Really going out of your way to miss that forest, aren't you? Your beta knowledge is all but irrelevant to my points. These are critiques of design. There is a bitizen happiness state in a game with relatively few stats and game elements. However, bitizen unhappiness doesn't actually do anything beyond making it easier to find unemployed bitizens in the unsorted mess of a bitizen list. Bitizen happiness, except that it coincides with being matched to a dream job, doesn't do anything either. For a game that's relatively low on stat volume, having one that doesn't actually have any purpose is a miss. That is all.
Dream Jobbers give me a little bit of time in my short stocking floors since they double the stock. So for me they work well. And like MidianGTX said they tell me what I need to know so all good there too. @dbhjed - I actually like hearing how the process worked and what was added and changed along the way. I think Dream Jobs is something to work for and gives the game an additional goal. So thank you for sharing. A big question though --- Is there though, could there be though, a place to find out how many job openings there are per floor as opposed to clicking on each floor or counting up the Bitizen page to see how many are employed at each level? Or even when you go to assign a Bitizen a job could it have how many availabilities are open on that floor - say: Pub (2) Food Just so that when you are reassigning people or assigning people you know which floor needs filling the most?
Ok maybe I am misinterpreting this totally. You put three workers in a store with three skill levels. Say each is 9. You get a 27% restocking fee discount. The skill levels per worker are added and that determines the discount if I am to understand how that works? So, you put in three 0's just to fill the floor - you get 0 discount then I would assume. So there would be that penalty for filling the floor with an unhappy worker or an unskilled worker and like in the real world an unskilled worker is an unhappy one! If you put in dream jobbers then the stock multiplies, AND you get a discount. So not placing dream jobbers gives you the penalty of less bonus stock. I see the benefits and the penalties as simple ones because of the nature of the game - I think what you are looking for happens in a sim game; a time management game doesn't really emphasize those kinds of stats. They just make sure the task gets accomplished. So the benefits or the penalties are mere pocket change, ok, but still something to guide placement and employment, etc. Probably there are just as many people that like the introduction of sim elements simply to a time management game as there are people that are looking for something more in depth. For me, it's getting hard to keep track of all these things at 50+ floors so I for one am happy at the basic simplicity. If the tower were smaller and there was less to track then yeah ok, play it at a sim level; but as it stands it is fine to me.
Very good suggestion re not having to click many times just to find out where you've got rental openings. And I agree with all those who have said that the Bitizens list is extremely unwieldy and sorting options are badly needed. Basic maintenance of one's tower becomes quite tedious after one has 60+ floors and takes some of the fun out of an otherwise a very nice game.
You're misinterpreting the spirit (which is talking about bitizen happiness effects). I probably didn't choose the best example to make my point. At any rate, yes, you understand the mechanics right but not necessarily their impact: Your actual increase in profits is not 27%, but rather less than 10% with the way the economics model works out. For example, using the Martial Arts center with it's enormous stocks, your net profit for selling through a full load of products A, B, & C is 40,170 coins with all 9s, with all 0s it's 36,720, a gain of only 9.3% in profits. The Pub is 1202 vs 1116, a 7.7% gain. Fortune Teller is 8.2%, Mapple Store is 8.1%, Plant Nursery is 8.9%, and so on and so on.
Im in a place where the 3g connection is very bad and often my phone cannot find a carrier.. I havent made any changes to my date or time.. Now it happened again - i have to wait 1 day for my 6 shops to restock :-(((((( it sucks! Is there anyone else who has encountered the same problems as i have?
Would everyone recommend upgraded to the highest elevator? Or should I stay with the Insta-Lift 2000 SE (12 PPM)? I heard some say it's difficult to slow it down to stop on the right floor...
Pay Towerbux to move them in instantly. Pretty much the only way when your tower gets to 30 floors or so. Here's something that would be nice: The ability to create a bitizen to move in. Even if just one, it'd be cool to move a bitizen version of myself into my tower. Oh, and bitizen cats and dogs. Not for any real reason, it'd just be cute to see them hanging around in apartments! The gold elevator is fine. I've no idea what people are on about, it's no trouble at all.
@ eeenmachine - In the next update, will "Floor renaming" or any other new features require tower bux to enable/obtain? I've been saving up for the Ultra-Lift 3000 Extreme (almost there...); but if something new is going to be released that is worth my tower bux rather than the fastest elevator...I'd rather hold out for what's to come!
Aha I see that the Pocket Frogs update includes saving one's scrolling position in the Froggydex. Perhaps such an improvement (along with sortig options, in my dreams) will come to TT as well. Whatcha say Marsh Bros?
Can you please elaborate? I just had to get my iphone replaced and tiny towers is the only app that the data didnt transfer over, the most important one! I cant loose my towers
You REALLY do hate me don't you lol. I am glad we never have to meet face to face. Happiness does have a role in this game. It shows how happy someone is in a job. I understand it has almost no effect in the app at all but what are you really looking for? It also semi effects the app because there are two reasons a bitizen is unhappy, they are either employed (not earning you coins besides rent) or in a job that they have a low stat in (lowering the discount you get). So in that sense it does have an effect on the app. Basically happiness is only in the app for the casual player (the type of player this app is aimed at) if they see an unhappy person they would be like, "Oh, well I would want them to be happy" so with that in mind they would try to place them where they can be happy. I can't wait to hear your opinion on the next update Also I tell about the beta because it is good to know where something came from. A lot of things were added into Tiny Tower for a reason. This app is almost 75% different from what it started as. Really the only thing that stayed were shops and stocking. This app is a Time Management with IAP aimed at casual gamers. Nimblebit was looking to reach the same people that play Farmville, YoVille, and We Rule.
Actually I prefer the highest one. Much faster esp. when you have 50 floors... You can actually quickly tab and release it when you need to move 1 floor up/down. No issue for me.
How is the happiness feature irrelevant? Its an easy way to see if someone is in their dream job which gives you x2 stocking and a bigger discount if all the people have "happy" faces next to their names your gonna be making bank compared to someone who just throws them around anywhere, so its a pretty important feature
