Strongly agree with this. Knowing that....or not knowing where the elevator upgrades end is a big turn off especially knowing how hard it is to earn bux that i also need to keep my new floors upgraded.

reaching endgame is definitely going to be a challenge.

Not really, the endgame will be reachable without upgrading the elevator or even the floors that much.
It will just take a longer time. The challenge is to not get bored in that way.
But for a very casual player who scrolls through a rotation of 5 or 10 F2P games each morning, it's just another timer game with floors to restock. Elevator and missions are optional if you're not in a hurry. Game's on autopilot, as long as you make coins.
That's what made TT such a hit vs more complex games like PP or PT, where you had to actively think and play.
    Again, not saying it's bad!
It's a well thought design, that adapts for the needs and wants of a very large audience including more active TA players.

But if you don't play the elevator then you won't earn chips to get bux right?

i suppose it does only speed it up but i can't imagine having to wait to earn 2m coins at lvl 27 with only lvl1 floors.

    Hello all,
Took awhile but I read all your guys strategies....Very interesting reads. Thanks all for taking the time! Very much appreciated.

Now to throw in my "Two Cents" on a couple topics.
Been playing this for 76 days now (yes I was part of the Beta) and at the moment I have the following:
    48 floors, 26 @ Level 10 and the rest @ Level 7.
22.95M coins, 95,044 bux and 7,875 chips. Over the course of those 76 days it says I have accumulated 315,518 bux. At some point I will go "Bat blank crazy" and start using some of my chips to get some more bux, but today is not that day. And like a few of you have said: I like the challenge so I will tip the devs at the end, so as of yet no IAP.

To the people who think the missions are a pain if your tower gets bigger: Being Red-Green color-blind some of these missions are damn near impossible, so once I accept it, I take my time and deliver to floors while I am looking. If your Casinos are fully stocked you will be amazed how many chips you will accumulate while you are trying to complete the mission.

Next point: If you stop building you will stop getting new Characters! At the moment I have 10 of the possible 15. And some of these missions are a piece of cake. Foe example, Look for 1 vehicle, 1 drummer, deliver 1 to a suite, deliver 2 to a suite or a few of them just give me 1 to 3 chips. So as you can see, there is a nice upside to keep building to get more Characters.

Well I hope this made some sort of sense and I hope it might help at least one of you on what strategy you might decide to use.
Cheers all and have a great day!!!

Congrats for the bugs you must have squashed as a tester & equally for how far you have gotten in the game. I’m sure lots of us would love to have the problem of “too many bux.” As it stands now, it’s beyond my ability to imagine, unlike in TT & that’s my biggest problem.

Although I will tip NB at some point for their incredible work in this game, I don’t work for nothing & neither should they. Still & all, I hesitate for them to think that my “appreciation” of their labors is a validation of the way they’ve implemented some aspects of the gameplay. The “sense/feel” of monetization, although never overt, troubles me for it’s so not NB.

Yes, they still do it better than most Freemium games out there whose pop-up screens & other arm-twisting is a real turn off. Still, I'm really hung up about the upgrade of the elevator speed implementation.

You've some staying power/persistence to be able to do missions with that roadblock! Even at level 22, it take a long time with normal vision.

It’s highly doubtful I can maintain my interest at 22 floors for much longer but for the time being I’m staying at this level. It’s easier for me & my mode of gameplay. Since I can’t see waiting for 40 floors to gain some chip advantage, my resolve won’t last THAT long (sorry TRB4).

Thanks for your input, Rebartsh. All opinions, ideas, make this thread an interesting & valuable one to read!

So being the math and statistics nerd that I am, i did some calculations based on the stats you provided and came up with the following:

You have enough coins on hand to purchase your next 4 floors and still have 1.838M left over.

You have enough bux on hand to upgrade all of your current floors to level 10 and you'll still have 9684 bux left over.

Based on your lifetime bux earned and your floor levels and bux on hand I would estimate that your elevator is currently 5.0 FPS.

Your chips are worth around 157,500 bux (assuming 1 chip = 20 bux on average)

If you did cash in all of your chips you would be able to upgrade your elevator to 9.0 FPS, or 10.25 FPS if you also used your bux on hand as well.

