Been playing all day today, and I've peaked out at 70 Bux. I have 11 floors, ~95,000 coins, and 36 Bux as I write this. 20 Bitizens happily living in my tower This is easily one of my favorite iDevice games already. I can't wait to go further, place people in their dream jobs, and hit 100 floors! Though, how many places are there? I have 2 recreational and 1 of everything else...I know there have to be tons more. EDIT: VIP trick...when you see it, DON'T TAP "VIP". Instead, look at them. If they look like a construction guy, build another floor if you can, and send them there. If they're a boy with glasses, drop them at the store where you want to sell out of one product. If they look like a UPS person, send them to the longest time remaining for a restock. And if they're a girl with glasses, send them to a store you need to popularize. If you can't do any of them, just wait until you can, or just dump them on a random floor.
First thing I spent towerbux on was the elevator upgrade. Getting ready to get the second upgrade in another 11 bux. Not really sure what people are jumping on the coins for - you HAVE to have towerbucks to upgrade the elevator, and coins come along just for playing the game.
Does having GC friends actually help you in this game? If they do I have yet to figure out how they do
I think I nailed the "Welcome Back" crash bug. Hoping to submit an update tonight. In the meantime you just have to play with a net connection or log out of game center if you start getting hit with it.
More coins = more floors = more people = more shops = more jobs = more coins. Coins make a difference. Really the second elevator is good until you have nothing to do and you collect 75 Bux.
Cool game. A few questions -does the game run innthe background constantly? That would be a battery drain. -what happens if I close the app altogether? Does money continuento accumulate server side somehow?
This. It's just a good way to get cash flowing near the start of the game, once you've got a nice 10 floors open you can concentrate on the elevator upgrade. You don't even need a speedy elevator until you've got 10+ floors anyway so it makes sense to start with a 100k boost and go back for elevators later. I think it just checks your device's date and time and adjusts the figures accordingly. No need to store data server side.
1. Nope, Apple restricts developers at great depth to prevent battery abuse. 2. It'll continue via Magic.
Twice my device has run out of power, and yet the game still accumulates coins, elevator people, and restocks.
No, not this. Have you all played Pocket Frogs? I see no signs that just like PF, money is the least limiting factor in the game. I will not be wasting my hard earned towerbux on coins. I'm betting faster elevator trips equals faster grinding to more VIPs and more towerbux, which will equal a faster developing tower than those who focus on converting their bux into coins. Anyhow, we'll see who winds up with taller towers faster
I have played Pocket Frogs, and the coins are needed for breeding new frogs (especially at higher levels) and completing the collection of all the habitats. Faster elevators may allow for faster VIPs, yes, but it's still going to have the same customer rate as those with slower elevators. The ones that have more coins will be able to get more floors, and so get more shops and apartments, making their tower taller and netting more coins.
Tower bux aren't hard-earned though. You simply don't need a fast elevator near the beginning of the game, you're much better off bulding new floors and getting a huge cash injection to speed up the development of future floors. Once you get to the level where you need some more elevator speed you've already saved up 25 bux again. I bought 100,000 coins to boost myself to 10 floors, then saved for the elevator upgrade which I got by the time I had 12 floors, which is more or less exactly when the old elevator begins to get tedious. Now I'm at 14 floors and saving for my second elevator upgrade. Everything worked out perfectly.
I remember earlier someone saying the game is also saved locally. Has anyone tried to make a backup and then restore it using an app like AppBackup?
A faster elevator would only benefit you if you're sitting there ferrying passengers ALL DAY. When I go to sleep tonight, the extra levels I placed using that 100k will keep earning me money, while the elevator sits unused. Not to mention, the faster elevator isn't really that necessary when you have less than eight floors, which is what I'd expect you to have if you blew your first 25 bux on the elevator. Early investment in the 100k will pay off in the end, in my opinion.
Everyone keeps talking about getting 50 bux early on. Is that supposed to happen automatically, or do you need to do something? And the issues I were having fixed themselves after a while.
I also think that VIPs seriously slow down as your tower grows. When I first started, I recall seeing loooots of VIPs in a given hour. Now, with 13 floors, I'm seeing far fewer VIPs. Could be a coincidence... or maybe it's entirely random. Front loading VIPs in the first few hours of play would be a good way to boost new players and interest, though.
Agreed, I'm 7 bux away from the elevator upgrade. I got my floors up to 13, and I'm waiting for one of them to finish in about 40 minutes. I will then re-stock all my shops, and continue to work towards the last 7 bux needed for the elevator and I already have 13 floors.
It's not automatic. You get 1 bux for the "Where's Waldo" pixel hunts, 1 bux for adding a new tower level and 1 bux randomly as a tip from elevator passengers. You'll also get bux for meeting certain goals... like employing a bitizen at their dream job; I think that nets you 3 bux?
