So the difference between you enjoying the game and disliking the entire design of the game is a 4000 coin bonus? I'm 2 floors below you and just made over 11,000 coins doing nothing since the last time I checked in to stock about a half hour ago. I'm not buying it. If you really, truly never hunted for dream jobbers by cycling bitizens, because that is bux farming whether you called it that or not, otherwise you'd not even blink at the change in the true cost to do this, and this nerf is your straw to break the camel's back, may I humbly suggest that the problem is not the reduction in the bux bonus for placing a dream jobber but that, yes, as you say, you don't really care for the design in the totality. The sheer amount of angst over this nerf here and other places is either a front for rage over losing what the players deep down understand they were taking advantage of, or it's simply a catalyst for dissatisfaction with other elements in the game, because whether you say you care about the stats or not, you can't rationally ignore that the explicit *cost* to move in bitizens didn't change, the long term benefits from dream jobbers didn't change, the costs to build and hurry floors, stocking, etc. didn't change. All that changed is that the reward was reduced from one that generated a profit if you paid to move in a dream jobber to one that made it a break-even proposition at the same time bux rewards were nominally increased from elevator ferrying, that's it. That is a very, very small change for everyone other than those who did bux farm whatever they may have called it.
I'm disgusting and an ass, happy? No need to disguise your target, I've got thick skin. But what else do you call it when a vocal minority here, on the app store, and other places posts repeatedly how the game has been ruined for them because a nerf went into place that cannot possibly affect how they play the game if they weren't exploiting something the game designers have declared an exploit? I have small children, I know whining, and what is going on is the very definition of whining. It may also qualify as them politely voicing their dissatisfaction, but that won't stop it from also being whining since the people in charge (the Marsh bros) have spoken rather definitively about the matter. The bitizen engine isn't coming back, so either quit or change your tactics in the game.
Thanks for the advice.. I am with the majority here who actually 'guilty' of bux farming .. I've already spent 4.99 dollars for IAP, and last two weeks was fun .. guess I've already experienced what I've paid for and it's time for me to quit Tiny Tower and play other games who appreciated what's majority wanted .. I'll leave tiny tower to the minority who really know how to play it well, how to strategized and love to play it the ONLY way it was meant to be .. ah yes, and also to the actual cheater who put all my last two weeks effort for nothing .. Shame though .. Tiny Tower could be one of the greatest freemium on appstore and might have change my perception toward IAP, but now because of this, it is clear that freemium is not really my cup of tea .. ---Proceed with removing Tiny Tower from my itouch ..
I can guarantee you that the majority of players probably barely notice dream jobs in the game, let alone farm them.
> I don't care about the analysis > I care about analysis > I care about anal >ANAL STOP BEING SO ANAL !
Wait, what was changing your perception toward IAP was an exploit that allowed you to avoid buying it?
You should know us better than that Midian, the change had nothing to do with trying to get players to purchase more bux. It was only changed to preserve the balance of the game.
Exactly. For some semi-masochistic reason I've kept posting on this subject because the vocal minority IS a Minority (with the capital 'M'), and yet they seem in so much denial as to that fact. However, it's easy to demonstrate just by looking at the leaderboards. Roughly speaking, you've got 2000+ players who clearly just gave themselves unlimited towerbux by editing their save data; the sad thing is that most gave up so early on under the tedium of all that rush building anyhow so you wonder what the point of cheating like that was (the dude with over 1000 floors was really dedicated to cheating, let's give him that much ). Then there's the 1,049,000 or so players who have just been playing the game "as intended". Between that 1,049,000 or so and the top 2000 "notepadders" are the 2000 or so bux farmers, less than 2/10ths of a percent. They may be loud, they may have really, really been pouring themselves into this game, but they do not by any stretch of the imagination represent a majority. The distribution of tower height across the leader boards mathematically excludes a majority from even having the ability to farm dream jobs, so the claim is simply absurd.
just wanted to say awesome update, lots of things make the game now much more smooth to navigate and being able to organize bitizens based on jobs is great
Oh yeah. The bitizen organization is a HUGE time saver for me. Love that feature. And sure, 3 bux was nice for the dream jobbers...but I'm surprised at how little I miss it (63 floors and counting).
Yeah, what people fail to realize is that the true reward for a dream job is getting twice as much stock for the same price, doubling your profit for that floor forever!
I love the update and I am now racking up bux thanks to it. I don't farm them, they just come in through tips and finding people I hope that you guys continue to update Tiny Towers to make it even funner
As for feedback on the update itself without the drama: - Have learned to like the no confirmation popup for stocking, but I believe a stocking sound effect is in order. Even after getting used to not double tapping, it just doesn't feel right popping back to the main view with not even a sound clip. The oh so huge inconvenience of occasionally clicking on the wrong item will be more than offset by never groggily confirming a 20 bux quick sale from a misclick because I will know that if a dialog pops up, I REALLY misclicked. - I preferred the triple stock dialog because it let me know if that business was all stocked up or not without squinting at the three mini stock icons. No biggee, but I think there's a genuine argument for the original way. - If you did increase the rate of elevator bux tipping, it's such a minor change I can't detect it. Now, I've not pulled out the stop watch and run 30 minute dedicated ferrying tests for an objective measure, but if you announce a change like that, shouldn't it be noticeable to players? Maybe the RNG gods just haven't been kind. Either way, not like I was depending on ferrying passengers for bux. - I'm not convinced the dream job bux bonus necessarily needed reduced that drastically, but it's an inconsequential change in the bigger game unless you were exploiting it, and I wasn't, so no tears from me. It won't change my game experience significantly one iota and maybe it will give you the ability to put some better cheat detection into the leader boards (hint hint hint ) - I'm enjoying the ability to rename the businesses, but you know what I'd really like? The ability to rename the products that are stocked. The personalizing does me no good if I want to rename the Soda Brewery after my favorite soda brand if it's still just cola and cherry cola being stocked. There's obviously only so far that goes with the icons, but if it can be done, I'd appreciate it and I'm sure a few other whimsical tweakers as well. - bitizen sorting rocks, but it should have been there from the beginning, tsk tsk - I've mentioned it elsewhere, but I'd pay real money for a custom bitizen and floor editor feature. Alright, got to go pack to leave town for a few days, which I'm sure will upset some
Yeah that is a nice reward. I think you need to add a few more things in future updates like store of the day (the floor could sell more, cost less to restock, or take less time to restock for the day), employee of the day, advertising (make it to where you can spend money or bux and advertise a certain floor and they gain popularity for a while), add competitors (other towers) to try to outsell, more minigames, maybe even the ability to control prices for the items your selling.
That's what I'm talking about! I don't really care about the DJ reward bux reduction. I never use towerbux to force rent residences anyway. Those vacancies will fill normally with a little patience and attention, something exploiters seem to lack. The new VIPs make it even easier to fill residence floors without spending any bux. Thanks NB for a fun, truly addictive game. One minor UI complaint - some of the item stock icons don't have enough contrast between the "in-stock" and greyed-out "out-of-stock" states. (See Video Rental Consoles, for example).
Of course it is the main reason! That's why everyone is so annoyed! Because now it's going to be that much harder to actually find the dream jobbers because they'll keep running out of bux while trying to hire them, where as before, hiring and friing for dream jobbers gave you unlimited bux recycle flow, plus got you all your dream jobbers.
