What else would you call the bonus you get for having all three items in stock? A double stock bonus?

Anyhow, I finally figured out the precise formula for floor pricing so now I can get around to generating my max legit tower formulation later tonight.

It might. It will only update them when you move in a new bitizen / build a new floor / fully stock something.

Really glad the achievements bug is fixed!!

On a different note. Sometimes with the where is waldo missions. I get the feeling that my bitizens hide behind other bitizens, or that they sneak to the right corner....

I read a comment that suggested not upgrading the final elevator speed.

Is there a consensus on this? Is it not worth it? The braking thing IS a bit annoying even with the second-to-last upgrade...

I'm at 38 floors and find it good for this amount. If you have (much) less floors then you probably shouldn't get the upgrade.

Buy it if you play the game a lot (like actively playing). Otherwise, the upgrade wouldn't be necessary. I got used to the elevator speed so I'm fine with it.

On the contrary, I have 37 floors right now, but I find the second best elevator great. I don't think I'll be upgrading to the best elevator any time soon.

However, I should note the only times I actually play this game for extended periods of time is when I'm doing other activities, so usually I'll just hold the up button and look away for a while before looking back at the game.

I see different players use Big Spender VIP in different ways..

I prefer to leave few big stock stores filled with item3 only, waiting for the Big spender.
Once the Big Spender came, i will pray for VIP who speed up restocking to restock only the item3. If have to, i'll spent tower bux to finish restock.

How do you use the Big Spender VIP?

    What's your real GC ranking?

It's pretty obvious that cheaters abound on Game Center. With that in mind, I sat down today armed with my spreadsheets and worked out the maximum possible towers anyone should have legitimately.

Let's assume for the sake of argument that someone is playing this game 24/7 such that shops never run out of stock and they are continually earning towerbux bonuses from Waldo missions, triple stocking, and elevator tips.

    Some numbers:

In 24 hours, you could hypothetically make 960,000 coins just from towerbux.
In 24 hours, assuming it's open continuously with dream jobbers and good aptitude workers, each business nets about 20,000 coins.
The formula for floor pricing is: [price of the previous floor] * [1 + ([floor number x 2]-1)/([previous floor number]^2)]

There are, of course, variables in the form of VIPs and elevator tips, but let's ignore that because, hey, this hypothetical person is already somehow being given credit for playing 24/7 and doing nothing else, so whatever tower height this evaluation yields is already far beyond what any actual player can achieve, it just gives us a clear demarcation between those with no honor and those with no life.

Even the variable of IAP can be safely ignored in terms of this extreme calculation because this hypothetical twitch monkey is getting just about as many towerbux from playing the game every 2 days as $30 worth of IAP. Maybe, just maybe, somebody out there dropped a few hundred dollars on this game, but without staying up 24/7 and doing nothing but staring intently at their i-Device, I guarantee the HTM used in this simulation will outstrip that paltry IAP effect.

    ==============

For the sake of keeping my sanity, I calculated all of this based up 60 minute intervals, but I'm more than certain the fact this hypothetical player never sleeps will more than make up for the fact that it only builds new floors at 60 minute intervals. I'm also even giving this hypothetical meth head the super power to get enough construction VIPs, dream jobber bitizen bonuses, and spare towerbux tips that floors are effectively built instantly because I didn't feel like taking that into account (so, again, these tower heights are an extreme maximum of what any legit player could have).

End of day 1, tower is 28 floors high.
End of day 2, tower is 36 floors high.
End of day 3, tower is 42 floors high.
End of day 4, tower is 47 floors high.
End of day 5, tower is 51 floors high.
End of day 6, tower is 55 floors high.
End of day 7, tower is 58 floors high.
End of day 8, tower is 61 floors high.
End of day 9, tower is 64 floors high. <- This is tonight.
End of day 10, tower is 67 floors high.
End of day 11, tower is 69 floors high.
End of day 12, tower is 72 floors high.
End of day 13, tower is 74 floors high.
End of day 14, tower is 76 floors high.
End of day 21, tower is 89 floors high.
End of day 28, tower is 100 floors high (this is the soonest this achievement will happen legitimately).

So everybody not cheating can just subtract 500 from your ranking, because without a doubt every single player in the top 500 cheated, which is what makes the fact that some of them are just barely over this definite cut off kind of sad: they cheated their faces off and still can't manage to do better than just be over the line ;)

The soonest anyone playing legitimately could have all floors currently in the game is August 16, 2011.

I'm going to go crack open a beer, I have hurt my brain...

I like the fastest elevator for getting way high in my tower. What I do is slow it down when it's one or two floors below the target and then just tap it up. Saves me the trouble of overshooting and having to jiggle it back into place.

Yea pretty much this with a slight variation

I have a few big item3 stores waiting for big spenders...I don't stock it with tier 1 items. However, I do click to start item 2, but once the stock is ready, I don't click it, I let it sit. Then after the big spender comes and I'm showered with glorious coins, THEN I click to stock the already ready item 2 item. This lets me sell item 2 while waiting on restock of item 3. It basically minimizes the down time so your shop isn't shut down. I have a few shops devoted to this and combined with the stock time VIP, I usually don't need to use bux, though I sometimes do if the timing is really funky or I hit a hot streak of big spender VIPs.

Not sure if I'm explaining it well, hopefully this is decipherable!@

PS: Unrelated but this game is awesome while watching baseball...something to do between pitches!

I wonder why some of my dreamjob workers are always found in the apt instead of the business shop? Are these workers non-performing workers? Do you evict them?

Bitizens just like real people don't have to be at work 24/7.

You can still manufacture all 3 products, so how could they be non-performing? It's not like there's some sort of detailed customer service model to the sales. Basically, when demand is at 100% and a store has stock it makes a sale about every 7.5 seconds and which item is sold is randomly chosen from the in-stock items.

I've got a hard enough time getting matching dream job bitizens without evicting them for daring to go home for a rest ;)

One last bit of anal retentiveness before I go. Some quick graphs showing the difference between daily business revenue and floor cost as towers grow.

As has been stated, the business revenue growth is strictly linear, but the floor cost increases as over time as a percentage of the previous floor (the percentage increase *approaching* zero over time, but that'll take a while, it was still at 0.08% at floor 2500 when I did some calculations).

The top graph is through floor 200 and already the difference in the cost of floors relative to business income is stark, then for s&gs I ran it through floor 1000 in the bottom graph, although you will still be able to add new floors every couple of weeks even then.
