Great update. Question, though (couldn't test this since I used up all my bux upgrading the Pub trying to find the level cap, meh): when you buy a costume, does this mean it's unlocked for use by any bitizen, and not just a one-time purchase for that specific bitizen?
Excellent idea. Really hope they consider this. Can really help on elevator ferrying times for higher levels. Damn. In addition to the much hyped elevator and bitizen dressup updates, Real Estate VIPs now fill ALL empty bedrooms in a floor? I am impressed.
Crashes Wondering if anyone could help my tiny tower has been crashing every single time with every version and update I haven't been able to play it for such a long time I used to try logging out of gc or even rebooting and deleting and reinstalling. Sometimes those methods worked and sometimes not. Very erratic. I'm using a jailbroken iPhone 4 on 4.2.1 but I dont have ########## or anything like that. Could anyone help? Thanks so much
I assume it crashes on the loading screen where it just says Tiny Tower? I have a solution for you, and everyone else. Wait 10-15 seconds on the loading screen, and quit the app yourself. IMMEDIATELY restart the app (by immediately, I mean freaking god damn immediately), and it should load.
Great update! I'm debating the best way to lay out my store upgrades. If I'm understanding it right, via trade in 3 bux = 6000 coins. The benefits of store upgrades would be much smaller than that at first I think but, since the change is permanent, at some point along the timeline you'd break even and start seeing more bang for your bux. But figuring out the worth of store upgrades is trickier (where's C.Hannum when you need him, haha). I suppose if you've got perfect uptime on all your stores, increasing the stock time and stock count wouldn't do anything, *but* I don't think anyone has perfect uptime. Larger stocks would last longer when you go to sleep for example. So yes now I'm wondering if I should try to level out my first tier stocks at a specific point so they all come up at once? If I can get the majority of first tier goods to all last say an hour, then I can check my phone once an hour and restock everything at once. Eh, I'm torn, can't decide what to upgrade. I suppose there's merit in upgrading stores that have 3 dream jobbers already, turns the 75 stock/5 minute bonus to 150/5 minute, I would imagine.
Thats exactly what I did just now, I now have a level 18 diner and no money as I kept thinking ' I'll hit the max level next '
Bug on in-game sales rate aside, I'm loving this update. Really turned things around on the design aspect with giving lots of bux sinks and personalization options. Now it feels like there's something to do other than just watch the tower get bigger and bigger at a slower and slower rate... Case in point:
Upgrading a store has not much real financial benefit at all, either short or long term. For every level it just takes more coins to stock an item and more time for it to be stocked, at the same ratio as if the store just had 75 more items, which it does. It won't make you more profit. The only reason to do it is so that you don't have to restock as often, the only possible advantage aside from that is overnight maybe when your stores won't run out of stock so much but that's not really something you can measure.
Yep, good update. Couple of observations: The leap-to-a-floor animation has changed - is it faster or just more abrupt at the stop? The now-second-fastest elevator still can't be moved down one floor with a tap. It still overshoots. I know NB would love the extra towerbux purchase for the next one but please give this a tweak so it's usable. At 250 bux for the next elevator I'd have saved up. At 300 or 400 I might have paid out. At 499, with the previous-fastest being hard to use, it feels like a swizz. Could we have reverse coins-to-bux purchasing?
Would it be possible to rename some of the "creative" stores? I keep seeing fashion studio, floral studio, pottery studio, art studio, etc. It's getting a little confusing. Please give them more unique and memorable names!
Yes and no. Sure, it does not in any way change the basic formula of X coins in = Y coins out. However, I still see a lot of, um, how shall I put this?, manic obsessiveness among the still active posters. For example, consider how people were still stressing out over how food businesses are too much trouble to keep open a few pages back even though, much like your point about upgrading floors, a Pub is every bit as profitable as a Martial Arts. The only thing differentiating the Pubs and Mexican Restaurants of the world from the Doctor Offices and Martial Arts IS stock levels, so for those who absolutely cannot deal with the idea that there is a closed business running in the background, the upgrades are a mindsaver. AND, for the rest of the people out there, they will result in better coin generation simply because this game hits a "Pocket Frogs style" long term usage pattern. I check into the game in the morning while I'm on the exercise bike but, unless I'm stuck in a line or something, probably not more than two more times over the course of the day. Nearly everything is closed in the mornings, and a large percentage are closed any time I check in during the day. Anything that boosts stock levels is going to result in a better coin generation over time rate for my building. As I said all the way back on launch day For those of us playing a marathon instead of sprint, there's no contest: upgrading stock over converting bux to coins is a no-brainer in terms of which generates more coins and, hence, more floors. As soon as I get the new elevator, going to start the long haul of evening up stock levels between stores (and unlocking some costumes while I'm at it, I love this update, now we just need a floor editor for painting floors).
As of the previous update, you could rename all your stores by tapping on their names. I renamed them to reflect who is working there, that and colour coordination makes finding them a breeze.
*You* can name them anything you want, have been able to do so since the first update. Click on the floor, click on the title, and there you go.
I know there are strategies to cope with the elevator's behaviour. But then you might as well say to someone with a level one elevator, 'lol just hold yr finger down longer'. I thought I was getting a better-functioning elevator; and it's surely not rocket science for NB to tweak the acceleration either.
I noticed that @nimblebit got rid of the -1 coin for every costume change (plain). I'm very happy about that! To top it off they gave us a toggle button to go backwards. Awesome update!
I pretty much agree with this. If they would just make the elevators "click" or lock to the floors, instead of having that wait time for them to settle, the game would be less tedious and more enjoyable.
