I like the game and its graphics, but I agree with teme that this game is very similar to other freemium building games in the sense that there isnt much gameplay, only waiting and and repeating very simple tasks. It does get annoying if what you wanted to play was a building strategy game, not a searching game or elevator game.
No idea what open slots for an apartment has to do with and I've tested it. Since I've been trading in for 200,000 coins a day every single day since Thursday (after I maxed the elevators), I might have gathered a little more data on the rate of TB income than you if you're basing this on your single 20 minutes span
I don't really know what freemium has to do with that. There are paid games with the same task based mechanics and freemium games with nothing remotely resembling such game mechanics. Freemium is a sales model, period, and that's generally what people rail against: how the "free" part of the sales model actually becomes quite expensive (e.g. Gun Bros). This is a lightweight time management game, it was never presented as anything else, so if your annoyance is that it's the game that it is, that's not a flaw in TT, only misguided expectations.
I always try to leave open slots in my apt (except when I'm at 5/5 Dream Jobs). I'd don't know the exact minutes per bux, but 3 minutes doesn't seem too far off. I got the best elevator no problem, and bux are pretty easy to come by. In fact, I found leaving an apt slot open is probably my #1 source of bux, since I can get dream jobs much, much easier for the 3 bux bonus (currently at 47 dream jobs). Make sure to put someone with their dream job even if they have a low rating, even if you have 9/9/9 Dreamjobbers, just so you can get the 3 bux, then evict him.
And yet there is an incredible amount of strategy if you looked. Read this thread of the tips and strategies thread to see that there are so many people playing this in different ways trying to determine the best strategy for not only them but for progressing in the game. That is the beauty of Nimblebit games - there is more to them than meets the eye.
I'm just comparing this game with the other freemium building games on the iphone like we rule, farm story etc and saying that their mechanics are similar. Teme's post you originally quoted said something about wanting a building simulation with proper game mechanics like sim tower so I thought maybe thats what he meant. I havent played sim tower before but I know sim city allows you to fast forward.
Question: Is it better to stock all 3 tier of items, or just the 2nd and 3rd items or just the 3rd items? I know if you stock all 3, you get a coin or possible bux bonus. But it seems like my Sales per Minute goes down. Before I was stocking everything, and I was getting roughly 350-ish sales per minute. Now what I'm doing is not stocking tier 1 items (except in my quick Food places), and my sales per minute is well over 400. It also makes some of the VIP's more valuable. However I run into times when my store gets closed while waiting on long restocking times, and I also am missing the fully stocked bonus. Any thoughts?
You just don't get it if you're looking for "retina" display on this game. The charm of the game is the 8bit graphics. This game will never, and shouldn't ever, have "retina" display. Such a stupid phrase...
LMAO, I just had one that was all 0s but creative was a 3 and she wanted to work on software. Evicted immediately for wasting my TB lol
You want retina for an 8-bit sim game? Aren't the in-game "pixels" already comprised of more than one actual pixel? I'm no expert, and I'll freely admit I'm wrong if I am, but I don't see how retina would change anything. J
I don't know, because I haven't had any achievement problems at all (probably thanks to 3G), but I'd suspect you'll need to play the updated version long enough for it to submit your progress...perhaps even add a floor or bitizen for it to "see" the new result.
If you were playing logged into Game Center you can delete and re-install to restore from the server.
Add border while in stock? Also: sound skips while playing iPod music The only complaint I really have about this game is that sometimes the item/service icons that are mostly gray (3 Piece Suit, Console Rental) are tough to see in low brightness levels, so that I don't always know whether they're in stock. Maybe a brighter/contrasting background/border could be added to the in-stock items? Also, I remembered that at least in 1.0 (haven't tested 1.0.1), music/podcasts played, with Tiny Tower sound and effects and notifications off, will skip, repeat, and stutter. I am playing on a iPod touch 3G 64GB. ___________ GameCenter/OpenFeint/plus+ ID: acepumpkin
Can't... ...but great idea for a "suggestions" thread...although I can see the argument that it's part of the game. (It adds the potential strategy of eventually evicting a bitizen in their dream job, for the chance to add another w/ the 3 bux bonus.)
I have the same problem. To the designers credit, they are well aware of the problem ( I emailed them) and they responded back to me very quickly saying that they are working to resolve this issue and will update.
