almost no maintenance. I'm sure there are some other creative ways to build floors rapidly, but with prices going up so fast I bet all the gimmick ways to level become unreasonable around the 40th floor. By that time suites won't be a viable way to play. Anyone with higher levels want to comment on how they do it? Oh and I haven't made enough to buy any cool items like lobbies or roofs. Maybe I can get ahead at some point, but I'm not quite there yet. Have fun! Chris R99P
Doh! Actually if you visit my tower you'll see that I finally bought the NASA Lobby and Infinity Elevator upgrades! I'm grinding now to get enough chips for my next room because I spent all the bux I was saving for the next floor upgrades. The new floor is still under construction so I have time to get my bux back up! I'm going to shoot for the Space Shuttle roof next. I'm partial to those upgrades because I used to work for NASA as an Avionics Software Engineer on the Ares I Program before it was cancelled. Now I'm a Manager at the Missile Defense Agency. Onward and upward... R99P
Poo! Yes I see a lvl 9 upgrade as 1920 now! I guess they raised prices on us. Thank goodness I raised all my levels to 10 already! Kind of puts a damper on that wait and build in bulk theory. i just upgraded to 9. Level 10 is 2430. My estimation is it now takes 8,000 bux to fully upgrade to 10.
Hmmm I was looking forward to this update but I see they have raised prices for things. It became more expensive to hurry construction as well. I see that we are supposed to be able to tip people back when they tip us, but when I received a gift a few minutes ago, there was no box showing me who sent it. Glitch perhaps?
Wow, with the bux increase for floor upgrades--and no other changes to balance that--they're turning this game into Tiny Death Star 2...
After the 1.1 update, gifts no longer seem to work for me. When I press on the blue present icon nothing happens. Running iOS 8. Anybody else see this?
I had the same issue. Must be a glitch. We are supposed to be able to tip the person back but we can't do that without seeing a name...
Just a heads up to those who like me have chosen not to update, you will not be able to visit any friends who have updated.
Sadly, the cost increase this update implemented might have just killed this game for me. I was having trouble keeping everything upgraded before the update, now it seems it'll be impossible unless you win more to make up for it.
Guess I won't update either. The costs before were a bit too high, but I was going to stick with it and just take my time with the game. An increase in tower bucks cost on floors is just insane. Now I'm tempted to just shelf the game and see if they revert back in a follow up update. I gave up on Tiny Death Star for the same reason (too high a cost for your tower income), but had fun finishing the original tiny tower. Given that it wasn't mentioned in the patch notes, I'm hoping it's just a bug.
Same here. I think I'm going to shelve it for a bit and if it doesn't revert back to the original upgrade costs, I'll just delete. It was feeling a bit grindy but I too was going to stick with it. Any more of a grind was going to be too much for me. I was going to buy some chips IAP, so I'm kind of glad, if they were going to make this change, that they did it before I bought any/bought the game.
I had already bought a couple of the small chip packs. I'm happy I did, because even if I'm done, it was a fun game for several weeks and Nimblebit always makes awesome games. I'll even buy the lobby/roof pack at some point soon if it turns out the bucks thing is a bug and gets fixed when they fix the new gifting problem. If not, I'll go finish the last animals on my disco zoo, and wait for their next game. Has anyone tested if iCloud syncing works in the new version over wifi? I had given up and started a second tower on the ipad and I've not updated my phone tower yet, so couldn't check. Edit: Actually sync is still not working, not fixed in the update. Updated floors on my ipad game, moved floors around, built one, etc and just checked it on my iphone friends list. None of the updates took and it still doesn't realize the ipad is on the new version and I shouldn't actually be able to visit it, and all the floors are over a week old.
Sorry to those friends who have tipped me last few days but I can't tip back due to different versions. Hope NB releases a tweak soon to address the recent comments. The community aspect of these games is crucial, kerps many players going long after the daily gring gets old. I have held off updsting, but may buckle just to get back in with the friends.
Hold Your Horses Guys before we knock this update, ummm, has anyone noticed their winnings go up? I'm on an incredible streak right now. I'm wondering if it's just luck, but it's not just bux. I'm also seeing a spike in chip drops too. So far I'd say the upgrade has made the game better not worse....until I start losing! Update: I just did a 30 minute session. I earned 70 chips in 30 min! Yesterday I earned 75 in an hour. The addition of more movie ads and giving 2 chips/movie ad has been the main contributor to this. On the bux side I've had 4 sessions and am earning 75 bux/chip. That's only over 40 chips, but I've never seen a run like this. Happy gaming... Chris
