Because there is such a low chance, the best thing you can do is get all elevator upgrades (or as many as you want) and devote an amount of bux for fast rent and aggressively evicting people. You can easily get bux quite quickly so for a big tower it saves a lot of time.
This is what I started doing. I'd rather spend 10 bux forcing people to rent then kicking the losers out than waiting forever for someone to hopefully move in. I really need to start using one of the schemes here to find people, they like to hide when I go looking for them. I only have 49 floors and hardly ever use the elevator anymore. It takes too long to ferry those guys around. I get plenty of bux from finding people and keeping my floors stocked. Just to have something to do, I've stopped spending bux on coins and started seeing how many I can accumulate. So far I'm at 143 bux. I make over 100K a day so saving money for new floors doesn't take near as long as it used to. Honestly, I would have stopped playing this game a long time ago but my wife and kids are too competitive.
Frankly, I enjoy employing the game as a bit of a memory booster. I AM a database fanatic and enjoy building them any chance I get. But with this game (prolly because I can tell how my brain is aging) I decided to go with the colour-code-career method and then leave it up to a brain-train to remember where each of my 145 Bitizens live. It's a sort of linear version of those concentration-style games where you have to match 2 cards, and remember where in all the facedown cards each symbol is hiding. I realize this isn't as zippity-skippity fast as the database method, and that everyone who doesn't play in exactly the same way as Chip Hannum is doublepluswrong. But it still suits me and is a nice way to keep my mind sharp. I'll save the databasing for pocket frogs, sims2, my library and my actual work.
Amen to that, Mycropht. Nothing wrong with a more goal-oriented approach, and I'm not sure why that fellow thought I was saying there was--but your playing style sounds a lot more like mine. (I'm the same way with all my gaming--I'll mosey through rather than powergame every time, find a groove I like and settle into it.)
Chill Out... No need quarrel on all this... It's just a game and all can enjoy it whatever way they wants... Why not everyone start sharing on their cute little bitzens for a start? I have weird barbers...
*Like* First sane thing anyone has said in this thread Can i ask for an option in the settings to toggle music and sound separately? Also noticed that after a while if i don't reset the app the sounds effects stop but music still keeps going. This might be triggered by the app being interrupted by a notification or phone call. I guess there must be a reason for the char cap on naming right? I always seem to be just short of 1 or 2 characters. Something else i would find very useful is a notification system not unlike in Pocket frogs where you can set alerts on individual timers as opposed to one annoying global system. I'm also sure there is a faster lift coming for us that are over 70 floors?
It's like the joke about the town with two barbers--get your hair cut from the one with the worse haircut. Don't get your hair cut from the light-haired guy--he'll dye your hair blue.
I feel stupid. I didn't realize you could bribe bitizens to move in with bux. Thanks for the great tip. Dream jobs, here I come, lol.
I had been waiting the whole day for another blue hair barber to come along... No luck so far.. Also, did anyone notice, as you go higher in levels, or you play the game longer, the people starts having nicer and weirder hats, helmets, etc?
SubShopicide Grrrr. I hated my Sub Shop, kept it dark with no employees. So I demolished it. I kept the floor as a Food floor and 400 hours or so later, guess what, it turned into a Sub Shop again. I am obviously cursed. So, I've demolished it again and tomorrow it will be a residential floor. Take that, Sub Shop! Yeah, I know it will return, but not anytime soon.
i think similar to the increasing random pool for business store, it applies to the choices for hats and costumes as well... I won't be surprise if in future, one of my bitizen has frog face..
< and he looks like this, grinning at you... Sigh, am i the only one dressing them up and having fun? Don't see a lot of photos here... If only we can TRADE them... I need a blue hair barber... with beard...
no fair Have been totally addicted to tiny tower for weeks, having a great time. My tower is only up to 76 floors, but still going. SUddenly, for some reason evicting bitizens and replacing them with new bitizens in their dream job now only gives me one bux instead of three! Was a great fun way to earn buxs, also has now removed a fun element of game play. No fair.
Hiya, probably missed alot in this massive thread, but some of you add me to your GameCenter? I don't play enough wifi games on my iPod to collect GC peeps. GC ID - lildragn Cheers! ~t
Major Oops I have two, count 'em, bitizens named Neil Willis. Different skills, different dream jobs, different appearance. Makes Where's Waldo too much of an adventure, so I will evict one and hope he doesn't return.
Just dropped in to say: The best elevator is a pain in the butt! The brakes suck so bad, you can't even tap down a floor; the momentum carries it too far. Please fix the brakes on the "best" elevator. Otherwise, it's kind of a dumb / regret-inducing upgrade.
You'll learn how to use it. I had the max elevator on Jun 23rd, found it like you at the time, but at this point I want a much faster one
sound bugs Anyone else have issues with the sound effects and theme songs cutting out when switching back and forth to the app (i.e. multitasking)? Closing the app always fixes it, but I notice pretty consistently that if I answer a text or something while playing that upon returning some aspect of the sound is no longer working. This is a VERY minor thing, and doesn't effect the game at all for me. Just curious if I was the only one. Also, add me as a friend!