Assuming that you cashed out all your chips, your total lifetime bux would be around 473,018 bux which would mean that you've earned an average of 6,224 bux a day! Pretty impressive.

Okay, now that I am done geeking out on numbers let me address the rest of your post.

I understand that getting new characters not only unlocks some new easier missions, but it also helps keep the game fresh, however, constructing new floors also serves to make the harder missions (find 10 of these guys, or 5 of these super tiny things) even more irritating and annoying. Also, while I agree that delivering people to casino floors is probably the best way to accumulate chips quickly, the taller your tower the more casinos you need to keep fully stocked (which requires more bux to hurry orders) and unless you constantly keep upgrading your elevator a taller tower will take longer and longer to climb. So by stopping construction I am able to keep my elevator speed where I want it (0.25 per floor) and keep the amount of casinos I need to stock in check. in fact I usually get enough delivery VIPs to keep my 5 casinos stocked (at least items 2 & 3) so I only ever have to hurry item 1 stocking.

I am grateful for your advice, and it's obvious that you have a lot more experience playing this game than I do. But I am going to stay the course and hold off on construction until I get all of my current floors to level 10 (I still need another 60,000 bux) and I have enough coins to build up to floor 39 (I still need another 27.5M coins) and then I will start my construction again.

Thank you for your opinions and strategies :D

Yeah, I'm not getting too hooked on strategies and things like that. Eventually you'll get there no matter what you do. Worrying about upgrades and when to build floors and all that is just meaningless.

Any mission where you have to find people or objects I just skip. It's boring and not worth 1 chip. So unless it's checking in guests, stocking a floor, or winning a casino game, I'm not doing it.

    TRB4,
Thank you for the math stuff!!!:D Very much appreciated.
Please note I am in no way trying to get anyone to change their strategy based on what I am doing. I enjoy collecting the chips/bux/coins. To be honest when I hit floor 60 I will just sit back and build up the chips/bux/coins again.
Right now I will not build another floor until hit 27M coins. Why you ask? Heck I do not know, just a number I picked!!! And I only go looking for bux when I get a "Wild Hair" up my you know what and feel like upgrading some stuff!
Elevator is at 6.0 and each floor will now cost over 5M.
So for now I just ride the elevator and search for those "wallets" that I really can not see but the worst is those "dark colored candle stick looking thingy's"
My favorite is the "sub sandwiches" Their huge!!!! :D
    Cheers and happy hunting!!!!!

View the threads often, but haven't posted before. I am really enjoying this game, never played Tiny Tower. I currently have 19 floors (2.1M coins) and am taking TRB4's advice and am saving up to build 3 more floors to get to 22 and then I am going to try to stop building and upgrade. Most of my floors are at level 5, but I have a few 6s, 7s, and 1 10. My elevator is only at 3.5. I find getting chips a little better now that I have 19 floors, but still very tedious.

I have been adding a lot of friend codes from the thread and will always tip back, I was wondering some of the more active people, how much in tips would you say you receive in a day?

    friend code is 5BK9

Honestly, I haven't really been keeping track of how many tips I receive a day, but ideally I would hope to receive 50 chips a day in tips. That would be 1 chip back from each person I tip a day. I am constantly updating my friend's list by adding those who tip me and removing those who haven't tipped me in a few days. Hopefully my friend's list will eventually balance its self out and I will only have people who tip back daily.

But if I had to guess, I am probably currently receiving around 30-35 chips from tips a day.

You add someone's friend code to your friend's list, then go visit their tower and play any one of their casino games. It doesn't matter if you win or lose or how many chips you play. You just need to play at least 1 chip at 1 of their casinos and they will receive 1 chip from you. You can only tip each person 1 chip a day.

    Costumes?

Has anybody started using costumes on employed bitizens? It would seem to me that it would make the "where's Waldo" missions easier if all the permanent bitizens on each floor were dressed the same way--the visitors would stand out.

    Thats not a bad idea.
I've been theming the 9star DJs based on the floor.

I guess if i come across one that is a regular visitor then i'll have to change. My security floor had 6 security officers in it one time.
