Expensive IAP purchased. Just showing our support to your charming pixel tower managing game Keep it up!
So you would prefer to reach 96 floors yourself and then have the same problem? Or would you like someone to test the game first and have them fix it. I only set the clock forward, so I am only doing what you do by waiting - I just do it faster. I can guarantee that this is what the developers did while making the game - as playing legitimately for 4 months while developing a game is impossible. Floors me that you could be so short sighted.
Oh, you were just testing it and not actually cheating? Okay then, that's fine, we're all very sorry. But now that you've established that it's broken you can just stop playing it, your work is done so there's no need for you to worry about a fix.
But the Devs did have access to a button that spawned Bux so I am sure they tested it out. When you mess with the clock it really messes up the timing of this app. You could have caused a loop with the time change, that would cause the app to crash.
Outside of a very small number of posters, I have not found the people who have voiced their displeasure with the change to the bux reward to be whiny. I myself happily updated to the new version. The new features are great, particularly the removal of confirmations for stocking every item, and the bitizen sorting. It's obvious that the devs are paying attention and working to improve the game. I do think some of the complaints voiced are fair, and have their place here in the forum. As eeen himself said, the majority of players are not paying attention to the dream jobs, and basically are not affected by the change. Of course this also means that there was no great necessity to make the change in the first place. In any event, eeen has stated that it was never their intention to allow for a bux reward beyond three workers placed in the business, so, fine, that is explanation enough. One of the main underlying issues of this back and forth, as Midian and Doffie have pointed out, is that players at 60+, 70+ floors are seeing the game slow down pretty dramatically. And as it slows, except for maybe a few people with saintly patience, it gets less fun. We can already imagine that the game will become unplayable at 100+ floors. Even if you loved using the elevator and finding waldo at 50 floors, the time these things will take at 100 floors will make them a grind. Essentially, the game seems like it will become unplayable before you can complete it. In part because of the slowness, and in part because you'll have nothing to do but stock the businesses. The dream job bux offered a mechanic to keep the pace of the game steady the higher you got (not by "exploiting" it in any kind of aggressive way, but simply by playing the game), so the issue to me is not about the "right" way to play the game, but simply that it offered hope for an endgame that would be less tedious, rather than more. I think some players were rightly discouraged when NB came out to say this is not the intended mechanic--we actually want the game to slow down even more than you already thought it would. In part, I speculate that NB does not want players advancing through the game too quickly, because that will make it harder to keep up with updates and new features that will extend the game. I don't think NB is overly concerned with the small % of players at the top, they are concerned with the experience they are delivering to the millions. That's fair enough, but it is somewhat frustrating that NB is not more forthcoming about their plans. To say the change was necessary for game balance, while readily acknowledging that the vast majority of players are unaffected by it is confusing, to say the least. If there are updates that will come that address what appears to be an endgame with rapidly diminishing returns, it would be encouraging to know that. Sure, it's frustrating for developers to change the mechanics of the game for little apparent reason, but hey it's their game. That's not something worth bitching and moaning about, as far as I'm concerned. But it's certainly fair to look ahead and see that that game you are playing now is not the same as the game you'll be playing in two weeks, and that TT is now designed to get more tedious as your tower grows.
Wait, are people failing to realize this . . . ? In any case, I might be wrong, but I think the true reward is in being able to stock twice as much in the same amount of time. How much that affects your profit depends on how actively you play, and which business it is. The fact that you get twice as much for the same price also increases your profit, but only by something like 10%. (i.e. getting to spend more time selling and less time restocking is more beneficial than getting the stock for half price).
I think on this forum I am the minority of the way I use this app I am at 62 floors adding around 1 new floor a day, just from using coins earned from selling stock. But I really don't see how only adding 1 floor a day is a killer for this app. I like the pace, something new to see every day adding bititzen or rearranging them to fit the new job. I haven't used the bux since I got the last elevator. The pricing of the floors seem to go steady with the new income of the new stores. From floor 60 to 61 the new floor only cost 18,150 more coins. Which is a small amount compared to how much the new shop makes in a day. I am missing how this app is tedious. I open the app 5-7 times a day, restock what is needed and order what is out. I don't really see what is wrong here.
Have you sent Nimblebit an email or sent them a tweet about this? Also was this done during the 1.2.0 time (where there was a weird bug where all that was added was the new shops?)
I'm just wondering why that on the ipad the zoomed out view shows everything pixel perfect as it should be, but on the iphone's retina (which has the same pixel resolution) is fuzzy.
As others have said, time traveling breaks games. Did you play Pocket Frogs? People tried with that one and ended up losing their games cuz of stuff that happened because of time travel. Broken. The game has an internal time loop which saves data, makes announcements, bonuses that are scheduled to be released at a certain time, does a bunch of stuff. When you mess with that then you actually do mess with the inner part of the game. That can cause the crashing. This stuff is pretty detailed in the Pocket Frogs thread - the bad outcomes from what you are doing. Funny how you call it just waiting.
That makes sense, I can't remember when exactly it was when the floor finished but I think it was around that time.
Following up this post, I should also mention that NB also changed the game in the latest update by making Bux easier to get through ferrying passengers. I find the rate to be much higher now, so clearly, the dream job thing clearly was not a "balance" of the game. I love NB and the games they have produced, but I'd also like to just see honesty, as well.
I thought the rate was higher too...but then I realized that it "stands out" more because they eliminated the pop-ups for when you don't get bux. It feels about the same for me.
I never got any popups when I didn't get bux when ferrying passengers. That would've been A LOT of popups
Haha yeah, just messing. I haven't seen a change in the rate of bux rewards from that, either, but I definitely have been getting a lot more bux from the elevator ferrying.
Ok...I figured out the upgrade I want most... Sure, elevator options or skinning features are all fine and dandy...but the thing I really want to see: the ability to upgrade your stock items. The Beer Nuts and Chips and Salsa items are ridiculous to keep in stock (even with DJs). Sure, the stock times are short...and for newer players that may be helpful. But I'm around 65 floors now and some of the floors - restaurants in particular - run out of stock so quickly. I'd love to be able to buy/earn item upgrades - either more of the item or a different item. (After all, are nuts and chips often free at those kinds of restaurants IRL?) In the meantime...I still enjoy playing. And the huge stock items like the MMPORG make me happy.
I'm assuming the purpose of the shorter stock times is to allow the possibility of earning a BUX when fully stocking a place. Question: I only have 35 floors. At what floor do you change your strategy? ie. it's not worth ferrying people to try and get BUX or VIP's? or do you pretty much play the same no matter how many floors you have?
