I think that was the mindset of a lot of players who left because of them. My view is just play, enjoy, and when you're maxed out restart and get a little golden ticket as an incentive. At first I wondered about going for a full golden ticket tower, but like you said that's just unrealistic (and would put the game in a very chorseome category)

What level does a floor have to be to become golden?

You choose which floor to make Golden by using a Golden Ticket on the floor. You get the tickets by restarting your game (you get 1 ticket for each 50 floors) or be winning them in the raffle.

Bitizens No Longer wait in lobby?

So I just started playing again with a brand new tower. Didn't you used to get regular, non-VIP Bitizens in the lobby, who you could either use to fill your apartments or reject? That was a nice feature and I'll be bummed if it's gone. Apologies if this has been asked already - I'm on my phone and can't easily search. Thanks.

All the same VIPs are in this game.

Anyone know the highest level a floor can be upgraded to and the bux cost?

    7 to 8 is 1470

    6 to 7 is 1080

    5 to 6 is 750

    4 to 5 is 480

    3 to 4 is 270

Tiny Tower: 5th Anniversary Edition (by NimbleBit)

The new 3.0.4 update adds a lot of very friendly features :
    - daily rent from bitizens in coins, always good to have more coins :D I think I got 250k for 90 sthg bitizens but we should see tomorrow if it's a fixed amount per Bzen.
-you see in your friends list who was active recently, making it easier to get rid of ppl who don't play anymore.
    - and most important, the formerly useless celebrity ViP now changes the dream job of any Bitizen working in a shop to the shop's dream job. It makes her ultra powerful, as I can put any one of my 99999 Ironmen tanks and assign them the dream job I need, as long as I have the shop. Maybe too powerful in the long run, but cool anyways.

Remember a neat trick: if you don't need to use your iPhone/iPad, if you keep TT open, the ViPs will fill your lobby progressively. You'll have to turn off auto sleep mode and better plug the device for the battery though. Check every now and then to use the ViPs ;)

It seems to be based on their skills level. The 99999 bitizen earns me 2700 coins. If you didn't know, you can see what each bitizen will earn you by viewing the apartment they are living in. Haven't worked out how it's calculated but it looks like I shall be upgrading some level 9 dream jobbers if they earn more.

    I got almost 600K in rent ..

Edit: ok it seems simple enough. Every skill point earns you 60 coins.
    5*9=45
    45*60=2700.

I think it's 60 per skill point for dream jobbers and 20 for non dream jobbers.

Tiny Tower: 5th Anniversary Edition (by NimbleBit)

I didn't notice the rent on the appartment screen.
Looks like 99999 tanks will be useful, 2700 each daily, so 8100 when you get 3 on a shop.

Knowing that a fully stocked floor nets 12 coins per item /minute so 2160 an hour, 51.8k per day max. Minus the stocking fee and waiting times.
So more realistically 30/40k per shop per day.
Sweet bonus, and smart encouragement to upgrade your Bitizens, even if they're dream jobbers.

When you add the daily Bux bony which will get more useful after a few months = (3 Bux * (number of days +2))
And the daily raffle, although at 1/1000 odd :/
I'll keep playing daily for a while.
Or as they say in iOS whale predators seminars, the retention rate will improve. :D

Yes, quite right. Unemployed and non dream jobbers get reduced rent. Only have a couple of dole bludgers in my tower.

One thing with this, it gets the grey matter going doing a few sums quickly

    I was thinking about something...

You could create something like a maximizing service for bitizens. It would work like this:

If I want to do this, I would put my name and the word "Max" to my lobby. So, if you add me as a friend, you'll know that I can maximize bitizens for you.

Then you send me a bitizen with the name "SBM-XXXX", which means "Send back maximized to XXXX". (With "XXXX" being your ID).

I get this bitizen, send it to a golden floor, maximize it to 99999 and send it back to you.

That way you could maximize your bitizens really fast.

Yeah, I know there's some trust issues there, but if someone doesn't send you a bitizen back maximized, then you get it off your friend list.

Do you think this could work?

Thanks, Lorena! I'm at 199 now so I'll be able to confirm soon.

I'll also have tons of dream jobbers to give away before I rebuild. If anyone wants me to add you, let me know! My friend code is 2WZJ.

    Nope this can't work ;)
8 thought about it too in the beta, but NimbleBit thought of this obvious possible exploit :
    Gifted bitizens are VIPs.
You are able to put them on a golden apartment but it won't maximize their stats.

I agree that the new celebrity may be too powerful and NB may really limit their appearance. Since the 5th anniversary update I've built 13 commercial floors and have 30 of 39 Dream Jobs. Only about 10 were filled the old fashioned way, the rest filled using your "neat trick" that I didn't even know about. See Vic, even with my TA1 airline going bankrupt ( I accidentally deleted it and then backed up my iPad to my Mac before I restored it), you're still helping us old TA1 pilots.

Exactly how could they be too powerful? This is Tiny Tower, a pure time waster if ever there was one. With the odds of any given bitizen being both a 9 and a particular dream jobber now less than 1 in 1000 but the cost to cycle bitizens up to 125 bux each, only thing the improved celebrity does is give those with no interest in tedious rebuilding for golden tickets or begging for charity a chance to populate their tower with some gold stars.
